Sweet Baby Boy Card

Good morning friends!

Today's share is a baby card using the new Pop it Ups dies by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs I was on a bit of a roll, so this is the first of several.  :-)

Each of these new wafer thin Pop it Ups die sets come WITH Decorator Dies, and I used a couple of different sets for the card. I hand cut a banner from the green patterned paper, and a heart from the  Heart Pivot die set. There are so many uses for these dies and I love how you can mix and match the different sets. The card is my new favourite size ... 4-1/2 x 6".

For the inside I used several Pop it Ups dies ... the Lucy Label Pop up, one of the Agatha Edges and the scroll and more hearts from the Heart Pivot set.

I stamped the word 'sweet' on a label from the Lucy Label set, and added it to two paper strips.  There is a pole die that comes with the Lots of Pops die set, but I don't have that one yet so had to get creative.

Because there is sparkle in each of the patterned papers, I outlined the fancy edge with my Sakura gel pen. I love matching scroll that comes with the two edge dies, and if the design team cards are any indication - I'm not alone! I also outlined the stamped 'baby' so it catches the light when the card is held.

The slots that the two paper strips were inserted into, also come with the Lucy Label Pop Up die! So fun - you can add them anywhere you want on the card, and in any number you want! I'm still new to this technique, but I can see it's going to be lots of fun.

Here is a better shot of the slots and paper strips holding up the 'sweet' label. You can also see I used that optional pop up bump that cuts with Lucy Label Pop Up and added a little stamped circle to it.

We will be welcoming our third Grand-baby in mid March and we don't know if babe is a boy or a girl. One of my dear friends is going to be a Grandma for the first time early next month, and they also don't know if it's a boy or girl.  I plan on being prepared with several cards of each on hand.  :-)

Here are some packaging photos so you can see all the different dies I used on my card. Be sure to ask your local retailer to contact Elizabeth Craft Designs for the Pop it Ups collection.

  1. Very clever Karen, I like how you improvised on using the poles & the slot punch. When you get the rest of your dies you'll have a hard time figuring out which one to use first.
