Pop-Up Christmas Card for our Vet (and a second card!)

Good morning friends

I always bring our Veterinarian's office some goodies and a hand made card over the holidays. It works out that one of our dogs ends up needing a vaccination or something else close to Christmas so it works out well.

This years card uses the new Twist Circle Pop-Up by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs, and also the new Labels and Circles.

Here is the card as it is opening ...

... and when it's fully open the centre circle twists and pops-up in the centre of the card!

I used a couple of different stamp sets for the dog, and penned the words inside. The circle was stencilled with the Petite Stage-it Stencil for a subtle background.

I was about to pack up from the card, when I decided to go ahead and make a second card that uses almost an identical layout and the leftover paper from the first card. This one has a fun clear sticker on the front.

Inside is a glittered snowman and several snowflakes.

The Twist Circle Pop-Up makes a really cool interactive card, but it's easy peasy because the die does all the hard work for you!

Two Westies Christmas Card

Good morning friends

Today's share is the Christmas card I made for our friends.

After arriving in Arizona last year, they got two adorable West Highland Terrier puppies. We enjoyed watching the puppies play and grow while we were all in Arizona together. Now they are full grown and having a blast chasing gophers on their ranch here in Alberta.  I just had to make our friends a Christmas card with two Westies on it.

The card uses the Twist Circle Pop-Up by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs. I combined stamps from a couple of different companies for the Westies circle, then added a Candy Cane from Jolly the Mouse and a gift from the Evergreen Pivot card.

Twist Circle Pop-Up Cards are ones that the recipient tends to open and close several times, and I know this one is going to get a lot of attention at their house. I used a mini-stapler to adhere the arm to the base to be sure it wouldn't come apart after repeated handling.

It's so much fun making a personalized card that you know is going to be loved.

Supplies:
Patterned paper - DCWV
Grey card stock - Papertrey Ink
Mini Stapler
Twist Circle Pop-Up, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Dogs and Bed - My Favorite Things
White card stock
Outdoor Edges, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)

Water colour pencils

Dog Themed Sympathy Card

Good morning friends

I wanted to send my Sister In Law & family a card when their dog passed, and this is what I came up with. I used a heavy white card stock and the Heart Pivot by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs for the card base.

The designs on the front (and back) pivot to the inside when the card is opened. I added hand lettering and dog themed embellishments from Paper Smooches.

Whenever I give a Pivot Card to someone, they inevitably turn it so they can see what it looks like from the top. So I like to include a photo of the top on my Pivot Card blog posts.

Supplies:
Heavy white card stock - Michaels
Red and black card stocks
Xyron
Heart Pivot, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Paw Print etc - Paper Smooches
Hugs die - Technique Tuesday
Fine point Tweezers - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Bakers Twine
Oval Accordion (heart), Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)

Card size - 4 x 5-1/2"

Pull Tab Card with Spotted Dog

Good morning friends

Earlier this Spring I ordered two sets of Echo Park dog dies online. I used the first one HERE and have only used it that once. I'm used to the care that Karen Burniston puts into creating her dies, packaging & assembly photos (and videos!) but  found trying to assemble that dog die - with only a 1/4" black & white fuzzy thumbnail very frustrating. The final dog was also much smaller than I expected. While I'm sure I'll make it again, it is a die set that I regret purchasing.

Last week I decided to try the second dog die and am happy to report that it was much easier to assemble. It still only had the 1/4" thumbnail but the pieces were much larger and easier to figure out. Plus, it's a larger size when completed and I WILL use this one again for sure.  I like how crisp the dog looks, so paired it with equally crisp patterned papers and the Hanging Charm Pull Tab.

When you slide up the pull tab, the dogs stands up and reveals the stamped sentiment. So fun!

Because I make these flat post-card style, I like to add some flat decoration to the back as well.

Into my stash with this one.

Supplies:
Hanging Charm Pull Tab, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Dog die - Echo Park
Heavy White card stock - Recollections
White card stock

It's Masculine Card Monday here on my blog and I have a Father's Day card to share today. I have several sheets of cute dog stickers in my stash so decided to use one of the dogs for a cute Father's Day card.

The words inside were done on the computer and I added a large die cut bone as an embellishment.

Supplies:
White card stock
Patterned paper - Echo Park
Dog sticker - Paper House
Black card stock

'Bobble Head' Dog card

Good morning friends

It's Masculine Card Monday here on my blog. Today's share uses a stamp set that I picked up at the Mesa Rubber Stamp Show this Spring. So fun!

After stamping and colouring, I fussy cut out the dog body and separate head, then mounted the body onto one of the photo printed card stock pieces I've been using frequently these days. The dogs head was then attached with an Action Wobble.

I used the computer for the inside. I've started working on our Father's Day cards as I have a fair number of them to create.

Supplies:
White card stock
Patterned paper - DCWV
Dog stamps - Stampendous
Action Wobble
Coloured Pencils - Prismacolor

New Puppy Pull Card and a Zentangle Tile

Good morning friends

It's Flip-It Friday here on my blog and I have a sweet Z-fold card today using the newest Pull Card shape - the Oval. It has the notch that holds the card in the closed position, which I love. The front has sparkly patterned paper and a 3-d puppy sticker.

Look at how nicely the new Pull Card Edges work! The Scallops fit perfectly over the notch that holds the card closed.

I made this card for a friend who got a REALLY CUTE new puppy!

I'm also sharing my Zentangle Tile #9

Doggie Pull Tab Card

Good morning friends

It's Masculine Card Monday here on my blog, and my share today uses my new favourite Karen Burniston die - the Hanging Charm Pull Tab.

When you pull the tab, the dog slides up to reveal the greeting.

This time I made it a regular folded card. I like it, but I think I prefer this die as a totally flat card.

Now lets talk about the dog die. Cute, right? Well - what a PITA to assemble. All those teeny TINY pieces, and only a 1/4" fuzzy thumbnail on the package as a photo guideline. I also had no idea it would be so small when finished, but that's my fault for not checking the size before I ordered. Makes me appreciate Karen Burniston dies all the more.

Supplies:
Hanging Charm Pull Tab, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Soft Finish Card Stock - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Dog Die - Echo Park
Pan Pastels and also Pan Pastels Kit #1 - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Patterned paper - Echo Park
White card stock

iTunes Gift Card

Good morning friends

It's Masculine Card Monday here on my blog, and I have a dog themed Gift Card Holder to share today.  The outer card was embossed with a wood grain embossing folder, and the stickers were adhered to white card stock and fussy cut.

Inside I used the Sleigh Gift Card Holder, by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs. The sleigh portion is optional, and I like that the Gift Card portion is also a Pop-Up with an angled 'platform' as well. It's good for popping up all kinds of things!

When the Gift Card is removed, you can see the word bubble that was cut from the inner panel. I added a Peel-Off Happy Birthday sticker which adhered just fine over the bumpy embossed outer card.

I also added Washi Tape across the bottom edge for an added pop of colour.

Supplies:
Teal card stock - Stampin' Up
Sleigh Gift Card Holder, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Stickers - Momenta
E-120 Bark Embossing Folder - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Washi Tape
2577 Happy Birthday Peel Off - Elizabeth Craft Designs

I Wuf You Pull Card

Good morning friends, and ... HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

It's Flip-It Friday here on my blog and as promised, I'm done with holiday cards for awhile. Today's share uses one of Karen Burniston's new Pop it Ups dies for Elizabeth Craft Designs. These dies will be released at CHA next weekend, and shipping later this month!!

It's no secret that I love Pull Cards, and now there will be an Oval Pull Card! This one has a slider - when the card is pulled open the item at the right end of the slider arm moves towards the centre of the card. SO fun.

I used the Heart Accessory die that comes with the Oval Pull Card and cut through both layers of the centre oval to create a little window. The scalloped circle is from the Ring Accordion - it comes in handy lots.

The scrolls on the corners are from the new Oval Landscape Accordion set, and I also used one of the new Pull Card Edges on the right. The scalloped border is the same size and shape as the Pull Card notches and you can then trim your panel to whatever width and height you prefer. The heart that was cut from the front is placed so it's visible through the heart 'window' when the card is in the closed position. I added glitter glue to it as well.

Below you can see the card open, and how the Valentine puppy has slid across the card to the centre.

I stamped the dog and words on cream card stock and used coloured pencils (blended) to add the colour. The smallest circle die from the Ring Accordion was used to cut out the I WUF YOU circle and it was popped up with foam tape.

I have lots of Valentine's to make, as I also make the ones for my Mom to send. So here is the first Valentine for 2016!

Doggie Christmas Card for our Vet

Good morning friends

Today's share is the Christmas card I made for our vet.

Inside, I made it a Pop-Up card using the Sleigh Gift Card Pop-Up by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs. The stamped and die cut dogs were attached to the the Pop-Up platform, the angled platform and the additional L support that comes with the die. "Put some WAG in hour holiday" - so fun!!

The dogs were stamped and die cut, then the sweaters were stamped, die cut and popped up with foam tape.

I made a coordinating tag, and tied it to a large box of TimBits. Ha - that was the only holiday 'baking' I'd done at that point. As of yesterday though, I have a couple of our family favourites all ready. :-)

Supplies:
White card stock
Sleigh Gift Card Holder, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Dog stamps and dies - Papertrey Ink
Patterned paper - MME
Fine Point Tweezers - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Blueprints #12 and #24, My Favorite Things
Stitched Oval - MFT

Puppy Birthday Card

Good morning friends

Every once in awhile I like to pull out my older dies - and this puppy is one of them.

I cut her out of sparkly patterned paper, and added some of the ECD black velvet adhesive for her nose. The cupcake dies don't come with the shadow layer, so I attached them to black card stock and fussy cut it out. Otherwise it just seemed to disappear into the background of the card.

A stamped greeting inside, with a little Peel-Off candle and the card is done.

Supplies:
Card blank and envelope - Michaels
Puppy Dog die - Sizzix
Patterned paper - DCWV
Elizabeth Craft Designs Clear Double Sided Tape
White card stock
Black card stock
Pink pearl card stock scrap
Black Velvet Adhesive sheet - Elizabeth Craft Designs
