Thanksgiving Wine Bottle Hanger

Elizabeth Craft Designs has a new double sided adhesive tape - in full sheets all the way through to smaller rolls.  They sent a sample to each of the Design Team members to play with but mine has not arrived yet. One of the joys of moving into a rural area is that ECD can no longer courier samples to me because of the outrageous cost. However, most of the design team has received theirs and everyone thinks it's a great product.

Because we are going to be in Arizona for a few more days, I placed an order for some of this new tape -- simply on the rave reviews of my fellow team mates.  I played with it yesterday and I understand what all the fuss is about.  This tape is strong but the liner is nice and thin so it die cuts easily. I can't wait to play with my ECD glitters with this tape, because it is transparent.  No more yellow cast to our glitter peel-off snowmen!

Today's post is a quick one -- a Wine Bottle Tag I made for Thanksgiving.

Stampin' Up Glimmer Paper is SOOO pretty - that is what I used to cut the two champagne glasses from and they sparkle and catch the light.

Owl Thanksgiving Card for Olivia

Good morning friends.

I have one last Thanksgiving card to share today - this is the one I made for our Granddaughter Olivia.

Love these Character dies by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs, and when I saw this owl patterned paper I knew I'd have to pair it with Poppy the Owl.

I didn't add Poppy's feet this time, instead perching her on a strip of fabric Washi Tape.

Fall Hello Card

Good morning friends.

Yesterday I found my printer cables in a box in the garage. I'm so excited! I used to do a lot of digital work to compliment my cards, but when I moved our computer from the dining room upstairs to the home office I stopped doing that. It just didn't make sense to go up two flights of stairs every time I wanted to print something for one of my cards.

In our new house, my printer is in the studio ... so to find the cables and get it all set up to print whenever I want is VERY exciting.  Of course I have no idea what box the printer ink refills are in though ...

It's Masculine Card Monday here on my blog, and this the final card I made for our Grandkids for Thanksgiving.

I decorated a journal card that was trimmed from one of the sheets in the paper stack, by adding orange seam binding, a die cut 'hello' and a popped up acorn sticker.

Foxy Thanksgiving Card

Good morning friends.

The past week has brought lots of progress in my studio.  I have been picking away at the boxes in the garage, and have a bin with handles that I bring out with me. If I find something in a box that MUST come into the studio, it goes into the bin and when it's full I bring it in and unpack it.  My tables and drawers have all been assembled and I'm afraid that even the MUST have stuff isn't all going to fit.

However - yesterday's haul included my brads and eyelets AND ink pads. Woot!

I have enough supplies unpacked that I've been able to make a few cards for upcoming challenges and blog posts!.

Yesterday, our eldest daughter and family came out for a visit. Then they all went for a walk with the dogs, leaving me home with our Olivia. We got lots of playtime and cuddling in and my heart is truly happy.

I had visited the Dollar Store this week and picked up a bunch of little gifts for Olivia. She will need her medicine pump swapped out every week and she is SO upset about it. It's something that will have to be done for the rest of her life, so we all want the experience to be as positive as it can be. Heather had the brilliant idea to create a Treasure Chest ... they were going to go home and paint and decorate a wooden mitten box I had, then fill it with the Treasures for her to choose something from. I was going to say that it's funny the things that make a 3 year old happy ... but who wouldn't love a Treasure Chest filled with things selected just for you!

Loving this 'Dutch the Fox'  character die set by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs. I cut him out of patterned paper, which is my favourite way to use all the Characters dies.

The green gingham is a fabric Washi Tape, a supply I'm really enjoying these days.  Ethan loves to dance to the song "What Does The Fox Say", so I penned that inside and added ... Happy Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving Cards for the Grandkids

Good morning friends.

Here are the final two cards I made for my parents to give their Great Grandkids this Thanksgiving. I wanted to use more of the stickers etc from that 12 x 12 Scrapbook Kit I bought for the kids cards this year.  This first one is for little Ilai who will be one month old on Thanksgiving Day!

Here is the second card ... I had to work that large 'Autumn' sticker into a card somehow, ha ha.

I found these 4 x 6 journal cards for a screaming deal when we were in Arizona last Spring. Of course I had to buy one package in each colour family.  I love that they are lined, which means writing a note on them much easier. I trimmed this one down to fit inside the A2 card.

Two MoreThanksgiving Cards

Good morning friends!

First the good news ... Olivia is home!!!!  They got home yesterday afternoon and she was SO excited to see her brothers (and her Gramma).  They can start their new life now, with Olivia's medications and specialized care with numerous trips to the Children's Hospital in Calgary and in Edmonton each month. But Olivia is alive and we are so grateful to have her with us.

My Mom asked me to make her Thanksgiving cards for the Grandkids (her Great Grandkids) so I did that well in advance of our move. Here are two of them ...

Last year I didn't have any cute Thanksgiving images to make their cards and had to resort to computer clip art. Ha - right now I don't even know what box my printer cables are in!.  I did pick up a fall themed 12 x 12" scrapbook kit with cute stickers included so I'd be ready for this year.

The second card uses more stickers and papers from the kit, and that wonderful Quotable die from Paper Smooches.  I hand lettered the words on the outside of this one ...

Foxy Thanksgiving Card

Good morning friends.

Big.  News.  Olivia was released from the hospital in Edmonton late yesterday afternoon!!!!  They will be home today and I just cannot wait to see them and give them all the biggest hugs ever. I am stopping for groceries so I can stock their fridge for them. Happy Dance.

Just a note, but this post is my 200th one featuring Elizabeth Craft Design products. Wow! Can you tell I'm a fan?

Sunday I was working on a project when a sweet deer wandered by the studio window.  Jasper was not nearly as impressed as I was, ha ha -- the deer skittered away from the window then looked back to figure out where all that barking is coming from.

This is the card I made for our new Grandson - who will be 4 weeks old at Thanksgiving.  I used a scrapbook kit by Doodlebug Design, which has sheets of coordinating patterned papers and a sheet of stickers that also match.  This little fox circle is one of those stickers.

I used the Lorna Label Pop Up (what? Again??) and one of Karen Burniston's newest Pop it Up Character Dies "Dutch the Fox".

This cute sticker was in the scrapbook kit, so I added some hand lettering and added it to the inside for a place to sign our names.

I added one of the little banner stickers to the pop-up platform with two brads. Then I tucked a mushroom and an acorn sticker in behind Dutch.

Looks like only the Grand-Kids will be getting Thanksgiving cards this year but I'm happy I am able to do at least that.  Fingers crossed that Olivia gets released from the hospital tonight.

I used the sketch for the front of my card ...

Before I packed away the vellum, I cut a panel of this leaf printed vellum. The adhesive is hidden under the fishtail banner and other elements.

I wanted to make it a Pop Up card, so turned to the Pop it Ups Lorna Label (yes AGAIN) for the inside.

 The felt and glittered leaves I've had in my stash for a couple of years. They worked so nicely on these cards!

Flip-It Squirrel Cards

Good morning friends!  It's Flip-it Friday here on my blog, and I have two nearly identical Flip-it cards to share today.  I made them in early November, when I received my Papertrey Ink order with that CUTE squirrel stamp/die set. I just had to try it out!

To make the cards I cut the Circle Flip-It die four times ... once from the leaf patterned paper, once from the neighborhood patterned paper and two from white card stock. The white ones are the card bases, and I cut apart the patterned ones to use for layering.

I coloured the squirrel and nut with pencils blended with mineral spirits, die cut it and popped it up on layered circles.

I usually add a punched label as a spot to sign the card. It is hidden when the card is closed.

A little hand lettering inside and the cards are finished and ready for Thanksgiving 2014.  Grin. The squirrel is pretty cute though, and I'm thinking he can be holding a heart for Valentine's day too. Or a decorated egg for Easter.  Or a balloon for a birthday .....

Banner Thanksgiving Card

As soon as I got this package home, I had to play with it. It's a 12 x 12" Scrapbook kit by Echo Park called "Fall Fever", and I made a Pop 'n Cut card. No surprise there!

The 'Give Thanks' embellishment was fussy cut from one of the journal cards in the package, I popped it up over an strip of orange textured card stock.

Once again I have to say I LOVE the way this banner looks when it's all assembled. Such a fun little die! I used scraps of the textured card stock to cut out the flags, and I attached them right to the brown base after inking the edges.

I added another label (with inked edges) as a place to add a signature and a little note. It just seemed to look better attached at an angle, so I went with it.

Sparkling Leaves Pop 'n Cut Card

Good morning friends!

I have a Thanksgiving card to share today. Even though our Canadian Thanksgiving is over, and I have enough cards for our American friends & family ...  I was in the mood to make a Thanksgiving card with this beautiful sparkling leaf paper. It's just BEAUTIFUL!

I stamped the words and a few leaves on the die cut label, added a sparkling sticker and popped it up on the front of the card with foam tape.

A friend and I were just talking about how Karen Burniston's Pop 'n Cut dies have us both looking at our 12 x 12" patterned paper with fresh eyes. I used almost the whole sheet to make this card. No leftover bits to hoard or find room for - and I'm so pleased with how the card turned out. Considering it was easy and fast to make ... it's a testimonial as to how simple the Pop 'n Cut dies are to use with wonderful results. If I do say so myself, ha ha.

I trimmed 1/2" off the top and bottom edges of the inside panel, which was cut using the Wavy Label insert and decorated with the matching Framelits. I used a couple of the leftover strips at the top and bottom of the inside, hand trimming the corners to match the outside rounded ones. I added some stamping to the inside as well ... leaves and the word gratitude.
