C4C366 Previous Sketch , Christmas Twist Card

Good morning friends

It's Saturday so that means a new challenge at the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog. Our December 2016 Hostess is Frances Byrne, and this is the last C4C Challenge of 2016.

Frances' challenge is a fun one - Create a card using your favorite “Crazy” sketch from our 2016 sketches. Check out the C4C Blog to see all the sketches in one convenient spot.

I chose Peggy's sketch C4C323, from February 2016. Click here to see that post, with all the fun takes on the original sketch.

Here is the front of my card with the sketch below it ...

Inside, I made it a Pop-Up with the Twist Circle Pop-Up by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs. See how the decoration is sideways as the card is opened?

Then it twists and pops up in the centre of the card. The centre circle seemed just perfect for the coordinating wreath sticker. I added some 'Merry Christmas' Washi Tape to the front and a small piece inside, and the matted white circle is where we can add our signature.

Check out the C4C blog to see how the Crazies have been inspired by the challenge. We'd  love to see your take on it, so be sure to stop by the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and link up your creations. If you are uploading to an online gallery, please use the keyword C4C364. Then, we will see you in the New Year! Best Wishes to all the Crazy 4 Challenges participants, Design Team and followers.

****NOTE:  I have decided to move my cards and paper crafting to Painted Mountain Cards in the New Year. I've been toying around with the idea for a long while, and this seems like a good time to make the change. I will leave this blog open, as there are frequent hits from Pinterest and over 5 years worth of cards etc to reference.

It's Saturday, and that means there is a new challenge on the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog. Our May Hostess is Barbara Anders and Wanda Cullen will joining us as our Guest designer this month.

Here is Barbara's sketch for us this week:

I decided to use a new guitar stamp & die and make a masculine Birthday card. I first saw this company (Local King Rubber Stamps) at the Mesa Rubber Stamp Show this Spring - and it's a Canadian company! I managed to pick up a couple of sets and I'm really looking forward to playing with them.

I opted for little banners in place of the buttons on the sketch.

C4C332 Sketch Pull Tab Card

Good morning friends

It's Saturday, and that means there is a new challenge on the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog. Our April  Hostess is Rebecca Ednie and the talented Teresa Kline from Paperie Blooms joining us as our Guest designer. I've been a long time fan of Teresa's so I'm excited she can join us!

Rebecca has this fun sketch for us this week:

I had fun with this sketch! I decided to make a 4 x 9" card, taking advantage of the bird design on the patterned paper. Because it's a flat, post card style card, it will fit in a regular #10 business envelope.

To make it interactive, I added the Hanging Charm Pull Tab to the top portion for the oval in the sketch. That little to-go coffee cup charm is so cute! I used a fine point marker through the stencil lines in the holder for more definition and fade out stamped the coffee beans.

When you pull the tab at the top, the frame slides up and the coffee cup dangles in the opening. This also reveals the greeting, a stamped "flying by to say" with more stamped coffee beans.

Here is a look at the back, with a doodled border and die cut coffee beans as well as a stamped greeting.

Check out the C4C blog to see how the Crazies have been inspired by the challenge. We'd sure love to see your take on it, so be sure to stop by the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and link up your creations. If you are uploading to an online gallery, please use the keyword C4C332.

Hanging Charm Pull Tab, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
What's Up Clear Stamps - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Coffee & Tea Clear Stamps - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Just a Note Clear Stamps - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Cup Pop Stand (coffee beans), Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Patterned paper - Momenta
White card stock
Stitched Scalloped border - My Favourite Things
Wooden birds - Recollections

C4C328 Sketch

Good morning friends

It's Saturday, and that means there is a new challenge on the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog. Our March Hostess is  Frances Byrne and the Guest Designer for March is Sandy Diller. Since  it's the third Saturday of the month, we have a sketch challenge:

I flipped the sketch so I could use my new A2 Centre Step die. Have to say I'm having a lot of fun with this one.

Funny story. I bought the Jelly Bean patterned paper because there are bright and cheerful Easter Eggs on the front. I actually went 'eeeeew' when I saw this print on the back side. When I get a new die I often do a test cut as I'm excited to see how it looks. This test cut was from the yellow card stock I had nearby. I couldn't believe how nicely the Jelly Bean print looked with the yellow card base. I had to take back my 'eeeeew'.

Here is a look at the inside ...

C4C 324 Sketch Card

Good morning friends

It's Saturday, and that means a new challenge on the Crazy4Challenges BlogFebruary's hostess is Peggy McCurry and the Guest Designer is Vicki Dutcher at allidoisstamp.blogspot.com

Here is Peggy's sketch for this week's Sketch Challenge:

And here is my card. I really like this layout, in fact - I purchased a Blueprints die set last Spring so I could use it more often and easily. When I was finished the card though, it just looked like it needed something else and once I added the little flags at the top right I was happier with the card. The dimensional fuzzy bunny sticker is SO cute!

Layered Butterflies

Good morning friends

It's Throwback Thursday here on my blog, and I have an older sketch card to share today.

This is another card I made for the Freshly Made Sketch Blog (FM 65) but didn't get it posted in time.

I liked the pops of red in the patterned paper, so used that as a jumping off point for the rest of the (large) card. This one is 5 x 6-1/2".

C4C 304 Sketch

Good morning friends.

It's Saturday and that means a new challenge at the Crazy 4 Challenges BlogRaquel Mason is our September Hostess, and Fran Sabad joins us as our September Guest Designer. Raquel has a sketch for us this week:

I used the sketch on the outside of my card.

Inside, I made a Pop-Up using the Lots of Pops die which is a set designed by Karen Burniston through Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Brownie the Cow was coloured with chalks, and I penned the 'I'm thinking of Moo' on the oval label. The label was stamped with my favourite dot stamp. I like the black 'smile' on the top speech balloon, it just pops!

Here is a side view so you can see the Pop-Up a little better.

Felt Snowflake Christmas Card

Good morning friends

It's Throwback Thursday here on my blog, and I have an older Christmas card to share today. It was one I made for a sketch at the Freshly Made Sketch Blog (FM 54). I didn't have trouble making the cards, just getting them uploaded to my blog.

I love this sweet stitched felt snowflake, and the snowflake printed paper is all glittered.

Oh I found the card for my Dad, that I thought I had accidentally mailed at the PO. It was in with a bunch of bills. So now I have to remember to bring it to him, ha ha.

Since it''s the third Saturday of the month, the challenge is a SKETCH CHALLENGE and I have an easy but very versatile sketch for you.

C4C286 Sketch Card

Good morning friends

It's the third Saturday of the month and that means it's a Sketch Challenge at the Crazy4Challenges Blog. Barbara Anders is our hostess for May and here is her sketch:

I stuck pretty close to the sketch, making a birthday card for our son's girlfriend who loves horses.

The balloon was cut from patterned paper and transparency, then layered with the transparency on top. I love the glossy shine from the balloon as the card is turned. When my friend "B" was visiting me in Arizona, she had just purchased this balloon die set by Lawn Fawn. I tried not to succumb to the temptation, but seeing how many birthday cards I make in a year I decided to add that set to my collection too.  :-)

I used my MISTI (Most Incredible Stamping Tool Invented) to stamp the words inside. Because the stamp is so large, I wanted to be sure I got a good impression. Even with careful inking and pressure, there were spots that didn't stamp properly ... but with the MISTI I was able to re-stamp directly over the first image for a perfect impression! That tool is worth EVERY penny.

Check out the blog to see how the Crazies have been inspired by the challenge.  We'd sure love to see your take on it, so be sure to stop by the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and link up your creations. If you are uploading to an online gallery, please use the keyword C4C286.

C4C278 Eiffel Tower Sketch Card

It's Saturday and that means a new challenge at the Crazy4Challenges Blog. Our hostess for March is Anja de Regt, and her Guest Designer is Andrea Murdock (My Stamping Heaven)

This week we have a sketch, and I did something completely different. I put the sketch on the inside of my card!  I used the new Eiffel Tower Pop Stand, by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Here is a look at the sketch, so you can see that I did a good job of following it. So not like me. Heh.

I added the embossed detail to the platforms and the tower itself. The platforms also got the Glitter Glue treatment.

Below is the front of the card. I added panels that would hide the two small holes that form the tabs to animate the Eiffel Tower. The back was left as is. I used one of the new Paris Edges to create that tiny Eiffel Tower, and inlaid it into the blue mottled panel. The lace at the top is printed on the paper and it's embossed and glittery. So I added Stickles to the Eiffel tower and outlined the cloud with it as well.

Into my stash, as this one is for my parents to give our middle daughter for her May Birthday.

Check out the blog to see how the Crazies have been inspired by the challenge.  We'd sure love to see your take on it, so be sure to stop by the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and link up your creations. If you are uploading to an online gallery, please use the keyword C4C278.
