C4C 320 Challenge Card

Good morning friends

It's Saturday and that means a new challenge on the Crazy4Challenges Blog:  The 19th January was National Popcorn Day, so let's add some 'POP' to our cards be it by creating a card that includes the theme popcorn; creating a Pop Up Card; just Popping up your image using foam tape or just adding a Pop of color to a black & white card.

Popcorn is my favourite food on the planet. AND I have more than one popcorn stamp ... but I needed to be making Valentines so instead went with a Pop-Up Card.

This will be the Valentine for our Granddaughter, who at 4 will be able to read the word LOVE on the front.

Not only had I pre-cut dozens of Christmas card bases with an older Karen Burniston Pop 'n Cut die, I found three pre-cut bases in my Valentine card box. Managed to use two of them up this year though!

I had made our Grandson's Valentine's first and since they have a robot on them Olivia's had to have a robot as well. I added strips of Washi tape and doodled the dangling hearts.

Check out the C4C blog to see how the Crazies have been inspired by the challenge. We'd sure love to see your take on it, so be sure to stop by the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and link up your creations. If you are uploading to an online gallery, please use the keyword C4C320.

Valentine Hot Air Balloon Pop-Up Card

Good morning friends

I have a Valentine card to share today, that is also a Pop-Up card. The front has this super sparkly heart patterned paper and a soft seam binding bow.

Inside I used the new Hot Air Balloon Pop-Up and one of the Pull Card Edges - both brand new sets by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs. They will be shipping later this month!

I'm really excited about the Hot Air Balloon ... and the little Pop-Up platform that comes with it is useful for putting little Pop-Ups on lots of different cards with different card sizes! I added some pen work to the card, and Zentangle inspired pen work to the lower balloon and basket. The cloud dies also come with the Hot Air Balloon.

This was one of the cards on display in the Elizabeth Craft Designs booth at CHA this past week!

Zentangle Rectangle Pull Card

Good morning friends

Every month my friend Sue and I pop something in the mail to each other. For December I created a Zentangle ATC as the decorative element on a Rectangle Pull Card.

A notch on the the side holds the card in the closed position, but when you pull the sides the card opens and reveals the inside decorations. I stamped a rectangle and added some glittered wooden embellishments from my stash.

It's been a busy couple of weeks. I was making CHA show samples for Karen Burniston (just WAIT til you see her new designs), shopping and wrapping gifts for the holidays, decorating, dentist and several doctor and specialist appointments. Amazing what one can cram into two weeks.

The good news is that my Rheumatologist is going to start me on a new and more powerful medication, as soon as we can get the insurance figured out. It's really REALLY expensive medication but could be the one that kicks my RA into remission. Fingers crossed!

Supplies:
Rectangle Pull Card, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Patterned paper - K and Company
Cream card stock
ATC - Zentangle.com
Embellishments - stash
Stamps - Avery Elle

Card size - standard A2

Zentangle Inspired Spiral Circle Pull Card

Good morning friends

Today's share is something a little different. I first learned of Zentangle when we were on a road trip last month. I was hooked immediately. (For more information on the art of Zentangle, click HERE).

I really wanted to try to incorporate Zentangle into a card, so cut an official Zentangle tile (beautiful stuff) into a circle before I started the pen work. Then I attached it to a black Spiral Circle Pull Card.

My friend Sue and I live in different cities, and we often pop something in the mail to each other on the first of each month.  I knew she would appreciate the work that went into drawing the tile, so I embellished the card front a little and decided to give it to her.

I used one of Karen Burniston's embossing folders on the left, and drew lines a white narrow rectangle for the right side.

Inside I tangled the borders on each of the circles and stamped a greeting.

I had the opportunity to hand deliver the card to her as we were passing through her city on our Road Trip, and it turns out she had also been interested in starting with Zentangle. So she REALLY appreciated the card, which made me feel good.
