Thanksgiving Flip-It Card Duo

Good morning friends, and welcome to Flip-It Friday here on my blog.

I found these resin circle stickers in my Thanksgiving stash, and knew the Triple Circle Flip-its would be perfect to use them.

The first card uses the card die as it was intended. I added a sparkly patterned paper strip down the left side.

Inside I added some die cut leaves to the circles and we will add our greeting to the scalloped circle .

For the second card, I turned the card base horizontally and used some foiled patterned paper and other embellishments from my stash.

The card opens like an Easel card when you do it this way.

Supplies:
Brown card stock - Stash
Triple Circle Flip-Its - Sizzix
Patterned paper - Recollections
All Seasons Tree (leaves), Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Resin circle stickers - Recolletions
Stamped words - The AlleyWay Stamps

Acorns - K & Company

Acorn Thanksgiving Cards

Good morning friends

My quest to Use Things Up continues, so my share today is completed acorn cards. The acorns had been stamped, water coloured and layered several years ago ... they were just sitting there waiting for me to mount them on a completed card.

The beautiful pre-glittered leaves were in my embellishment stash and they worked out really nicely for these two cards.

I added a little glitter to the acorns once the cards were finished and they were ready to mail out for Thanksgiving this year.

Supplies:
Beige Astroparche card stock
Patterned paper - K & Company
Rectangle and circle dies - Spellbinders
Acorn stamp - PSX?
Water colour pencils
Fun foam
Gold stickles
Glittered leaves - K & Company
Card size - A2

C4C311 - Thanksgiving Pop-Up Card

Good morning friends

Joanne writes:  "November has arrived and that means there is a new hostess for the Crazy4Challenges......and that would be me, Joanne/Jojot!!!  I am so very excited to announce that our Guest Designer for November will be the fabulous Karen Dunbrook.  Her talents are often on display at Splitcoast, and her specialty is CAS along with incredible and innovative background effects.

Here is the challenge........ Let’s add to our Thanksgiving/Fall card stash by creating cards of thanks using the traditional colors of the season.  For those of you ‘down under’ you may certainly make Spring creations expressing thanks."

Well the Canadian Thanksgiving is in October, but since Joanne posted her challenges nice and early, I was able to make this card for my parents, give it to them for Thanksgiving and save the post for today.

The patterned paper has lovely gold foil accents, and of course I made it a Pop it Ups card. Some of the embellishments were fussy cut from a similar patterned paper in the same stack.

Here is a side view so you can better see the Pop-Up portion.

Check out the C4C blog to see how the Crazies have been inspired by the challenge. We'd sure love to see your take on it, so be sure to stop by the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and link up your creations. If you are uploading to an online gallery, please use the keyword C4C311.

Supplies:
Cream card stock
Patterned paper - Recollections
Labels and words - Reverse Confetti
Lorna Label Pop-Up, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)

Pumpkin Thanksgiving Cards

Good morning friends

I have a couple of Thanksgiving cards to share today.

These were older cards, the pumpkins had been water coloured and the patterned panels all cut. I just needed to assemble them, stamp a greeting inside and they were ready to send out this year.

C4C309 Barn Pop Stand Happy Harvest

Good morning friends

It's Saturday and that means a new challenge at the Crazy 4 Challenges BlogJessie Rone is our Hostess for October, with Tangii Crain as our Guest Designer. Jessie's challenge is a colour challenge: Rust, Hunter Green and Sun Yellow (Think Fall Leaves)

I was so happy with how this card turned out! It was the Thanksgiving card we gave to our eldest Daughter, who would dearly love to live on a farm.

Initially I had planned on doing a single layer card, but the patterned paper cracked badly at the fold so I had to add Scotch Tape to reinforce it, then layer patterned paper panels over the front and back. I ended up liking the look though, so it's all good. I loved the shiny, embossed texture on the front panel. I added the little vellum, beaded sunflower stickers as well.

Inside it's a Barn Pop Stand ... and when you open the barn doors there is a rooster inside the barn.

The sunflower stickers were added so I could get some green in for the challenge. :-) The other embellishments were fussy cut from a different sheet of paper from the stack.

Check out the C4C blog to see how the Crazies have been inspired by the challenge. We'd sure love to see your take on it, so be sure to stop by the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and link up your creations. If you are uploading to an online gallery, please use the keyword C4C309.

Felt Turkey Pull Cards

Good morning friends

It's Flip-It Friday here on my blog, and today's share are a couple of identical Z-fold cards for our Grandson's Ethan and Ilai.

I used the Spiral Circle Pull Card for the card bases, and added these adorable felt turkey stickers to the front circle.

The notches keep the card in the closed position until the recipient pulls the sides to open the card. Here is a peek at the inside:

While Ilai is too young to work the card, his parents will enjoy it and he will have fun waving it around and talking to it.

Supplies:
Spiral Circle Pull Card, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Confetti card stock - Office Depot
Patterned paper - Recollections
Felt Turkey's - Creatology
Accordion Circle (Scallop circle and circle), Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)

Harvest Fence Pop Stand

Good morning friends

Karen Burniston showed the Designer Challenge Team a Christmas Card she was going to teach at the Collins show ... and it totally inspired me to make this Harvest Fence Pop Stand card. You can see  Karen's card on here blog HERE.

I used one of the Merry & Bright clear stamps on the front, stamping it on the banner that comes with the Merry Christmas Pop-Up Card.

The card opens completely flat and shows off this pretty pumpkin patterned paper with a stand-up fence in the centre. So cool!

I used the silhouette pumpkin from an ECD die set, adding copper pencil crayon to the veins of pumpkin. The veins emboss when you die cut, but I wanted them to stand out a little more and I didn't want to use the overlay die that comes with the set. The fence was shaded with PanPastels before assembling. Love how it looks like real wood with the woodgrain embossing feature.

The Barn Pop Stand solid image makes a great label, and I added some die cut leaves with the pitchfork from the Hay There Pop Stand set. Another ECD pumpkin is on the right, also coloured with PanPastels and shaded with a copper pencil crayon.

Here is a side view of the fence Pop-Stand. Some of the Designer Challenge team decorate both side of the fence so no matter how you look at the card you get a nice view. I tend to decorate the front side only.

The cool thing about using a Pop Stand vs a Pop-Up, is that you don't also need a backing card. The Pop Stand 'holes' are perfect for threading a ribbon through which disguises them nicely.

Fence Pop Stand, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Hay There Pop Stand (pitch fork), Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)

Good morning friends

Today's share is a simple card made for our Grandson Zach. He is a bit of a wild man, and at 18 months not ready for a Pop-Up or interactive card yet.

I added felt embellishments to glittered card stock, as well as the stitched label from Karen Burniston's Katie Label Pivot.

I know Zachary will like his Thanksgiving card, when he stops racing around long enough to look at it!

Beige Astroparche card stock - Office Depot
Patterned paper - Recollections
Felt Stickers - Recollections
