Pretty Seasons Greetings Pop-Up Card

Good morning friends

I loved the Winter Warmth Stamp/die set (MFT Stamps) when it was released last year. Finally in late October I decided I was going to break down and order it. And it's every bit as wonderful as I'd hoped. The fact that it matches this pretty patterned paper was serendipity indeed!

Also new to me are the Swirly Scribble dies from Stampin' Up. I'm loving them! Here, I used it as a wreath.

Inside I used the Anita Frames Pop-Up by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs. I cut the outer card extra wide, cut each edge with a stitched scalloped border then wrapped them around to the inside. I do this quite often - I like how it brings the pattern and colour from the front to the inside.

Yup - I love the images from the Winter Warmth set. They just make me happy.

Truth be told, I think this is one of my favourite Christmas cards this year!

C4C356 Into the Woods

Good morning friends

It's Saturday  so that means a new challenge at the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog. Our October 2016 hostess is Caz Counsell and our Guest Designer is Heidi Green - The Crafty Goat Girl

Caz's challenge is:  Forest fun... a forest scene or your favourite forest critters.

A perfect challenge, since I've been playing with Lawn Fawn's 'Into The Woods' stamp set lately! I ordered that set when it first came out but haven't used it all that much. I LOVE it though - and also the coordinating patterned paper. Which I admit that I've been hoarding .

I cracked it out for this card. Cut right into two different sheets - held my breath - and the world continued to spin. Sheesh. Seriously though - when it's gone it's gone and that freaks me out. It will be awhile before I can bring myself to use more of it up.

The oval from the Anita Frames Pop-Up worked perfectly for the greeting on the front.

Inside there are birch trees (as in a forest of birch trees!) and those sweet stamped critters.  I used the Anita Frames Pop-Up for the inside - it's such a fun Pop-Up to use.

To get the brown scalloped edges, I simply cut long brown scraps using the edge of Els' Dotted Scalloped Rectangles. Worked like a charm - going to use that technique again for sure!

Finally, a view from the top.

Check out the C4C blog to see how the Crazies have been inspired by the challenge. We'd  love to see your take on it, so be sure to stop by the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and link up your creations. If you are uploading to an online gallery, please use the keyword C4C356.

Holiday Pop-Up Card with Ornaments

Good morning friends

I've been having so much fun using the Anita Frames Pop-Up to make Holiday Cards. So much WOW when you open these cards!

The patterned paper has embossed glittery bits, but cracked along the spine when I scored and folded it. To remedy that, I added some paper tape (medical, Micropore tape) along the inner fold. The paper was cut to 12 x 6" but as I often do when the patterned outer card is larger than the inner card, is I folded the edges to the inside.

I kept the outside fairly simple, stamping the words on a scalloped panel and adding a cardinal cut from red glittered paper (thanks 'B'!)

Inside you can see the amazing Anita Frames Pop-Up, and how bringing the patterned paper over to the inside brings the pattern and colours in as well.

I used an ornament die from Elizabeth Craft Designs to decorate on of the labels, and a stamped stitched circle for the other.

Supplies:
Patterned paper - My Minds Eye
Anita Frames Pop-Up, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Red card stock - Bazzill
White card stock
Ornament Set 2 - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Elizabeth Craft Designs Adhesive, 1/2", 1/8" and 2-1/2" widths
Copics
Dotted Scallop Rectangles - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Front stamp - Taylored Expressions
Cardinals - Impression Obsession
Labels and Circles, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Inside stamp - My Favorite Things
Bakers Twine

Fullers Anniversary Card

Good morning friends

I think it's kind of cool what you can do with limited supplies, when you have some great generic dies to help you out. We were visiting Arizona for a few days in July where I have a few things, but certainly not a fully stocked craft room.

I used this patterned paper to make a 'Get Well' card for a friend that I shared earlier, and again for this Anniversary card.

Poinsettia Pop-Up Card

Good morning friends

I have a Christmas card to share today. Because it's a Pop-Up card, I kept the outside fairly simple, with some stamping, a 3-d sticker and gold Peel-Off's.

I had one small piece of this pretty holiday patterned paper, but it was enough to finish the card using the Anita Frames Pop-Up. Karen Burniston's dies are so creative ... and take your cards to the next level with all the cutting and scoring done for you.

The Anita Frames Pop-Up makes a WOW card, don't you think?

Get Well Pop-Up Card (NEW RELEASE)

Good morning friends

We went to Arizona for a few days last month and I wanted to bring a neighbour a Get Well Card. She was recovering from her 51st surgery!! Since I'd just received Karen Burniston's NEW RELEASE dies, I pulled out the Anita Frames and some patterned paper.

When I finished the card, I thought I'd leave the front blank to show the pattern but in the end I added a stitched label from the Labels and Circles set, then hand lettered her name on the front. I didn't take another photo of the front though.

This Anita Frames Pop-Up just never ceases to amaze. I don't have a lot of supplies in Arizona, but the card still turned out great. And I finally got to use the crown that comes with the set! I cut away the crown from the inner patterned paper allowing the white backing card to show through, then adhered one of the cut-out crowns on the left side of the pop out frame.

On a personal note, we are almost at the end of the packing. We rented out our cabin and had only 3 weeks to pack up a 3000 sq ft house. I have boxes of stuff all over our house, upstairs and down, but the pressure will be off and I can pick away at the boxes here in the next little while.

I had a small craft area at our cabin, which didn't sound too bad but I already downsized a LOT when we moved here and there is not an extra square inch of space in my craft room. I've been trying to stuff the items that I had out there into my craft room and came across dozens (DOZENS!!) of 'cards in progress'. I guess I kept bringing them out there to finish but never did. I'm going to have to start working on them to whittle down that pile, and of course figure out how to make them into Pop-Up cards if possible.

Supplies:
Anita Frames, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Agatha Edges, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Patterned paper - Basic Grey
General Sentiments - Joset, Elizabeth Craft Designs
Fine point marker
Prismacolor Pencils

Harvest Apple Pop-Up Card - NEW RELEASE!

Good morning friends

I have a fall card to share today, using pretty papers from my stash and the new Anita Frames Pop-Up by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs. Because the inside of a pop-up card has all the WOW, I tend to keep the card fronts fairly simple.

This one uses Els' Scallop and Dots rectangles, some pretty patterned paper and a seam binding bow.

The Anita Frames Pop-Up is very cool. It's completely generic and can be used for many themes and occasions. It looks really complicated but in fact it's quite easy to assemble. Note, these dies are now shipping to retailers and are available on the Elizabeth Craft Designs web site. YAY!

All in all I was quite happy with how this card turned out, considering it went together so quickly. Into my stash for Thanksgiving.

Supplies:
Beige Astroparche card stock
Anita Frames Pop-Up, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Patterned paper - K & Company
Embellishments - K & Company
Green card stock - Stamping Up
Happy Fall - Verve
Rectangle Scallops and Dots - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Stitched Rectangles - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Seam Binding

"Oh What Fun" Christmas Card

Good morning friends

I have a holiday card to share today, using the new Anita Frames Pop-Up by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs. Here is the front of the card...

This time, I used the die to create a VERTICAL card instead of a horizontal one. So fun, the different looks you can get from this amazing new die.

I added die cut banners and cute embellishments from my stash.

A stamped greeting and a Bakers Twine bow finished off the card.

Holiday Snowflakes Pop-Up Card - NEW RELEASE

Good morning friends

I have another Christmas card to share today, using the Anita Frames Pop-up - one of the NEW RELEASE dies by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs.

While it's hard to see in the photo, the snowflake patterned paper has gold foiled bits, as does the green printed paper that the banners were die cut from. I also added a gold thread through the banners (which come with the Anita Frames Pop-Up).

This Pop-Up has a LOT of wow when the card is opened.

While you can always choose the size of your card with a Pop it Ups, I wanted to show how nicely this Pop-Up works with an A2 sized card.

Into my holiday card stash with this one!

Supplies:
Patterned paper - DCWV
White card stock
Merry & Brignt Clear Stamps - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)

Love Bats, a Pop-Up Card (NEW RELEASE)

Good morning friends

I am so happy to share today's card with you. It's been made for almost a month, in fact - it went to the Trade Show with Els in July to showcase some of Karen Burniston's NEW RELEASE which should be shipping mid-August. The front has the spooky branch and stamped greeting, and look at those cute little bats! The small bat image is on the Halloween Clear Stamps, and Midnight the Bat (the latest Character die) comes with a small bat die that perfectly cuts out the stamped bat leaving a narrow white border.

LOVE that 'spooky' branch - it's so fun!

Here is the inside, using Midnight the Bat, Soft Finish Card Stock and the new Anita Frames Pop-Up. I have to say, this is one cool Pop-up. It's completely generic and can be used for any theme or occasion.

When we get the sample dies, there is no packaging.  I took some scrap card stock to cut the Anita Frames the first time, and looked at all those cuts and score lines and thought ... oh my. Then, simply by looking at the card sample Karen Burniston had for the Designer Challenge team, I figured it out. Karen B then filmed a video and honestly DO NOT be intimidated. It is easy peasy but what a WOW factor. After the first time I folded it on that scrap card stock - correctly, it didn't even phase me for subsequent cards. Easy Peasy I tell you.

And how CUTE is Midnight the bat? The Designer Challenge team is pretty much in love with Midnight.

I had seen something on Pinterest last year, that said "I love you to the Moon and Bat".  So glad I remembered that phrase as it worked perfectly to hand letter with my Midnight Bat couple.

Now here are just some different views of the card ...

I was SO happy with how this card turned out - it's one of my favourite makes.
