Mixed Accordion Gift Card Holder

Good morning friends!

I loved making this card ... in fact, it was one of the very first things I made when Karen Burniston sent us her newest release. The 'Oval Landscape Accordion' is one of the newest additions to the Pop it ups Accordion family and I paired it here with the 'Gift Card Accordion' for the card base. Note - everything but the new Clear Stamps are available now in the Elizabeth Craft Designs Store!! Be sure to check your local retailers and see when their orders might be in so you can get your hands on these dies as well.

The front also has the new 'Trellis Wavy Frames' and the new 'Barrel Basket with Pop Up' filled with hearts (from the new 'Oval Pull Card'). Love this Barrel Basket die!

Here is the card opened up ... and you get your first peek at the new 'Baker the Beaver'. He is just SO cute and I will be using him a lot.  I combined the Oval Landscape Accordion with the Gift Card Accordion so you could add a gift card in the slots.

I tied a little 'hello' heart onto the centre frame with Bakers Twine - the heart is from my new favourite Pop it Ups die set the 'Hanging Charm Pull Tab'. The 'hello' is from the new 'Cheeky Monkey Clear Stamps'. On the back side of the heart, I stamped 'Sweetie' from the new 'Just a Note Clear Stamps'

Because I cut the Trellis Wavy Frame from adhesive backed paper, I had all of these little adhesive backed tile shaped pieces leftover. I added one on the back of the Bakers Twine to help keep it in place and kept all the others for ... who knows what. Ha!

Finally, because I know people like to see the back side of an Accordion card ... here you go.

Heart Pivot Anniversary Card and Tent Gift Card Holder

Good morning friends

I have a gift set to share today, that we gave to our friends who are celebrating their 40th Wedding Anniversary.

For their card, I used the Heart Pivot, a Pop it Ups die by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft designs. While this die works for all kinds of different occasions - it is also perfect for Anniversary cards!

I added some pen work and fussy cut flowers to use as embellishments. Here is the front of the card:

And here is the card opened. I just love how much WOW you get from a Pivot Card! The decorated hearts pivot into the card as it is opened.

The stitched label is where we wrote our message and signed our names.

We also wanted to give them a little something, but we knew they'd be gifted with a lot of wine. Instead we gave them a gift card to a restaurant they go to frequently so they can treat themselves to dessert.

I LOVE the Tent Card that fellow teammate Frances Byrne came up with so wanted to make another one of those. Yet another way to use your Accordion dies! I used the Gift Card Accordion for this one, and a fussy cut flower was the only embellishment.

Usually when I make a Tent Card, I stamp a greeting on a decorated panel on the back. For this one though, I kept it really simple and wrote our message under the gift card.

Remember to check the Elizabeth Craft Designs Blog later this morning, when Karen Burniston has her post for the November 2015 Designer Challenge!

Embossed Anniversary Card

Good morning friends

It's Throwback Thursday here on my blog, and I have an older Anniversary Card to share. A couple of times a year I find a bunch of card photos that never got posted and I didn't want to just delete them. Thus Throwback Thursday.

I used an embossing folder and a pre-cut card, then inked selected embossed areas and outlined the stitched label shape with a Stardust pen.

Here is a look at the inside, where I penned the anniversary greeting before mailing the card.

Simple Anniversary Card

Good morning friends

Today I have an easy peasy Anniversary card. I had the patterned paper sheet out for a different project, and I thought this section of the paper would make a cute card front.

I added some black chevron Washi Tape to the lower edge, the die cut 'Sending', and stamped 'you both happiness' on the label that was already printed on the patterned paper. Done!

This was for my parents to send our eldest for their anniversary, as my Mom can't get out shopping for cards easily. I like to keep her supplied with cards.

Supplies:
Card and envelope - the Paper Studio
Patterned paper - DCWV
Washi tape
Sending die and words - Simon Says Stamps
Black card stock
Elizabeth Craft Designs Transparent Double Sided Adhesive
Printer for words inside

Pivot Anniversary Card

Good morning friends

I have an Anniversary card to share today, using the Katie Label Pivot die by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs.

I made the card a little larger so I could use the pretty Paris Edges on the side edges for a different look.

Here is the inside - I chose to use double sided patterned paper, and keep the pretty butterfly design for the inside. This Katie Label Pivot die set is by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs.

I love that Pivot Cards are easy to make, but carry a huge WOW factor when the card is opened and the design pivots from the front to the inside.

Sometimes, if the patterned paper is too lightweight, I add backing strips inside the spine giving the card more stability as I did here. The small butterfly on the right was made with the inner hearts from the right Label and a small piece of a Peel-Off Border.

This will be on it's way to my In-Laws shortly, as they celebrate their special day.

Supplies:
Katie Label Pivot, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Heart Pivot (Solid Heart), Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Accordion Rectangle (Open Hearts), Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
343 Assorted Word Peel-Off's, Elizabeth Craft Designs
1167Assorted Borders Peel-Off, Elizabeth Craft Designs
Patterned paper - K & Co
Cream textured card stock - stash
Card size - 5-1/2 x 5-3/4"

Love Bears Anniversary Card

Good morning friends

Today's share is an Anniversary card I made for our eldest daughter and her hubby.  I had just received the LOVE die as a free with purchase gift and thought it would be perfect for an Anniversary. Of course I made it a Pop it Ups card, and I usually keep the fronts fairly simple as all the fun is on the inside.

I used the Lucy Label Pop up on the inside, adding puffy stickers to the bump outs. I knew that the Grandkids would want to look at the card and they would also enjoy the fun critters.

Here is a side view so you can see the pop up portion a little better ...

I used a small Peel-Off on the bookplate sticker, which was also part of the paper package.

Some stitched scalloped edges and another LOVE die cut and the card was done and ready to mail.

Supplies:
Lucy Label Pop Up, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
LOVE die - My Favorite Things
Stitched Scalloped Border die - My Favorite Things
Vertical Stitched Strips - My Favorite Things
Patterned paper & Bookplate sticker - Basic Grey
White card stock
343 Assorted Words Peel Off's - Elizabeth Craft Designs

C4C284 Healthy Vision - the Eye's Have It

Good morning friends

It's the first Saturday of a new month, and that means a new challenge at the Crazy4Challenges Blog and a new hostess. Barbara Anders will be our May Hostess, and we have a new Guest Designer as well. Welcome to Broni Holcomb, Splashes of Watercolor

Here is Barbara's challenge:

There are ALL kinds of "holidays" anymore, have you noticed? One of the "monthly" observances for May (in the US, at least) is Healthy Vision Month. I know we're all aware of how precious vision is, so let's celebrate it this week. Your project should have something related to vision or eyes on it. Use your imagination--the "eyes" have it this week!

I went with Honey the Bear for this challenge, adding some sparkly spectacles from the Props 1 die set.

Then I added Honey to a Spiral Circle Flip Card and made an anniversary card for my hubby.

The tuck slots keep the card in the closed position (my favourite thing about this die set) until it's pulled open.

I'll write him a nice corny message inside.

Check out the blog to see how the Crazies have been inspired by the challenge.  We'd sure love to see your take on it, so be sure to stop by the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and link up your creations. If you are uploading to an online gallery, please use the keyword C4C284.

Centre Step Anniversary Card

Good morning friends

I have an Anniversary Card to share today, that I made for my parent's 57th Anniversary.  I haven't used my Center Step die set nearly enough - so I pulled it out to make this card.

It cuts the card base as well as the layers, which makes it quick and easy.  I chose this beautiful red patterned paper, adding panels to the outside ...

... and the inside ...

There was a leftover strip of the pretty red patterned paper, and that is what I used to make the Christmas Tags I posted HERE.

Supplies:
Center Step Die - Cheery Lynn
White card stock
Patterned paper - DCWV
Butterfly Punch - Stampin' Up
7018 Glitter Dots in Red and Gold - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Word Stamps - The Stamps of Life

C4C273 Amethyst Valentine

Good morning friends

It's Saturday, and that means a new challenge at the Crazy4Challenges Blog!  Our February Hostess is Kelli Hull and this is her challenge:

"This week we will celebrate Amethyst, the birth stone for February.... Purple, is also my favorite color and of course it IS the color of Royalty.... just sayin'!!!!  Let's create ANOTHER Valentine's Day card."

I'm afraid I don't really do too much with purple ... and I didn't have anything remotely purple that would work for Valentine's Day. This patterned paper was as close as I could get.  Ha - I didn't make a Valentine, either - but an Anniversary card. Pretty close, right?  Sheesh.

This was one of those cards that gave me grief.  There was a 'Stickles accident' on the lower left, so I had to add a bunch of puffy heart stickers to try to mask the oops. Of course, the accident happened AFTER the rest of the card was finished and assembled, so I couldn't just toss it and start over.

I used one of the decorator dies from the Heart Pivot set to cut a window in the pink panel, then backed it with a piece of embossed Shimmer Sheetz. Then I outlined the edge with Stickles glitter glue.

Inside the card I used the Lorna Label Pop Up, another of the decorator dies from the Heart Pivot, more Stickles, Shimmer sheets and a small die cut Shimmer Sheetz heart. While it's hard to see in the photo, there is a row of tiny die cut hearts on the box platform, that is also backed with Shimmer Sheetz. They catch the light when the card is opened.

One of the Outdoor Edges was used to cut away the top and bottom edge of the pop up and I added Glitter Glue to those edges as well.

Since I also make the cards for my parents to send - this is from them for our middle daughter and her husband's anniversary.

Check out the blog to see how the Crazies have been inspired by the challenge.  We'd sure love to see your take on it, so be sure to stop by the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and link up your creations. If you are uploading to an online gallery, please use the keyword C4C273.

Supplies used:
Row of Hearts die - Lawn Fawn
Patterned paper - Basic Grey
Stickles Glitter Glue
Puffy Heart stickers - K & Company

Rectangle Accordion Anniversary Card

Good morning friends

I have an Anniversary Card to share today, that I made for our middle daughter and her husband. I used the new Rectangle Accordion die, by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs. I also used the new Katie Flourish Frame Edges.

Here is a look at the card closed ...

... and open ...

I added some chipboard embellishments that matched the colours in the patterned paper, then stamped and die cut a little Happy Anniversary banner.  We will write our greeting below the 'love' embellishment.

I added some patterned papers to the back side of the pivoting rectangle, which is entirely optional but I liked the way it looks on this card.

The Katie Flourish Frame Edges were so easy to adhere. I added the new Elizabeth Craft Designs transparent double sided tape to the back of the patterned paper, then die cut the edges. That made them into a sticker, so that made things easy peasy!

I am really liking this Rectangle Accordion - there is so much real estate for decorating.

Don't forget to head over to the Elizabeth Craft Design's Blog later this morning and check out Karen Burniston's post for her Designer Challenge.
