Christmas Card In A Box and a Puppy Gift

Today's share is the Christmas card I made for friends and hand delivered along with a coordinating little gift for their furry kids. After the photos were taken, I penned our message on the back circle.

This is a card that looks way better in real life, when the light catches the gold foiled bits on the patterned paper.

I packaged it in a clear envelope - and in this photo you get a better look at the foiled bits.

I actually use the 'Get A Handle On It' die often, but don't usually take photos. This time I remembered. I packaged up some treats in a clear envelope decorated with Washi Tape, then added the patterned paper topper and tag.

Ladybug Birthday In A Box Card

Today is the day that Karen Burniston has her Designer Challenge post on her  BLOG - be sure to check out her card for the challenge GLITTER.

My share today was made for a paper crafting friend. I wanted to use a couple of dies that I know she has, as it's always fun to see how someone else uses your tools and she had requested a Card In A Box. When you know someone appreciates it, you enjoy putting a lot of effort into their card!

I took lots of photos, so you can see the different views.

The black butterfly body and the black sections of the ladybugs were cut from black velvet. I added a picket fence around the perimeter, under the box flaps.

Just for fun, I also decorated the underside of the flaps with coordinating blocks from a sheet of patterned paper in the same stack.

Because the card was being hand delivered, I was able to package it up in a clear cello bag. That is my favourite way to package this type of card.

1st Birthday In A Box Card

Today's share is a card I made for our Great Niece for her first birthday.

I used lots of sparkly embellishments and the patterned paper is glittered as well. Fit for a little Princess!

I do love this die, and even though it's a BigZ die and takes up a lot of storage space - I'm glad I bought it.

Halloween Box Card

Good morning friends

My friend Sue and I have started back popping something in the mail to each other on the first of each month. I had this set of Chipboard Halloween stickers and really wanted to use them for her project. So for our October First mailing I made a Card In A Box!

The stickers that overhang were brushed on the back side with baby powder. I have lots of photos to show, both of the flaps and the decorated box base under each flap.

I added a few more chipboard stickers on the back panel, which was coloured with Pan Pastels and is where I wrote my little note to her.

Purple Floral In A Box Card

Good morning friends

I have a pretty birthday card to share today, using the Card In A Box die. I have mentioned before how long I waited for this die to be in-stock and it was worth paying the Big Shipping Bucks for it, as it's a Bigz die rather than a wafer thin die.

This is actually the very first card I made with the die - and I've put it away for my Mother In Law's birthday as she loves flowers.

There are layers of 3-d flower and butterfly stickers, as well as some gold Peel-Off's I had in my stash.  I added a white panel on the back for us to write our message on.

One of the coolest things about these cards, is that it folds to fit into a standard A2 envelope! Below is the card all folded up and ready to be mailed. I will add a panel of packaging foam to the front and some extra postage, because of all the bulk from the gems and layered stickers.

Note, I am having a terrible time with Blogger the past week or so. My curser completely disappears when I am trying to write my post, some photos will not load, and the spacing continues to be all wonky. Sorry about that and I hope they fix the issues soon!

Ilia's First Birthday Card

Good morning friends

I have a new die - one I've had my eye on since it first came out. When it was in-stock again, I ordered it right away. It's the 'Card In A Box' die by Sizzix. I have made several of them already but will show those another time. This one though, is the card I made for Ilai's First Birthday.

I used the ECD Alphabet die for his name and the word 'one'. The Disney stickers and patterned paper were in my stash, and I used a couple of different Blueprints dies for the embellishments.

The 'Happy Birthday' and borders are ECD Peel-Off's.

The back is where we will write our message.

I love that it folds up and fits into an envelope. Because I added a higher element on the top, this one requires a larger than A2 envelope. I found a nice red one to put the card in for Ilai.
