When Seniors Secret Service asked for a special Birthday card this month, I turned to Karen Burniston's new Pop it Ups dies. Norma is turning 100, and I think the Heart Pivot die makes this card extra special.
The card is about 5-1/2" square, and I added 2 layered hearts to the envelope. These are the Decorator Dies that come with the Heart Pivot!
I used both of the Agatha Edges; the rounded one on the front of the card and the more pointed one on the back. Now this embossed heavyweight paper was attached to the white card stock, and those dies cut through them like butter. I was so impressed! I outlined the outer edges with a gold marker to make them a little more prominent.
I die cut a long label and the letters for her name, and added two gold dots to the label. These dots are actually the centers of a circle border Peel-Off that I used on a different card. They add some metallic shine without adding any bulk.
This next picture gives you a better idea of how embossed and shiny the patterned paper is...
When you are making a Pop it Ups Pivot Card, whatever design or pattern you have on the inside of the card shows through when the heart pivots to the front. You can also place the die wherever you want it on the fold ... for this card I placed it towards the top so I could keep most of the floral cluster on the right side of the card intact.
I added some hand lettering and die cut numbers ...
.
.. and an acetate butterfly sticker. A smaller label was added over the floral cluster for a place to pen a little note and signature.
Here is the card from the back and below that is the top view. (I added the circle 'Karen's Creations' sticker to the back before I took the photo ... usually I remember to wait until after.)
I hope Norma has a really special day - Seniors Secret Service will make sure that she gets her card and a birthday gift as well.
