Good morning frirends!
Instead of a Flip-It card today, I am sharing an Accordion card. I make quite a few of these, but never seem to get them posted.
Els designed some wonderful new Peel-Offs to coordinate with several Pop it Ups dies by Karen Burniston. I finally had a chance to play with them, and chose the ones that go with the Fancy Label Accordion.
First, I placed the silver Peel-Off's on water colour paper, and coloured them with Tombow Markers, a Blending Palette (plastic) and a water brush. When they were dry, I fussy cut them and added two to the Accordion panels.
The third one got a good coating of Glossy Accents and I left it overnight to dry.
In the morning, the glossy accented piece was badly bowed, and when I tried to flatten it back out the glossy coating cracked. Which is fine, I'll end up rubbing brown ink into the cracks for a vintage look but for now the piece is in my 'Odds and Sods' pile.
The two water coloured labels fit perfectly on the Fancy Label Accordion - it's so fun that Els has some coordinating Peel-Offs now! I have some more of these on order, since I was so happy with how this one turned out.
I really like the frame edger dies that Karen B designed ... such a fun way to add colour. Since I don't have a small Xyron, I add double sided adhesive to the back of the card stock, then cut the frames. They are much easier to stick down than using a glue pen on the more delicate frame edgers.
I added the scalloped frame pieces to the back right panel as well, as when the Accordion card is folded up to put in the envelope, this is the side that shows:
This is the back of the closed card ...
The card is going to a friend for her June birthday. She has never seen an accordion card, and I know she is going to be amazed when she opens it. :-)
I'll probably add orange birthday words on one of the turquoise panels when I go to send the card.
