Karen Burniston's Designer Challenge for May 2014 - FLY (2nd)

Good morning friends!

This is my 2nd card for Karen Burniston's Designer Challenge. This month the theme is "FLY" so I went with birds/birdhouses. And of course I used Karen's new House Pivot die!

I love square cards. I especially love 4-1/4" square cards, because they fit into a Standard A2 envelope and require NO extra postage!!

The bird, the clouds and the tree were all fussy cut from patterned paper in the same stack. I have used almost the whole package of this paper, there are just a few sheets left. It s great to use things up!

I love the little fence pickets that come with the House Pivot - and note that they can also be used as a candle so you can get double duty from this die!  I cut a 2nd fence portion from Kraft card stock and attached it at the back to stabilize the fence a little better since the patterned paper I used wasn't all that heavy.

Because all the dies in the Pop it Ups collection work together, I used the scalloped and small circle dies from the Circle Accordion set for the birdhouse.

Be sure to check out all the designer projects for the 'FLY' theme using Pop it UPs dies, and watch for Karen Burniston's project on the Elizabeth Craft Designs Blog tomorrow (Wednesday).
