Good morning friends!
It's 'Flip-It Friday' on my blog, and today's share is a Z-fold card made using the Spiral Circle Pull Card (SCPC) die by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs. I LOVE THIS DIE. Ha - just in case you didn't know that already. This is a brand new die set from the Summer 2014 Release - shipping to local retailers now. I've had it for several weeks and have put it through quite a work out. The versatility is amazing.
There are several circle Peel-Offs that Els designed to work with the Accordion Circle Album, and since the circle on the SCPC die is the same size as that one (3") those Peel-Off's work perfectly here too. I adhered it to 90# water colour paper and coloured it in with Tombow Markers and a wet brush.
Then I fussy cut it out and popped it up on the front circle on foam tape.
The SCPC is a step-up from simple Flip or Z style cards, but even easier to use. YOU get to decide on the size of card, and where on the score line you place the animation. You can choose to cut the spiral right into the circle or separately, as I did here. There are even little notches to hold the card in the closed position until the recipient pulls the sides to open the card. (Pull card - get it?)
The largest flower is also in the Summer 2014 release … called Crystal Flowers. There are beautiful overlays that create stunning flowers, but for this card I used the solid die only. The shape reminds me of a Wild Rose (our provincial flower).
The spiral was decorated with lots of flowers and some leaves. The paper stack I used had a sheet of patterned squares so I was able to cut a bunch of coordinating prints using only a small section of the paper!
Because I wanted a place to add a little note and signature, I die cut a label then scored it down the centre. It was glued inside the centre fold and is hidden when the card is closed.
