It's Masculine Card Monday here on my blog, and I have a fun card to share today. Well, actually I made a DOZEN of these cards to donate to Seniors Secret Service this week. (Click HERE to read more about the organization).
The cards are 4 x 6", which means I can get three card bases from a single sheet of 12 x 12" scrapbook paper. This Basic Grey paper I've had for a couple of years, and I think it worked nicely for masculine cards.
Working assembly line style made these fairly quick to put together. One evening I simply cut out all the bases. Another evening I cut out the mustache's and stamped/cut the banners. Then it was a matter of assembly and - ta da - twelve cards made for a worthy cause.
The mustache dies just crack me up, and that Happy Birthday banner is from the flags and banners stamps & dies set I use so frequently. Once again I lined the cards with a white card stock liner (8.5 x 3.5") and I inked the edges to grunge them up a bit. This gave the cards a little more stability.
I didn't photograph all 12 of the cards - just the top three from the pile. These ones just make me happy, and I'm sure the senior's who receive them will enjoy the fun, old fashioned mustaches.
Supplies used:
Patterned paper - Basic Grey
White card stock - Office Depot
Black card stock and Kraft card stock - Michaels
Banners - Banners #2 (Sizzix, stamp and die set)
Mustache die - Mustache and Top Hats (Sizzix)
