Halloween Accordian Flip Card

Good morning friends!

Now I'm glad that I had yesterday's post scheduled, as I had NO INTERNET from Monday evening until late Wednesday afternoon. No Internet. Seriously - I was having withdrawal. Even the house phone is tied to the internet. No emails and no Pinterest. AACK - it's a wonder I could even sleep at night. I guess I'm one of those people they talk about on the news when they mention Internet addicts.

I have an Accordion Flip card to share today, using Karen Burniston's dies. I actually made this for Sue's 'October First' mailing, but didn't want to post it until today.  (For those of you who don't know, Sue lives in a city a few hours away from me and we pop something into the mail to each other the first of each month).

The photo below shows the front of the card ... oh, I had SO much fun making this.

I am really enjoying these Accordian Flip cards, and hope to make a couple more of them in the next week or so.

Supplies used:
Accordian Flip Album Die - Karen Burniston (Sizzix)
Frame and Bracket Die - Karen Burniston (Sizzix)
Spellbinders Label Die
3-d Pumpkin Sticker - K&Co
Happy Halloween  - Michaels
Bat and spider stickers - from my stash
Patterned Glitter paper - Recollections

Hurray for a working internet connection! Thanks for stopping by today.

It's Brandi's Birthday!

Brandi is 15 years old today!  She is sporting a new hair-cut and her Blue Merle colouring shows up so nicely when she is clipped.

The groomer said she really noticed how weak Brandi is getting in her hind-end - something we see as well. But she is happy and her arthritis/old-girl pain is managed with medication. She goes for a little walk with me every day - we leave her rambunctious 'brothers' at home - and she wags her tail the whole time.  For those that don't know, she is not winking in the photo - she lost her eye a few years ago due to complications from a tumor removal. Doesn't phase her in the least.

Happy Birthday Brandi Girl!

I have a 5-1/2" square Halloween card to share today ... the embossed circle panel was in the 'Odds & Sods' Halloween pile, so I dug it out and layered it with patterned paper (Recollections).

Since I did it a couple of years ago, I'm thinking I inked the embossing folder with black in before running it through the Big Shot with orange card stock. The popped up circles were punched out with a circle punch.

Smiling Pumpkin

Good morning friends!

Today's share is the card I made for my parents to give our Grandson Ethan, who is one.  I actually made it in November putting it away for this Halloween ... but I cannot see that I posted it.  You know if I'd been making it this year, it would have been a Pop 'n Cut card!

The card is 4-1/4" square, and I used the same Recollections paper stack I've used for all my Halloween cards. Also a cute 3-d pumpkin sticker from K&Co. I get such a kick out of that pumpkin's expression and his glittery grin.

Quick Gift Tags

Good morning friends!

I have the BEST neighbors, and they take such good care of our house when we are away that I wanted to bring them a little THANK YOU gift.  I decided on goodies from our Rocky Mountain Soap Company, simply wrapped up in a cello bag. I used dies from Karen Burniston's 'Snippets Collection' to create quick little gift tags!

That glittery heart adds just a little somethin' somethin' to the tags - I used the heart from her House Thinlit set. LOVE the shape of that heart and I'll be using that little die a LOT.

After I took the pictures I added their names to the white label and tied the tags onto the cello bags with yellow Bakers Twine.

I think the tags turned out pretty cute!

Supplies Used:
Karen Burniston (Sizzix) Dies:  Gift Card Holder (for tag)
               House Thinlit set (heart)
               Labels Framelit set (bracket label)
Patterned paper - scraps from my stash
Bakers Twine - The Twinery
Foam Tape
Glitter Paper - Stampin' Up

"Let It Snow" Accordian Flip Card

Good morning friends!

For those of you who don't know, my friend Sue lives in a town a few hours away from me. On the first of each month we pop something in the mail to each other. This month I knew I was going to be really busy about that time, so I made - and sent - her November First early.  I'm going to post it early too!

I have been wanting to play more with Karen Burniston's Accordian Flip Album die, so of course I pulled it out for Sue's card.  This is one of those cards that practically made itself. I knew I wanted to do something with a winter theme; I looked at those cute felt mittens and next thing I knew I was done!

I also used Karen B's Bracket Frame and Label die, which makes decorating the Accordion Flip Album a breeze. Nothing like having the sizing all worked out for you.  :-)  Not that I'm lazy, but math and I just do not get along.

Below is the card closed, with the front showing.

I used PTI's snowman hat die and coordinating face on a punched circle for the snowman embellishment. He turned out even cuter than I pictured in my head!

This is the card closed with the back showing...

The Accordian Flip Album pieces (two of them) were cut from pale blue textured card stock, while the Bracket Frame and Label's were cut from patterned papers. (Don't know WHAT happened to the shade of blue on the photo above - it looks completely desaturated! It is the same paper as on the other photos, and really does match perfectly.)

When I say 'Let it Snow', I just mean it in the spirit of the upcoming season - I do NOT mean it literally, ha ha.

Supplies used:
Karen Burniston's Frame and Bracket Label die (Sizzix)
Karen Burniston's Accordian Flip Album die (Sizzix)
Patterned paper - K & CO for the red and blue, from my stash for the blue snowflakes
Bakers Twine
Sparkly Snowflakes - Hobby Lobby
Border Stickers - K & Co
Snowman Hat die and Face stamp - Papertrey Ink
Word stamp - unknown
Felt Mittens and Circle punch - Stampin' Up
Snowflake Punch

Christmas Chicadee's Flip-It Card

It's Friday so that means I have a Flip-It card to share today!

I've mentioned having a LARGE stash of Christmas themed embellishments and paper I'm trying to wade through. Now this is mostly because I'd love to get some of the new designs that will be coming out and I just cannot fit anything else into my studio.  These paper Chickadee's were just made to fit on the Circle Flip-It  card!

Papers and embellishment by K&Co, word stamp by Stampin' Up and the card die is by Stephanie Barnard for Sizzix.

Lion Love Note

Good morning friends!

I have a simple Pop 'n Cut card to share today.  If you follow my blog, you know I like to send 'Love Notes' to our Grandkids (ages 1 and 2) because I want them to know the joy of getting something in the mail.

I love the cheerful colours in the patterned paper, and of course I'm addicted to Karen Burniston's (Sizzix) Pop 'n Cut dies.  For this one I used her A2 Pop 'n Cut base with the included Circle Label Die. I added a simple chipboard sticker, labels cut with a Spellbinders die, stamping and the card was done.

It's sweet, it's simple and the Grand-babies will love it.

The words inside say 'you make my heart happy'.  Perfect for the way those little ones make my heart feel. :-)

Halloween Gift Bag

Good morning friends!

For my family this year, I opted to tuck their Halloween treats and card in a gift bag. I love these paper gift bags - they are about 8-1/2" tall and 5-1/2" wide, and are easily decorated with patterned paper.

I trimmed some tags from scraps, and added a die cut fancy label that was stamped and decorated with a die cut bat.

Easy Peasy, and I think they turned out pretty cute!  I made 4 of them - each a little different - but only photographed this one to share.

Supplies Used:
Paper Bag - Uline
Patterned paper - Recollections
Stamps and bat die - Stamps of Life
Label Die - My Favorite Things
Ribbon - From my stash

Pop 'n Cut 104th Birthday Card!

When you turn 104, you deserve a special birthday card - wouldn't you agree? When the Program Coordinator at Seniors Secret Service asked if I'd be willing to make a couple of special cards for them, I was more than willing. You can see the card I made for Mary's 107th birthday by clicking HERE.  Once again I made a Pop 'n Cut card ...

The card base is a Sizzix scalloped card die - it makes an A6 sized card. I cut it from a beautiful floral paper with gold foil accents.  Karen Burniston's Wavy Label Framelits were used for the front embellishment, and I hand cut the white mat.

Inside I used Karen Burniston's A2 Pop 'n Cut base with her Wavy Label insert.  (I've said it before, but the Wavy Label insert is my favourite one these days!)

The cards don't go through the mail, the envelopes are clipped to the gift bag and hand delivered by volunteer's.  Usually I keep my cards fairly mail friendly but on cards for Seniors Secret Service I'm able to use lots of layers. And Bling.  :-)  Because if you are 104, you also deserve BLING!

I added her name to the inside, because I wanted her to know this card was made specifically for HER!

I used the Wavy Label Framelets on the inside of the card, a fussy cut stamped birthday cake, a strip of the same foiled paper as the card was made from, a label for a place to sign, die cut numbers & letters and glitter glue.

(Remember that you can always see my Sizzix Flip-it, Pop N Cut and Accordion Flip cards by looking on the right side of my blog under LABELS then scrolling down to the 'S' section.)

Supplies used:
Karen Burniston (Sizzix) A2 Pop 'n Cut base with her Wavy Label insert
Karen Burniston (Sizzix) Wavy Label Framelits
Sizzix Scalloped Card Die
Stamps - all by Papertrey Ink
Letter dies - Papertrey Ink
Modern Label punch and Ribbon - Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper - Recollections
White card stock - Office Depot
Number Dies - Sizzix

Ethan's Pumpkin Card

Good morning friends!

When Olivia's bat card (see Saturday's post) turned out SO cute, I went ahead and cut all the pieces for this pumpkin from the same cartridge.

The green flourish was in my 'Odds & Sods' pile, but I though it would be cute on the pumpkin so I added it to the stem.  I also stamped around the outer edge with my trusty dots stamp (Stamps by Judith) and sponged on the inside of the pumpkin.  Both the outer frame and the stem portion were embossed with the same embossing folder as I used on the bat card.

This one is about 6" wide, so I had to make an envelope to fit it as well. I used the Recollections paper pad and my ScorePal to make the envelope. The label was fussy cut from one of the sheets in the stack.

107th Birthday Card

Good morning friends!

The last two months I've been making birthday cards to donate to Seniors Secret Service.   The Program Coordinator contacted me last week wondering if I'd be interested in making three special cards, as they have three ladies celebrating milestone birthdays next month.  One lady is turning 100, another 104 and the third is turning 107.  107!!!   Of course I said YES.

I delivered the three special cards, as well as 64 other Birthday Cards early this week.  Anytime I wanted some playtime this month, I went down and worked on birthday cards for the organization. A few cuts here, a few layers there and poof - 64 birthday cards made for isolated Senior Citizens.

Today I'm sharing the card I made for 'Mary's' 107th birthday.  I used beautiful patterned paper, satin ribbon and made it a Pop 'n Cut card.

The patterned paper has almost a plastic finish on it - it just FEELS good in your hands.  I cut the card base with a scalloped card die, and decorated it with a label & her initial as well as a lovely ribbon bow. Because the envelopes are clipped to the gift bag and hand delivered by volunteer's, I'm free to use bulky embellishments like this ribbon bow.

For the inside, I used Karen Burniston's A2 Pop 'n Cut base with the funky label insert and the other half of the 12 x 12" patterned paper. The finish on the paper is so amazing I wanted it to be the main decorative element, along with the pop-up feature.

The Happy Birthday was stamped on a scrap, I notched the ends with scissors and attached it across the Funky Label pop out portion. I used Glue Dots to attach it, as I think an aggressive adhesive was needed on the plastic coating.

I cut another one of Karen Burniston's Funky Label Framelits to add the stamped words and the die cut 1 0 7, and popped that up with a fussy cut butterfly.

I fussy cut the butterflies out of another paper in the stack and attached the larger one to the pop up portion with a strip of transparency to give the illusion of floating.

I am so happy with how this card turned out, and it was a pleasure to be making it for someone celebrating such a monumental birthday.  I LOVE the word stamps too - they are just perfect for a card like this!  {I will share the 100th and the 104th Birthday cards in the coming days.}

Olivia's Bat Card

Good morning friends!

Today's share is the card I made for our Granddaughter Olivia for Halloween. She is two and she loves PURPLE.  :-)

I used the paper stack by Recollections and my ScorePal to create the matching envelope - the card is over 9" wide, so I needed to make one to fit.

The card was Cricut cut using the Hello Kitty cartridge - there are SO many cute cuts on that cartridge I am looking forward to playing with it more.  Before attaching all the purple pieces, I embossed them with an embossing folder.  The black border was outlined with a Sakura pen for some shimmer and shine, and I doodled on the inside before adding the message.
