Karen Burniston's January 2015 Designer Challenge

Good morning friends!

Today is the first day of Karen Burniston's January Designer Challenge - this is our challenge:
"Your cards must include dies from 3 (or more) categories in the Pop it Ups line - those categories are: Accordions & Frame Edges, Pivot Cards, General Pop-ups, Pull Cards, Pop Stands, Edge dies, Characters & Props, Embossing Folders, Accessory Dies."

Being down with the flu over the Christmas holidays, and Olivia's Wish Trip to Disney World ... well, I didn't think I'd have a chance to make a card for this month's challenge.  Then, on New Years Eve as I was packing for the trip I had a brainstorm.  This card came together really quickly!

I used: 1 - Pull Card (Card base and spinner), 2 - Edge Dies (Beach Edges), 3 - Characters and Props (Rocky the Crab and Props 2), 4 - Accessory Dies (All Season's Tree)  and 5 - a General Pop-Up (Happy Birthday Pop Up). Don't you just love how well all of Karen Burniston's Pop it Up dies work together?

To make Rocky's ice cream cone, I used the party hat for the cone, and the small cloud from the All Season's Tree for the ice cream.  I outlined the cloud with a glue pen and sprinkled on Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter.

Rocky was added to the card front with a trimmed Action Wobble, so he bobs and wobbles around. So fun!

Inside, I attached an Ice Cream Cone sticker to the spinner that comes with the RPC, brushing baby powder on the parts that I didn't want to be sticky. It's hidden when the card is closed, but spins up as you pull the card open.

The Happy Birthday was die cut from coordinating paper backed with double sided adhesive, which makes it easy peasy to adhere.

The white border at the bottom was cut with one of the Beach Edges. I outlined the top edge with a glue pen and sprinkled on the Silk Microfine Glitter. Then I adhered fussy cut ice cream cones.

Be sure to check out what the other Designer's have come up with for the challenge. Karen Burniston will have her post on the Elizabeth Craft Designs Blog on Wednesday.
