Boo!

Good morning friends!

I have a Halloween card to share today using the new Lorna Label, a Pop it Ups die by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs.  These dies will be shipping mid-July 2014 so check that your local retailer has pre-ordered them for you!

Ha - I'm on some pretty hefty medication to help my knees and it is affecting my eyesight. Seriously! I now see how crooked this front panel was attached, so I'll be lifting it off to straighten it right away. Sheesh.

I thought all the sparkle in the paper was a fun touch ... and I fussy cut several pumpkins from a different sheet in the stack to use on this card.

When Karen B. sent her Designer Challenge team pictures of the Summer 2014 release, I knew immediately I wanted to cut a Double Lorna Pop up. I also wanted to turn it sideways so the card would open like a book using this technique AND turn it so the Lorna Label is at the bottom as a platform.  Of course, I haven't had a chance to make all the cards in my idea notebook yet - but fellow team mate Frances Byrne has done both the above so be sure to watch her blog too!

The new Lorna Label is going to be a VERY versatile Pop Up die.

Of course I added Poppy the Owl (one of the Character dies in the Summer 2014 Pop it Ups Release), AND the grass is from the new Outdoor Edges which is also in the release.

The Outdoor Edges are going to get some serious use, let me tell you. They cut just the top edge, so you can make your decorative strip as tall as you wish. This one is about 1" tall, and I snipped a little notch in the center so it would fit over the Lorna Label base. It attaches to the long step platform that cuts with the Lorna Label so it's nice and secure.

I added a couple of those fussy cut pumpkins and cut a border of sparkly pumpkins to go across the bottom of the card ...

Right now this card is on display at Paper Pastimes in Calgary, so Carole can show her customers some of the new dies.  :-)
