Hot Chocolate Kit, Card #3

Here is the 3rd card I made with the scrapbook kit 'Hot Chocolate' by Fancy Pants.  It's a Sizzix Pop 'N Cut card.

The stamp on the front is by Hero Arts, and the one inside is by PTI ... but everything else was in the kit.

I used the Wavy Label insert, and the coordinating framelits. I love how having the framelits makes the whole thing come together.

 

I added a strip of white card stock so I'd have a place for a little note and signature.

Hot Chocolate Kit, First Cards

One of the Christmas Scrapbook kits I picked up last year was called 'Hot Chocolate' (by Fancy Pants, I believe).  I made several Christmas cards with it and managed to use almost the whole kit!  All but these first two are Pop Up cards, but for these ones I used the scalloped card die (Sizzix) to cut the A6 card base.

The papers are double sided, and I loved the snowflake pattern on the inside.

The insides of both cards are nearly identical, using a Stampin' Up word and MFT die cut labels.

Tomorrow I will share one of the Pop UP cards I made with the kit.

Christmas Light Tags

I have a trio of Christmas tags to share today ... using this month's club set at Stephanie Barnards 'The Stamps Of Life'. 

The set is called 'lights4Christmas' ... I stamped them with Momento black ink, coloured the centers with markers, painted them with glue then sprinkled on chunky glitter. The ornament tops were coloured with a gold metallic marker.  Once the glitter was dry I fussy cut the lights out. Next time, I'll do the cutting BEFORE the glittering.  :-)

After attaching a strip of glittery patterned paper onto the Sizzix die cut tags, I popped up the Christmas lights.  The little Merry Christmas banners are also in the set, I stamped them on scrap card stock, trimmed them and attached them to the tags with Dimensionals. So they are popped up, but not as high as the lights.

To & From were stamped on the back of the tags before I attached the Christmas Lights and I tied Bakers Twine at the top.

'Joyous Tidings Pop 'N Cuts' Card

Our Son-in-Law is a photographer, and has been wanting me to try 'Lightroom' for a long time. I finally downloaded the free trial last weekend and tinkered around with it. After he gave me a quick tutorial, I was sold.  I spent almost all day Saturday doing on-line tutorials so I would have a clue what to do, and almost all day yesterday backing up my photos and getting our photo files organized for Lightroom and out of iPhoto. By photos I mean all our personal photos, not the pictures I take of my papercrafts.

It was a mentally exhausting weekend, but I think I have enough of a handle on it now that I actually changed my camera to shoot Raw.  Yikes!  Even though I SHOULD have had several opportunities this past weekend to play in my studio ... I didn't even go in the door.

Today's card is a Christmas card, but one that still falls into the Masculine Card Monday category.  :-)  I used my Sizzix Pop 'N Cuts die for the inside of this one and the card base is a lovely pearlized Bazzill card stock also cut with a Sizzix die.

I used my new Stampin' Up Glimmer Paper for these beautiful SPARKLY snowflakes. I didn't buy any Glimmer Paper last year, but when I received several Christmas cards using it I knew I wanted to pick some up this year. It is wonderful - I am crazy about it.

This is my new favourite way to make my pop up cards - using the Sizzix scalloped card base, which is an A6 size. It makes it SO easy to line up the Pop 'N Cut inserts, and there is no trimming required!

I have had a bin of Christmas embellishments sitting on the counter in my studio since last Christmas. I've been using them for all the holiday cards I've made for this year, and I don't think I've even made a dent in it. So I am going to step it up - I vow to empty that container this year and free up the space!

This chipboard deer (Prima - Northwoods collection) is from the bin, and the paper is by Recollections. I used the paper stack a fair bit last year, and it's almost gone now. Yay!

The wavy label die is also by Sizzix, popped up with Dimensionals and the words are by Stampin' UP.

Second Cardinal Flip It Card

Here is the 2nd Cardinal Flip-It card I made for the holidays (you can see the first one on yesterday's post). This cardinal embellishment is from a package by K&Co - and the size was perfect for the Circle Flip It!

The paper is really pretty with a metallic touches. It's also by K&Co.

Below shows the card opened, or flipped. The stamped label is popped up with Stampin' Up dimensionals. I love those things, as they give height without too much height.

First Cardinal Flip-It Card

It's Friday and I have a Sizzix Flip-It card to share today for the holidays.  The cardinal & branch piece was fussy cut out of a purchased Christmas card we received last year. It was too pretty to put in recycling.

I am just so happy with these Flip-It Christmas cards ... they are fairly fast to make, especially when making several at one time. And they are so flippin' cool!  (Pardon the pun :-

Butterfly Shaped Card & ATC Trio

Hello Friends and Followers - fair warning that I have a photo-heavy post today. 

This is what I put in my friend Sue's 'September First' envelope.  (For those that don't know, Sue lives in a city a few hours away from mine and we pop something in the mail to each other on the first of each month).

First up is the ATC trio ... made using a bunch of bits and pieces from my studio. I don't keep track of supplies when doing ATC's.

Next up is the shaped card. It was Cricut cut using the Elegant Edges cartridge. I had SO much fun designing this card using the Cricut Craft Room - it was the first time everything cut exactly as it was supposed to! The card is about 6" across.

The labels are a Sizzix die, words on the front by Hero Arts. Lots of foam tape and glitter glue on this Card!

We agreed to keep things simple, but she has had a very hectic summer and once again I really wanted to send her something special. Next month I'll go back to simple.  :-)
