Good morning friends
The Designer Challenge Team has been going crazy for Karen Burniston's Cascading Tag technique using the Adirondack Chair Pop-Up die. You can see one of her amazing cards and the video tutorial by clicking HERE.
Of course I was just itching to make one but we were on the coast and I had to wait until I got home. Let me tell you I was up at the crack of dawn the day after we arrived home and in my craft room. Then I decided to save the finished card until one of the August Designer Challenges. But ... nope ... can't wait to share, so here is my first Cascading Tag Card:
I used patterned paper from my stash that was just calling to me as well as black card stock to make everything POP. Note, I did reinforce the chair arms from the back before assembling as I wasn't sure what I'd be adding and I didn't want the chair to 'twist' when it opens.
The first two tags have a Paris Edge, a stamped label, a cloud and small butterfly.
The next two tags continue with a Paris Edge, an Eiffel Tower Charm and more clouds.
For something different, I attached a third Adirondack chair into the fold as another place to add embellishments. My plan at first was to dangle charms but I ended up attaching more Paris themed decorated tags.
The second tag was decorated with the negative pieces that came out of the Paris Edge on the front of the card.
A final view of the card - I used Agatha Edges and a Peel-Off border on the inside front and back panels.
This is a 'Karen Burniston heavy' project, with NINE different Pop it Up products! Pop it Ups all play so nicely together. :-) I didn't plan it that way - this was definitely a create-as-you-go card. I had SO much fun. The Cascading Tag Card lends itself to so many different occasions and themes. I have finished another one and still have ideas for more. Talk about an inspiring technique!! Thanks to the (brilliant) creative mind of Karen Burniston.
