Get Well Soon Flip-Its Card

Good morning friends

It's Flip-It Friday here on my blog, and I have a sweet Get Well Card that would work for a masculine Get Well card too.

I was inspired by the pretty bird Peel Off, which was adhered to water colour paper and coloured with Tombow Markers and a wet paintbrush. Then I fussy cut it out and it was ready to attach to the Flip-It's card. The GET WELL SOON dies (and shadows) come with the Circle Flip-It's #4, as do the small circle borders.

I positioned the words so you can read them when the card is open as well as closed.

Into my stash with this one ... I was completely out of Get Well Cards!

Supplies:
Circle Flip-Its #4 - Sizzix
Clock and Gears (Circle), Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
2350 BirdS & Branches Peel Off - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Patterned paper - the Paper Studio
White card stock
Water Colour Paper
Tombow Markers
Elizabeth Craft Designs Transparent Double Sided Adhesive - large roll

Blue Dog Card

Good morning friends

It's Throwback Thursday here on my blog, and I have an older card to share.  I love this cute dog die, especially when cut from patterned paper.

The card is a larger one - 5 x 6-1/2"; a Kraft card with matching Kraft envelope. I used the iRock tool to add 3 flat green metallic gems to the dog's collar.

Even though it's a simple card, I think it's pretty cute.

'Thank Ewe' Pop Up Gift Card Holder

Good morning friends

I have a fun card to share today, using a whole bunch of the new release dies by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs. Since it's a Pop-Up card, I kept the outside nice and simple...

Inside the card is where the fun starts.  I wanted to give my Mom's friend a gift card for gas, since she takes Mom around on lots of errands. She never minds doing it but it's always nice to know you are really appreciated, right?

One of the new releases is the Sleigh Pop-Up Gift Card Holder, so I used it here. The cool thing about the die set, is the sleigh and Pop-Up Gift Card Holder mechanism can be used independently from each other. So it will be great for Christmas and the holidays but also for ANY time you want to make a cute Gift Card Holder!!  I cut it from patterned paper that has the clouds and bird on the top edge and grass on the bottom.

Snowball the Sheep is from the new Farm 2 collection, and boy is she easy to put together. Shadow layer, detail layer, forehead pouf and eyes. Done! She comes with the cute flower die too so you can make Snowball a boy or a girl. I made both for this card. There is a spinner that cuts with the Gift Card Holder, and I chose to use it with this card. The right Snowball is attached to it - you can see that she is hidden when the card is closed, but hangs out the side when the card is opened. So clever!

The Fence Pop Stand is another die set in the new release but as you can see you can use the fence without it being a Pop Stand too! It comes with impression lines for embossing but I just quickly traced through them with a grey marker like a stencil. Then I adhered the centre post to one of the Gift Card Holder supports. I disguised the second support with the clump of grass that comes with the Fence Pop Stand, and another die cut flower.

I have a new favourite tool ... the Elizabeth Craft Designs Fine Pointed Tweezers. I have never been a tweezer user with my crafting, but I received these as a gift and thought I'd give them a shot. By the time I was finished the first card using them I was hooked. They are perfect for picking up all those sticky little pieces for the Pop it Ups Character Dies, for popping out the 'confetti' when you die cut, for picking up and placing Peel-Offs, die cuts and getting the edge lifted on the back of double sided adhesive. I highly recommend them!!

I die cut the phrase using the 'thank' from the ECD Thank You die, and the letters E W E from the ECD Alpha Caps die. The blue layer is actually backing from packaging. It was too pretty not to recycle.

Here is a side view, so you can see how the Gift Card nicely fits into the slots that cut with the Sleigh Pop-Up Gift Card Holder.

Since it was being hand delivered, I packaged the card up in a cellophane envelope.

Black and White Sympathy Cards

Good morning friends

I have a couple of Sympathy cards to share today. Since I had this sparkly black and white paper stack out for a different project, I decided to use up some of the smaller pieces and scraps.

For this first card, I used a Blueprints die set to get the stitched panels and stitched circle. I wanted to order their set of stacked stitched circles with my last order, but they were out of stock. I'm finding a lot of uses for stitched circles these days.

Since my clear stamps are now all organized and accessible, it was so nice to be able find what I was looking for to stamp on the insides of these cards.

The second card has a punched bird & branch, which is adhered to layered Katie Label Pivot accessory dies. The top Katie Label was cut form a white pearlized card stock and the bird has a Glitter Dot Peel-Off for an eye.

Into my depleted sympathy card stash with these two.

Supplies:
Blueprints #24 (Stitched circle and stitched panel)
Katie Label Pivot (Labels), Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Stitched Vertical strips - MFT
Patterned paper - My Minds Eye
White card stock
White pearl card stock - Gina K
Black card stock

Word stamps - Verve

Birdhouse Birthday Cards

Good morning friends

It's Masculine Card Monday here on my blog, and I have a trio of Birthday Cards to share that I am donating to Seniors Secret Service.

I used patterned paper cut down to fit three 4 x 6" card bases, and added a little stamped banner on the fronts.

Here is a peek at the inside ...

I'm working away at whittling down some of my older card stacks. I would just work on one until it's used up, but then when I photograph the cards they all end up looking the same. So - I just pick away at them randomly. :-)

Supplies:
Patterned paper - DCWV
White card stock
Words on front - Taylored Expressions
Blueprints #12 (Banner) - MFT
MISTI
Bird stamp - TAWS
Happy Birthday Stamp - Avery Elle
Copic markers

Sizzix Rooster Card

Good morning friends

Olivia had AMAZING test results last week, which means the medication is now ahead of the disease (Pulmonary Hypertension) and slowed it's progression. In fact, the numbers were so good she doesn't have to go back for testing until September!!!! We know this means she isn't cured, she is still gravely ill - but we will have more time with her and she will feel better for longer. Here is a picture of Olivia and her brother Ethan at his 3rd birthday party this past weekend. They are inseparable, those two.  Heart. Melt.

I couldn't help myself when I saw this Rooster die by Sizzix. It's not that I'm a Rooster fan, but I knew how much our eldest daughter would love a card made with it. As soon as I came home, I put this together and will send it to her as a Love Note.

She and her husband have a lot on their plate looking after our little Olivia and I've started sending her Love Notes to let her know she is not alone, and how much we love and support her.

I added a scalloped panel inside to write our message.

Supplies:
Rooster die - Sizzix
Patterned paper - MME
White card stock
Embossing folder - Cuttlebug
Scraps of Red & Yellow card stocks
Blueprints #1 - MFT
7018 Glitter Dots - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Card size - Standard A2

C4C296

Good morning friends

It's Saturday and that means a new challenge at the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog. I am the hostess for July, and my amazingly talented Designer Challenge Teammate & friend Kelly Booth is our Guest Designer.

My challenge this week is:  Make It Royal. Royal colours or royal images - your choice.

I found some princess paper in my stash, so decided to make Olivia a Get Well Card. She is doing really well, but at some point a Get Well Card will be needed and that is when I will least feel up to making her one.

Inside I used the Lorna Label Pop Up, which is a Pop it Ups die by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs.

I also added Peel-Off Glitter Flowers & Dots (inside) and Glitter Hearts (outside), but otherwise I let the paper design do all the work for the card.

Into my stash for hopefully a long time.

Check out the blog to see how the Crazies have been inspired by the challenge. We'd sure love to see your take on it, so be sure to stop by the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and link up your creations. If you are uploading to an online gallery, please use the keyword C4C296.

Balloon Spiral Circle Pull Card

Good morning friends

It's Throwback Thursday on my blog, and today's share is the very first Spiral Circle Pull Card (SCPC) I made. As soon as the dies arrived from Karen Burniston, I had to try it out and it quickly became one of my favourite Pop it Ups dies.

I couldn't believe how quick and easy this was to put together, and how much I liked the little notches that hold the card in the closed position. Brilliant, Karen B!

The balloons come with the die, and I added little hand drawn strings.

When you pull on the sides, the card opens to reveal the inside. I chose not to use the included spiral this time around.

Since this card, I have made many more (like over 30!) with the SCPC - if you are interested in seeing more - check the labels to the right of my blog.

Supplies:
Spiral Circle Pull Card, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Patterned paper - Stampin' Up
Corner Rounder - Creative Memories

Pivot Anniversary Card

Good morning friends

I have an Anniversary card to share today, using the Katie Label Pivot die by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs.

I made the card a little larger so I could use the pretty Paris Edges on the side edges for a different look.

Here is the inside - I chose to use double sided patterned paper, and keep the pretty butterfly design for the inside. This Katie Label Pivot die set is by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs.

I love that Pivot Cards are easy to make, but carry a huge WOW factor when the card is opened and the design pivots from the front to the inside.

Sometimes, if the patterned paper is too lightweight, I add backing strips inside the spine giving the card more stability as I did here. The small butterfly on the right was made with the inner hearts from the right Label and a small piece of a Peel-Off Border.

This will be on it's way to my In-Laws shortly, as they celebrate their special day.

Supplies:
Katie Label Pivot, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Heart Pivot (Solid Heart), Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Accordion Rectangle (Open Hearts), Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
343 Assorted Word Peel-Off's, Elizabeth Craft Designs
1167Assorted Borders Peel-Off, Elizabeth Craft Designs
Patterned paper - K & Co
Cream textured card stock - stash
Card size - 5-1/2 x 5-3/4"
