C4C 258 - a Sketch Challenge Card

Good morning friends.

It's Saturday, so that means a new challenge at the Crazy 4 Challenges blog.  Our October Hostess is Jessie Rone, and she gave us this great sketch as our inspiration. The Guest Designer this month is Roxie Glaza.

Ha!  I think we were supposed to make a Halloween Card, but I needed a birthday card and not one Halloween themed.   I chose to use the Spiral Circle Pull Card die (SCPC) for my square card base, and I was able to stay pretty close to the sketch.

Hoppy the Frog sits on the front circle, and I used the balloon dies included with the SCPC. Karen Burniston has a brand new Happy Birthday Pop up die (available through Elizabeth Craft Designs) so I cut the words from that die and also a couple of the included stars.

The right edge needed something, so I wrapped it with yellow Bakers Twine.

Here is the card opened - you simply pull the sides to release the card from the little notches to open it. LOVE those notches.

I could have scootched the Birthday word over a little further left and then you wouldn't see it at ALL when the card is finished. But I was using a wet glue and it fell out of my fingers as I was placing the word. So - I left it where it fell.  Thankfully it fell straight!

To make the die cut words a little more prominent, I used a fine point marker inside the letters and added some hand lettering to finish off the card.

The Crazies would love to see what you come up with for the challenge, and be sure to check out the Design Team (linked on the right of my blog) to see their spooky creations. Please use C4C258 in the keywords if you upload to an on-line gallery.
