Baby Heart Pivot Card

Good morning friends!

I hope you have been inspired by the amazing cards the Designer Challenge Team has been posting the last two days. If you haven't checked them out yet - look on the right of my blog and click away. This is the first group post by Karen Burniston's team since she made the move from Sizzix to Elizabeth Craft Designs, and this challenge shows how creative you can easily be with her new Pop it Ups dies!

My third card for the Designer Challenge is a baby card.  It's my goal this year to continue to use UP things in my studio, and use some of my older stamps on new projects. This card uses two older - and small - baby stamps and ribbon from my stash.

I used several of Pop it Ups dies by Karen Burniston and I'm so happy with how it turned out! I keep trying to show different ways you can use the Heart Pivot die, as it's good for lots more than Valentine's and Anniversaries. What is more loving than welcoming a new baby!

This is a 5-1/2" square card.  To get the white edge on the cut border, I simply cut a wide strip of white card stock with the Agatha Edge die, and off-set it a little from the Agatha Edge cut edge on the front of the card.  I wrapped the seam with a white satin ribbon and tied a knot.

I stamped the images onto white card stock, coloured with pencils and blended the colour. Then I used a circle die to cut out a circle that would fit on the Heart Pivot and outlined the edge with a Peel-Off Border sticker.

I am loving the Peel-Off stickers from Elizabeth Craft Designs, so added a gold leafy border down the inside right edge. It peeks through when the card is closed, through the fancy cut edge.

Here is the card opened.  I die cut a label from white card stock, inked the edges and stamped the words on the left. That leaves the right side of the label to add our note and signature!  I also added two narrow strips of patterned paper on either side of the inner fold, which brings the pattern from the front to the inside.

Here is the view of the back when the card is closed.  Remember that the hearts pivot from the front & back to the inside when the card is opened ...

The white heart layers were outlined with a Sakura gel pen for some more shimmer ...
