Good morning friends!
Today's share is my 2nd post for Karen Burniston's Sizzix Designer challenge "Pop 'n Cuts Anything Goes" {BUT each designer is to use a different insert}. I chose to use the Sassy Label insert and made a masculine birthday card.
I started by cutting the Square Base with Ornate Edge, and the Banner from Kraft card stock. I inked the edges of everything before attaching the layers and pieces together. I added a strip of patterned Kraft paper across the center of the card, then cut 3 more banners from the turquoise polka dot paper. I cut the banners in half, then splayed five of them out across the patterned piece, attaching them at the top edge when I was happy with the layout.
The Kraft banner was embossed using Karen's Sassy Label Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, and I tied button twine around the center before popping it up over the turquoise banners. Wish Big was stamped on a scrap of white card stock, punched out then attached with foam tape.
Look at how cool the embossed insert piece looks - the embossing folder embosses the Sassy Label insert and the background all with one pass ... brilliant!
I added one of the leftover banner pieces to the inside, with another PTI stamped image and hand cut the candles from scraps.
The patterned Kraft papers were cut with the Square Base with Ornate Edge (no insert) and trimmed to fit.

You're amazing! I am so happy to see that embossing folder used with the Sassy Label, too. Sometimes I find that I've "underrepresented" certain dies or folders in my collection and this folder set is one of them. So glad to see it in use!
ReplyDeleteKaren, this is SO pretty! WOW...that blue really pops!
ReplyDeleteI love the texture!
Fabulous card! I also love how that embossing folder looks on this card. And love the look you created on the front using the fishtail banner.
