C4C334 - Colour Challenge Card

Good morning friends

It's Saturday, and that means there is a new challenge on the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog. Our April Hostess is Rebecca Ednie and the talented Teresa Kline from Paperie Blooms joining us as our Guest designer.

Rebecca has this beautiful colour challenge for us:

I love this colour combo! Since I was in the mood to play with the Lawn Fawn Cactus set, I combined them with the Paisley Stage-It Stencil to create this pretty card.

Inside I used the Lots of Pops Pop-Up by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Stuck On You Anniversary Pop-Up Card

Good morning friends

I bought a set of beautiful sparkly embossing powders when at the Mesa Rubber Stamp Show and I love how they look on dark papers.

I have seen the cactus done with a moustache on Pinterest, so I thought I'd do the same and make an Anniversary card for our eldest daughter and her hubby.

The moustache is from the Props 1 set - but I refrained from adding a cowboy hat as well. For now - I know I won't be able to hold out for long.

Supplies:
Black card stock
Patterned paper - Studio Calico
Cactus set - Lawn Fawn
Border - Lawn Fawn
Embossing Powders - Stamp A Mania
Elizabeth Craft Designs Clear Double Sided Adhesive, 1/8"
Lorna Label Pop-Up, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Props 1 (moustache), Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
White card stock

Double Pop Mother's Day Card

Good morning friends

A friend and I found a few (cough)  12 x 12" paper stacks for a good price while we were out shopping together. I've been using one of the stacks a fair bit - the designs are large with glossy bits. It's quite a heavy weight and of course cracks if you try to fold it. But it works like a charm for flat panels.

This is our eldest daughter's Mother's Day card - she loves roses. The clear sticker came in the same paper stack so I added it to the front.

Inside, is a double Lorna Label Pop-Up! The card is a large 5 x 7", dictated by the patterned paper on the front. I knew I wanted to use the Big Shot so cut my inner panel to fit and doodled borders above and below.

This is my first time using the new Elizabeth Craft Designs COLOURED Soft Finish Card Stock. They generously sent the design team members two sheets of each colour and it's wonderful stuff. I have already ordered a handful of single colours and will eventually add them all to my card stock collection. It's white on the back which opens up all kinds of possibilities!

Supplies:
Lorna Label Pop-Up, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Patterned paper & sticker - DCWV
Soft Finish Card Stock, Cafe au Lait - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Stamps - Hero Arts
Coloured pencils - Tri Tone, Koh I Noor
Elizabeth Craft Designs Clear Double Sided Tape, 1/8" width
Stickles
Doodles
Crayola markers
Leftover colour on the Pan Pastels sponges

Card size 5 x 7"

Little Pig Flat Valentine

Good morning friends

Yes, I still have Valentine's to share. I had been playing around with the Pop it Ups Character dies for Valentines and Virgil the Pig looked so cute I had to use him on a card.

Wouldn't this make a fun Birthday card with balloons instead of the heart and a birthday sentiment?

Patterned paper - Stampin' Up
Virgil the Pig, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Pink Polka Dot paper - My Favorite Things
Red card stock
Pink Pearl card stock scrap
Elizabeth Craft Designs Clear Double Sided Tape - 6" width

Bakers Twine
Inside - Happy Valentine's Day Banner Sticker - Michaels

Latte Love Pull Card

Good morning friends

Today's share was made using scraps from my stamping table, and a new stamp set from Verve. There were two pieces of this pretty Paris themed glittered patterned paper, a half sheet of black card stock, half a doily, some pink card scraps and a die cut heart from a different project. And everything came together to make a card and help clear off the table. Gotta love that.

The sweet little coffee cup and stamped words inside are from Verve - this set was a prize I won from the Coffee Lover's Blog Hop, which was a lot of fun. The stamp set is one I will use a fair bit - there are so many cute images and words in the set. You can see the whole set HERE. Such an awesome prize!

I used the Spiral Circle Pull Card (SCPC) for the card base, and the notches still work to hold the card closed because they slide in behind the doily.  The recipient can simply pull the sides of the card apart to reveal the inside.

The top left heart was die cut into the cream stamped circle with a scrap of pink card stock in behind it. The second heart was die cut from another scrap of pink.

I really like the Latte verse ... it's not the typical Thanks a Latte and I will get a lot of use out of this one.

Supplies:
Spiral Circle Pull Card, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Black card stock
Paris patterned paper - Craft 'n Craftin'
Doily - Martha Stewart
Coffee Stamps - Verve
Heart stamp & die - Lawn Fawn

Holiday Gift Tags

Good morning friends

I have Holiday tags to share today ... I started with a couple of things from my 'Odds & Sods' pile and it just grew from there.

The gifts & bows, and the tree & star are from the Evergreen Pivot by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs.

The larger gifts & bows are from the Sleigh Gift Card Holder Pop-Up. The Tag Topper punch by Stampin' Up makes it so easy to create tags - I use this punch a lot.

Love this little Santa stamp and die set!

C4C333

Good morning friends

It's Saturday, and that means there is a new challenge on the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog. Our March Hostess is Rebecca Ednie and the talented Teresa Kline from Paperie Blooms joining us as our Guest designer. I've been a long time fan of Teresa's so I'm excited she can join us! Here is Rebecca's challenge:

April Showers bring May flowers! Please use some springtime flowers on your card or project this week! I can't wait to see all of your daffodils, hyacinths, tulips, crocuses, cherry blossoms and all the others I've not listed!

I chose a pretty Spring time floral patterned card stock from a new paper stack and of course I used the Hanging Charm Pull Tab for my card.

The top of the tab was extended then punched and tied with seam binding. The butterfly is hanging from a 2 ply of Baker's Twine which is sandwiched between another frame. The gold bling is simply decorative. The butterfly body was cut from a scrap of black velvet adhesive paper, then the wings were glittered after a little pen work.

Joset's banners were one of my early Spring purchases, and I've used one of them here with some more bling. The words were hand lettered.

When you slide up the tab, the greeting is revealed ...

The card is a full 7 x 5", so there was lots of room for embellishing. I did a little doodling on the card back, and this is where we will write our message.

Check out the C4C blog to see how the Crazies have been inspired by the challenge. We'd sure love to see your take on it, so be sure to stop by the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and link up your creations. If you are uploading to an online gallery, please use the keyword C4C333.

New Home Flip Card

Good morning friends

It's Flip-It Friday here on my blog and I have a Z-fold card to share, made for friends who'd just moved into their new house.

I used the Spiral Circle Pull Card and some fun papers from my stash, then used the house from the House Pivot for the main decoration. I doodled a little banner for their house number to personalize it further.

The message inside was hand written and I doodled on the rest of the card just for fun. Love the sun from the Oval Pull card set. :-)

Last time we visited our friends, they still had their card out on display. That's always a good feeling. :-)

Karen Burniston's April Designer Challenge Card #2

Good morning friends

Today's share is my second card for the April Designer Challenge "Great Outdoors".  I had a 12 x 12" sheet of patterned paper that I really wanted to use for the challenge, so this is the card I came up with.

The palm tree was made using two layers of Kraft card stock for stability, then heat embossed with two different colours. The embossing powder has some sparkle to it which is fun.

On the Pull Tab Frame, I added two fussy cut faux postage from the patterned paper sheet and layered them. You can see all the raised & shiny bits on the patterned paper in the photo. The frame was stamped with my favourite dot stamp to give it a little somethin' somethin' and the bottom faux post was added with foam tape.

When you pull the tab, the frame stands up and reveals the lighthouse faux post and a greeting stamped below

After colouring, I added Glossy Accents to the word 'hello'.

The medallion stencil was used on the back panel, which was left blank as an area to write a message.

Check out my fellow Designer Challenge Team members projects, their blogs are linked to the right. Karen Burniston will have her post tomorrow (Wednesday) on her BLOG so be sure and check that for more amazing inspiration.

Karen Burniston's April Designer Challenge Card #1

Good morning friends

Welcome to Karen Burniston's April 2016 Designer Challenge ... The Great Outdoors. There were so many directions I wanted to go for this challenge, but when I spied the BBQ patterned paper in my stash I knew what I wanted to make. That happens frequently, the patterned paper ends up being my inspiration.

With Baker the Beaver holding onto a watermelon slice and the red gingham paper, you get a glimpse of the card theme.

I added some pen-work on the Square with Circle Frame Edges, and the scallop banners were cut twice - once from red card stock and once from green. I saved the green banners for another project, but inlaid the green negative pieces into the red frame for a more solid look.

Inside is the Adirondack Chair Pop-Up. I love that one - it's just so effective! Every single time I give a card with the Adirondack Chair inside people say WOW.  I also love doing it in red and it worked well with the colours of my BBQ themed patterned paper.

Some of the elements were fussy cut from a scrap of the patterned paper and added back onto the card, including the hot dog on a stick that Baker is holding onto. I chuckled all while making this card - Baker is just so fun. He is also wearing sunglasses. The sun is from the Oval Pull Card and the grass is from the Outdoor Edges.

I used the Stage it Stencil Partly Cloudy (yes, again) but this time I used the stencil the way I used to when our kids were little. Simply tracing around the inside edge of the shape. I love the variety of looks you can get from these stencils. After tracing, I added colour with Copics.

Finally, here is the side view so you can see the Pop-Up portion a little better.

Be sure to check out what the rest of the Designer Challenge Team has come up with for this fun challenge - their blogs are all linked on the right of my blog. Karen Burniston will have her post on her blog on Wednesday.
