Dog Flip-It Card

I thought I would try my new Sizzix Scottie Dog die with one of the Sizzix Flip-It dies and I think it turned out pretty cute!  Man, I think I need to buy stock in Sizzix.

Considering I'm using such limited supplies ... I'm still able to create a few fun cards and I am really looking forward to being able to get into my studio and use these dies with all the stuff in there!  The ribbon around this fellow's neck is the other end of the ribbon from a new tank-top.  (My ribbons are all in the studio and I can't get to them til next month sometime).

Once again, I've left the inside blank until I decide who this card is going to.  The lacy panel was also cut with a die; a Sizzix Card Front die. which cuts a panel for an A2 card. With a bit of trimming, it worked on this size card as well, which is approx 5x5".

Another Love Gift Card Holder

I made a little gift card holder using the seed packet die from Papertrey Ink. I used a 2 sided printed paper, and fussy cut an embellishment out of the same papaer stack.

This is the perfect size to tuck into an A2 card, and will be going to our Daughter and Son-In-Law with the card I shared yesterday.

Bird Anniversary Card

I used a Sizzix die to make this A2 sized Anniversary Card:

The paper wasn't all that sturdy, so I lined the inside with embossed panels...

I also added a little pop-up panel as a little surprise to the inside.

This Sizzix die is so handy - I like the little rounded flap that tucks into the round slit to keep it closed.

Spring Flowers

I have another floral card to share today, using that package of 3-d stickers by K&Co.  I sure got a lot of mileage out of that package!

This A2 sized card is going into my stash, as it can be used for several different occasions. Even as a special Thank You card!

Butterfly Landing

I had this idea in the middle of the night, and just had to try it out when I got up.  I only have this one butterfly die out but once I have access to my studio again, I want to try it again with a smaller butterfly. This one was popped up with a double layer of foam tape.

I am having SO much fun with this Sizzix Puppy Dog die. You can see how nicely it fits on an A2 card base.

All my A2 envelopes are stashed away in the studio, but I used my ScorePal and a sheet of the patterned kraft paper (from the same stack as the dog was cut from) to make a coordinating envelope. I forgot how easy it is to make your own envelopes when you have a ScorePal!

A Father's Day Dog Card

Today for Masculine Card Monday, I have a Father's Day card to share. I'm surprised at what I am able to do with the limited supplies I have right now.  :-)   I feel like I get to play a bit, and am still growing my card stash.  Win Win Win.

Last year most of my Father's Day cards featured stamped dogs, so this year I'm going to put my new Sizzix Puppy Dog die to good use.

This is a larger card, 5.5 x 6".  I used a wonderful new patterned paper package that I really just want to sit and flip through and never ever use at all.  But I'm trying to beat my hoarding instincts and made myself cut into FOUR different sheets to make this card.

I haven't figured out what to put inside yet, but there is still lots of time before Father's Day.

Santa Cards

This week I actually get to play along with the challenge at the 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown!!  They are asking you to feature Santa/Father Christmas on your card and this patterned paper was perfect. Perfect!

With all the layers and foam tape, these  5.5" square cards are heavy, and will end up being hand-delivered or included in a parcel.  Since that was the case, I was able to add a pretty ribbon and bow to each one.

This picture gives you a better idea of the lovely pearlized sheen on the paper. I didn't add any stamping to the front, as I didn't want to distract from the somewhat subdued image.

Two more cards to add to the Christmas Card stash!

Thanks for stopping by today.

Lovely Iris

I opened up a package of beautiful floral stickers by K&Co, and used them to create several floral cards.

Since I FINALLY had some purple card stock (Stampin' UP) I used some of it for the A2 sized cards like this one.  The embossing folder is also a Stampin' Up one, while MFT makes the layered labels.

The creamy label was actually cut from the patterned cardboard backing the stickers came on! This one is blank, since I haven't decided if I will use it for a sympathy card, a ladies birthday card, or for next Easter.  Into the stash it goes....

Yellow Scottie Dog

Here is another card made using my new (ahem) Mother's Day gift ... a Sizzix Scottie Dog die.

Seriously? This is just too flippin' cute. Good thing I've been stocking up on polka dot papers, because I think they're just perfect for these larger dies.

Yes, that is yellow polka dotted paper, with yellow bakers twine. I just seem to be drawn to yellow these days and I do NOT understand it. But this yellow shaped dog card makes me happy.

Another Dog Die

So I have a confession.  When my Mom offered to buy me the Sizzix Puppy Dog die (see HERE and HERE for cards using the die) she said I could also pick out a die for her to give me for Mother's Day.  YAY!

I did.  Yay!

I couldn't wait until Mother's Day to use it though ...  I know, I know. But it's SO cute!

We are going to have a house FULL of company in the coming weeks, and I had to buy another set of dishes. I kept a little bit of the corrugated cardboard from the packing material since I can't get into my studio so don't have a stash of fun things to use on my cards.  It worked out pretty cute for this first time using the Sizzix Scottie Dog die.

The kraft card base is from a packaged set (Hobby Lobby) and is slightly smaller than A2.  It is a really nice quality card stock though, so I can live with the size.

I didn't add any words to the inside, as I'm thinking of using this for one of our Father's Day cards. I will need six of them, as my Mom will need three and so will I.  Once I get back in my studio next month & check my card stash, I will know who this card will go to and can finish off the inside.

I have actually used this dog die a couple of times already! Last night I went to a friends for a dinner party, and I like to bring their dogs some treats. I used this Sizzix Dog die to create a cute embellishment for the front of the box, but was running late and didn't have a chance to take a picture before I left the house. I will share pictures of the other projects another day.

***Edited to add ... I decided not to use this for a Father's Day card and popped the card into my stash for when I need a masculine card.

Thanks for stopping by.

Fluttering

I have another quick card to share today - this is an older card from my files. I'm setting up a scheduled post, since my neighbor is taking me hiking at 7:30.  AM!

The card is a larger one, 5 x 6.5" and the sketch is FM65 from the Freshly Made Sketch blog.

Keep your fingers crossed that I get some great pictures on our hike!

Thanks for stopping by.

Spring Bookmark

I had a little strip of this pretty patterned paper leftover when I was putting away my Easter Card stuff so I thought I'd make a bookmark.

I cut it out of white card stock and the iris patterned paper, and attached the two together for stability.  A 3-d sticker from my stash, some bling and some YELLOW Bakers Twine (why am I liking yellow all of a sudden????) and it was done.

Oh, and the bookmark was cut using the Stampin' Up 'Two Tags' die. Another die I waited and waited to purchase, and wish I hadn't waited so long. I have already gotten a lot of mileage out of it (not everything gets posted) and I have lots more ideas too.

Wobbly Dog Love Note

I made another 'love note' to mail to our Grandkids, using that Oh-So-Cute Sizzix Puppy Dog die.  (My 'love notes' are simple and easy cards as they are going to kids under two).

I couldn't get a good picture of him spinning and wobbling ... the dog is attached to the embossed card front with an Action Wobble.  The little spring means the dog bobs and wobbles and it's such a fun thing for little ones.

I cut an extra heart from the die and attached it inside the A2 card base... the words will be written when I go to mail the card.  :-)

New Flip-It Dies

While I don't have access to my studio for another few weeks, I do have a few supplies to play with. One of them is my Big Shot, and a couple of NEW Sizzix dies.  :-)  This card was made with one of them ...

The dies are the new Sizzix Flip-It's Dies, and the finished card is approximately 5x5". There are a couple of different shapes, I bought this one and a rectangle one. There is also a flower, heart, circle and square but I exercised a little restraint, ha ha. They can lift up from the top, as I did with this card, or from the side. So quick and easy, and such a fun interactive card!

Since I can't get to my Spellbinders dies, I had to improvise the embellishment on the front of the card, using bits and pieces cut away from another one of my new Sizzix dies.  More on those another day.  :-)  The pretty 3-d stickers are by K&Co, as is the patterned paper. The ribbon? I didn't have any of that either, but I did have a new tank top.  The ribbon came from the pieces they sew in to help hang the clothing without slipping. Didn't need it for a hanger and rather than toss it I added it to my (tiny) embellishment pile.  Came in handy for this card!

The pictures aren't the best - sorry about that ... I'll try to do better with the next card I show using these Sizzix Flip-It dies. And I can't wait to get back into my studio and play with them using the stuff I have in there!

Basically you lift up that top flap, and the center piece flips and rotates. The picture above shows what the reverse side of the fancy cut-away piece looks like, while the card is opening. Tthe bottom pic shows it fully open.

Three Happy Dogs

I have a photo to share today ...

We were visiting Arizona last month, and all three dogs ended up by the spa at the same time I had my camera out. Talk about good timing!

They loved the sunshine, and running around the yard chasing birds.  I loved the sunshine and watching them run around the yard chasing birds.

Sparkling Snowflake Cards

Well our first round of company are on their way to their respective homes, and I have a couple of days before the house fills up again. Today I thought I'd share a couple of Christmas cards.

I love (LOVE) dies, so was excited about this large Sizzix snowflake die. It's just a little too big for the front of an A2 card, but will be perfect when I use the larger 6.5 x 5" cards. For these two cards, I cut the snowflake out of heavy weight, glittery & sparkly card stock.

The smaller snowflake was cut from pearlized paper using a Martha Stewart punch.

With the sparkly snowflakes on the patterned paper, and the foam tape - these cards are very festive!

'Joyful Life' ATC

We have a bunch of company and we are out having fun. That means I'm not getting ANY creative time and hardly any computer time. Today it's cooler so I'm sneaking some time in for a quick post ... an ATC.

This Artist Trading Card is one I made for my friend Sue a long time ago - it still has my old blog watermark on the photo!

OK - everyone is getting ready for a hike, so ... gotta go again ...

'A Wish Came True' Baby Cards

I had these sweet baby feet charms leftover from our daughter's baby shower, and they inspired these baby cards!

I Cricut cut the frame/words using the 'Storybook' cartridge, because - even though it is more of a wedding cartridge, the words seemed very fitting for a new baby. The words and frame were outlined with my Sakura gel-pen

These are the larger, 6.5 x 5" cards. I was excited to use my Cricut again, and once I have access to my studio again I want to use it more regularly.

Little Lizard Love Note

Today's share is a simple 'Love Note' that I can send to my grandkids to let them know Gramma is thinking about them.

I have really enjoyed this cute stamp set for Love Notes, and now that it's finally seen some ink I know I'll use it more. The images are just so sweet!

The card is 4-1/4" square and fits into an A2 envelope. I will hand-write a message inside when I pop it in the mail next week.

Christmas Joy Card

I have a Christmas card to share today, one I made using the Merry Monday Sketch #43.

While it's hard to see in the photo, I cut the MFT label die several times. Once from white and twice from pink. The pink ones were cut apart and layered behind the white one with a slight border showing. The colours match much better in real life than in the photos.

This is a 6.5 x 5" card, and the green printed panel is slightly shimmery.

Roses and Butterflies

Here is another card that just makes me happy. I LOVE this large Sizzix die - and when I got it home I immediately cut a whole stack of cards from K&Co paper.  When I finished this one, I popped it in the mail for a pen-pal.

There is just something about a cut-away edge on a card that has always appealed to me. I was lucky enough to pick up a couple more 'fancy' card dies on a recent visit to Arizona.  :-)

Since I started making the larger 6.5 x 5" cards, I have steered away from the standard A2 size. Dies like this have me liking the A2 size again.  :-)

Lori LOVED her card, so that made me feel pretty good. It made BOTH of us happy!

Thanks for stopping by today.
