C4C309 Barn Pop Stand Happy Harvest

Good morning friends

It's Saturday and that means a new challenge at the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog. Jessie Rone is our Hostess for October, with Tangii Crain as our Guest Designer. Jessie's challenge is a colour challenge: Rust, Hunter Green and Sun Yellow (Think Fall Leaves)

I was so happy with how this card turned out! It was the Thanksgiving card we gave to our eldest Daughter, who would dearly love to live on a farm.

Initially I had planned on doing a single layer card, but the patterned paper cracked badly at the fold so I had to add Scotch Tape to reinforce it, then layer patterned paper panels over the front and back. I ended up liking the look though, so it's all good. I loved the shiny, embossed texture on the front panel. I added the little vellum, beaded sunflower stickers as well.

Inside it's a Barn Pop Stand ... and when you open the barn doors there is a rooster inside the barn.

The sunflower stickers were added so I could get some green in for the challenge. :-) The other embellishments were fussy cut from a different sheet of paper from the stack.

Check out the C4C blog to see how the Crazies have been inspired by the challenge. We'd sure love to see your take on it, so be sure to stop by the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and link up your creations. If you are uploading to an online gallery, please use the keyword C4C309.

Western Poppy Birthday Card

Good morning friends

It's Flip-It Friday here on my blog, and I have a Z-fold card to share today using Karen Burniston's Rectangle Pull Card. Our niece is a country music fan so the new (and shipping soon) Props 6 were perfect for dressing up Poppy the Owl.

Poppy is on an Action Wobble, so she bobs and wobbles around on the front of the card.

Inside I added a couple more pieces from the Props 6 and Barbed Wire from the Western Edges. The words were hand lettered.

We got an email from her thanking us for such a fun card - she loved that it was personalized just for her. Happy Dance!

Demo Card - Floral Heart Pivot

Good morning friends

It's Throwback Thursday here on my blog and I have an older Heart Pivot card to share today.

This was a card I made for a Pop it Ups demo at Paper Pastimes in Calgary. Everyone was impressed by how quick and easy the Pivot Cards are yet they have such a WOW factor!

I snapped these pictures at the demo, after the card was assembled and the demo was over.

I did not keep track of the supplies I used, but obviously it was the Heart Pivot and Agatha Edges by Karen Burniston. Also Glitter dots and other dies  - all by Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Halloween Accordion Card

Good morning friends

I have another Gift Card Accordion to share today, but this time I am using it as a regular accordion card.

Yesterday's Gift Card Accordion used the little rectangle die as a base to write the words Gift Card on - today shows it cut from the PanPastel coloured background rectangle. This allows the background colour through the window, and for a spooky feel I added eyes from Chilly the Penguin and Lucky the Bunny Characters.

The Flourished Frame is gorgeous - it cuts in once piece and easily lines up with the accordion's outer edges. I cut mine from glitter patterned paper which adds a lot to the look as it catches the light. I also used an ECD Transfer sheet and the negative image of pumpkin Peel-Off's for the card.

The Celebrate die comes with the Flourished Frame, as do stacked rectangle dies. The largest one is pretty much the size of the inner rectangle, leaving just a tiny mat. But it covers up the notches for the gift card, so your Gift Card Accordion can do double duty!

I wrote on the back of the card with a gel pen, which showed up great on the black background.

Pretty Gift Card Accordion

Good morning friends

I have a Gift Card Accordion to share today, using new dies by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs. These dies will be shipping at the end of the month, so be sure your local independent retailer have placed their pre-orders!

This is the front of the card, ready to be slipped into the envelope. These gift card holders are so cool though, I prefer to give them in a clear bag envelope instead.

Here is the card opened. I haven't purchased the gift card for it yet so created my own little gift card marker using the smallest rectangle in the Flourish Gift Frame set (another new shipping soon Pop it Ups set). When I give this card, I can just slide out the place marker and slide in the Gift Card.

While the Flourished Frame is beautiful and made to work with the Gift Card Accordion, you can see the pretty score lines that come when you cut the accordion pages so you don't always need the Flourished Frame. Or you can add the Flourished Frame to the inner pages and have the scored lines on the outside ones!

The small stitched rectangle that I printed Gift Card On is included in the Gift Card Accordion set.

This is such a great die  - you can change it up easily by what papers you use and you can make them to coordinate with whatever gift card you choose!

Supplies
Gift Card Accordion, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Patterned paper - K & Company
White card stock
Wink of Stella
Fine Point Tweezers - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Sleigh Gift Card Pop-Up (gift), Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Black fine point marker
Pan Pastels - leftover on the sponge, for just a hint of colour

Ice Cream Tent Card

Good morning friends

I have another tent card to share today, this time using Karen Burniston's Fancy Frame Accordion die and dangling the label inside. Teammate Frances Byrne turned me onto these Tent Cards using the Accordion dies and I am hooked!

I couldn't resist these ice cream and cupcake dies from MFT - so used them for this card. I fussy cut the banner from patterned paper in the same stack and stamped the greeting on one of the decorator dies that comes with the Fancy Label Accordion. I rubbed a copper pencil crayon over the ice cream cone embossing to make it pop a little more.

The front edges were bowing a little, so I added narrow strips of card stock to the inside for support. Ha - sorry about the tilted photo below.

On the back I added a stamped panel - again ... a tilted photo. Not sure why I didn't do a better job of cropping the photos.

Supplies:
Fancy Frame Accordion, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Patterned paper - DCWV
Cream card stock
Kraft Card stock
Elizabeth Craft Designs Transparent Double Sided Tape - 1/4"
Wish Big - C.C. Designs
Ice Cream Cone and Cupcake dies - My Favorite Things
Pencil Crayons
Stickles
