Passover Stand Up Card

Good morning friends

Today's share is the card I made for our daughter and her little family to celebrate Passover. I just love this new Graphic 45 floral paper and how well it matched the peach card stock. Below is the card in the closed position, ready to pop into the envelope.

This is the card opened ... I did the words on the computer.

There is a little notch that cuts with the die - all the cutting and scoring is done for you with this die. When you fold the card along the front score lines, the notch holds it up for display.

Flip It Puppy Card

Good morning friends

It's Masculine Card Monday here on my blog, and I have a cute Flip-Its card to share today. My Dad is in a nursing home, and he enjoy's getting mail delivered to his room. Since he is a huge dog fan, it only made sense to use cute dog stickers on his card.

It's hard to see in the photos, but the plaid paper has silver foil accents, and the stickers have shiny, sparkly bits to them.

Here is a peek at the inside - I penned a short note to him there.  I noticed the paper was starting to lift off the card base in this photo, so glued it back down before I popped the card in the envelope.

Supplies:
Square Flip-Its #2 - Sizzix
Patterned paper - Recollections
White card stock
Stickers - Sticko (Michaels)

Passover Card

Today's share is the Passover card I made for my parents to give to our middle daughter and her little family.  This was the first time I've made a Passover card, so I wasn't really sure what images to use. Finally I went with yellows (for Light and Love) and a butterfly for Spring.

Here is a peek at the inside:

Supplies:
Patterned paper - Momenta
White card stock

C4C279 Think Spring Hybrid Card

It's Saturday and that means a new challenge at the Crazy4Challenges Blog. Our hostess for March is Anja de Regt, and her Guest Designer is Andrea Murdock (My Stamping Heaven).

This is not what I intended to create for this challenge. I was thinking more along the lines of the Pop it Ups Garden Bench ... but the new Adirondack Chair die is stored on the same magnetic sheet as the Garden Bench, so I decided to use it instead.  I also used a digital scrapbooking kit and some graphics to create the card.

I added the printed and fussy cut flowers around the pop up Adirondack Chair but the rest was printed as a single piece.

I printed an extra piece of the cloud background and also of the green, to slip in behind the openings created by the Adirondack chair. I like the seamless look this gives. The chair was die cut again from white card stock, and adhered over the original one, which had the blue clouds on the top and the green polka dots on the seat and legs from the original cut.

I added Stickles to the banners and pink Glitter Dots to the flower centers.

All in all, I was happy with how this turned out. I still need to work on my sizing, as it can be tricky (for me) working from the computer screen and visualizing how it will print out to assemble a pop up card.  LOVE the Adirondack Chair - it's going to be so much fun to play with and it's so easy to create. Karen Burniston thought of everything - look at the embossed texture on the arms of the chair!

This card is going to my Mother-In-Law for Mother's Day.

Check out the blog to see how the Crazies have been inspired by the challenge.  We'd sure love to see your take on it, so be sure to stop by the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and link up your creations. If you are uploading to an online gallery, please use the keyword C4C279.

Butterfly Flip-Its Card

It's Flip-It Friday here on my blog, and I have a pretty butterfly Flip-It to share today.

I made this card to send to my Mom, as she had not been feeling well. I penned a little note on the white square on the flip side.

Glitter glue on the butterfly body and flower centres gave it some sparkle and shine.

Shamrock Pull Card

Good morning friends

I had printed a couple of extra paper panels when I made my friends Birthday card (see HERE), so used them to make a surprise St. Patrick's Day card for my Mom. I don't usually send her a card for St. Patrick's Day but I know she loves to get Happy Mail.

I used the Spiral Circle Pull Card die for the card base, which is a Pop it Ups die by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs.

I just happened to have some gold Washi Tape, so I added it along the fold.

I also decided to add a stamped, die cut dog to yesterday's Adirondack chair Pop Up. So cute!

Supplies:
916 Spiral Circle Pull Card, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
7018 Glitter Dots - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Patterned Paper - Digital kit, 'Bit o Blarny' Mary Fran (Nitwit Collections)
White card stock

Karen Burniston's March 2015 Designer Challenge ... 'Make Them Laugh"

Today is Day Two of Karen Burniston's March 2015 Designer Challenge, and I have two completely different cards today featuring the same Funnybones stamp.

I had fun creating the front of this card, using the Outdoor Edges and one of the Evergreen trees from the Evergreen Pivot die. I crumpled and inked the top layer of the large Evergreen for additional texture.

Here is a peek at the inside.  The rest of the saying is:  "Preferably in a hotel.  With a pool.  And a spa."  Ahahaha - my kind of camping!  Note, I cut the stamp into two pieces so I didn't have to fuss with masking and smudges.

The Holiday House and two additional trees from the Evergreen Pivot are attached to the Lorna Label Pop Up, so the entire scene pops up as the card is opened.

I cut additional trees for the Tree Line Outdoor Edge, inked and popped them up with foam tape over the original bases. The tree trunks were coloured with a Copic Marker.

For my second - much simpler - card, I used the same Funnybones stamp but a different theme entirely.

Inside I used the new Adirondack chair. I was surprised that this was actually the first time I've used that die as I've been having too much fun with the rest of the CHA Spring 2015 release! It was a snap to put together and I can't wait to play with it more.

The Designer Challenge Team is linked in my Blog Roll on the right - you will want to see what they've come up with this challenge. Also remember to check the Elizabeth Craft Designs BLOG tomorrow morning when Karen Burniston has her post and project.

Karen Burniston's March 2015 Designer Challenge - First Card

Welcome to the first day of Karen Burniston's March Designer Challenge - this month Karen Challenged us to "Make Them Laugh".  There are so many great humorous stamps out there, it was fun choosing which one to use.

I rarely go and purchase something just for these challenges, but I had dropped into Paper Pastimes in Calgary to say HI and bring Carole a Pop it Ups card sample. Of course I had to do a little shopping too. As soon as I saw this Impression Obsession stamp I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it for the challenge.

This card was just SO much fun to make!  I'm loving Buster the Dog cut from peach patterned paper.  I added Glossy Accents inside the mask, on the tub spout, the raised bubbles and the claw feet.

I like the look of a circle layered onto the Lorna Label, but this circle was too big and covered too much of the label. So I cut the label in half and adhered it on either side of the stamped circle and ... problem solved!

Love that little duckie. I save most of my glittered scraps, so cut it from one of those scraps and added colour with Copics. The smallest black Glitter Dots make a perfect eye!

You will want to see what the rest of the Designer Challenge Team has come up with for the challenge - their Blogs are linked on the right. Karen Burniston will have her project on the Elizabeth Craft Designs Blog on Wednesday.
