C4C 335

Good morning friends

It's Saturday, and that means there is a new challenge on the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog. Our May Hostess is Barbara Anders and Wanda Cullen will joining us as our Guest designer this month.

Here is Barbara's challenge this week: "May is my birth month and the gemstone is emerald. Your challenge this week is to use emerald green on your card or project."

I've been having fun with the Lawn Fawn Cactus set, and since it was still sitting on my stamping table I decided to use it for my challenge card.  I also used the Oval Pull Card, the newest of the Pull Card series by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs. The notch holds the card in the closed position until the recipient pulls the sides to reveal the inside. I used a couple of Els border dies to the card and additional colour with markers.

Here is a peek at the inside. I added some pen work and handwriting along with the Hug die.

Check out the C4C blog to see how the Crazies have been inspired by the challenge. We'd sure love to see your take on it, so be sure to stop by the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and link up your creations. If you are uploading to an online gallery, please use the keyword C4C335.

Birthday Flip Cards

Good morning friends

It's Flip It Friday here on my blog, and I have a couple of Z Fold cards to share today in a Birthday theme.

I used the Spiral Circle Pull Card by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs ... still one of my very favourite dies. The card bases are A2 sized patterned cards ... the pattern is on the front and the solid colour is on the back. They are pre-scored, so I just  placed the alignment nubs on the score line and ran the SCPC through my Big shot. That gave me 5-1/2" square cards. On the Cupcake card,  I trimmed 1/4" off each side which allows it to fit nicely in a 5 x 7" envelope.

I've had these 3-d Stickers in my stash for a long time, so pulled them out to embellish the cards. I also used Els border dies and some coordinating card stock to add a pop of colour.

I stamped words on stitched circles and added one inside each of the cards. Done!

The Ice Cream Cone sticker card also has a stitched scalloped border along one side. I didn't trim the sides down on this one, so it will go in a square envelope and probably be hand delivered.

I'm quite happy with these cheerful cards ... into my stash for when I need a quick Birthday card.

Patterned A2 Cards
Spiral Circle Pull Card, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)

Stitched Circles - My Favorite Things

WIDE Birthday Pull Card

Good morning friends

I had fun making this card. Closed, it measures 9" wide x 6" high. Open it's a full 12" wide!

I wanted to take advantage of the sweet printed border on this patterned card stock, so I used the Spiral Circle Pull Card by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs. With the Pop it Ups card dies, you can decided on the size of your card.

Two of my Spring purchases from Elizabeth Craft Designs, are Joset's Cupcake and the Banners, and I used them on this card.

When the sides are pulled, the card opens and you can see the greeting and a place where we will write our message.

When the card is hand delivered, we will be slipping it into a flat white paper bag for the envelope.

Supplies:
Spiral Circle Pull Card, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Cupcake - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Banners -  Elizabeth Craft Designs
Patterned paper - Heidi Grace
Stitched circles - My Favorite Things
Metallic Gel Pens, Sakura
Stickles

Card size 9 x 6"

Large Birthday Flip-It Card With Orange Balloons.

Good morning friends

I had fun making this card - I just love the deep orange with the green on this patterned paper. Both sheets came from the same paper stack.

I used the 5 x 7" Circle Flip-It's by Sizzix, which comes with the balloon border and the pretty Happy Birthday Circle. The layered banner die was one of my purchases from the Mesa Rubber Stamp Show ... I'm a sucker for banners.

I was in a huge hurry when I made this card - when I have more time, I'd like to do another one but do ombre colouring on the stamped greeting. It would be so pretty done in colour! It's hard to see in the photos, but the orange patterned card stock has embossed glittery bits.

Supplies:
Circle Flip-It 5 x 7 - Sizzix
Patterned paper - DCWV
Banners - Our Daily Bread
Stitched Circles - My Favorite Things
Word Stamp - Papertrey Ink
Elizabeth Craft Designs Clear Double Sided Adhesive, 4" width

Card size - 5 x 7"

Peach & Teal Flip-It Birthday Card

Good morning friends

I always like to take a package of handmade cards to my dental hygienist Anne, so have started making them. This will be the first one. I know she sends Birthday Cards, so I will make her all Birthday cards this time. (Sometimes it's an assortment).

I've been having a lot of fun with Els' border dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs. Here I added some pen work detailing and a little glitter too.

I left the flip side blank for her to write a message on.

Supplies:
Square Flip-It - Sizzix
Patterned paper - Stampin' Up
Jewels 1 Border - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Blueprints #11 - My Favorite Things
Words - Papertrey Ink

Card size - A2

Metallic Happy Birthday Pop-Up Card for Olivia

Good morning friends

If you follow my blog, you know that it's hard for my parents to get out shopping for cards so I make their cards for them. This is their card for our Granddaughter Olivia's birthday. I love the pretty metallic foiled paper, and I think Olivia will love it too.

I cut the outer card longer, then folded the edges over the pink inner card. I used the Happy Birthday Pop Up but added hearts where the star cut out's are. It worked like a charm!

The words were stamped on one of Els Stitched Rectangles.

Supplies:
Patterned paper - Me & My Big Ideas
Pink card stock
Happy Birthday Pop-Up, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Chipboard Heart Stickers - Recollections
1120 Stitched Rectangles - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Oval Pull Card (heart), Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Word stamp - Stampendous
Stickles
Seam Binding

Card size - 5" Square

Holly Holiday Tags

Good morning friends

I have some new goodies - one is this pretty tag die from Hero Arts. I planned on making all my holiday tags this month, but so far I've only made a few. I am going to add some tags to my kids Christmas stockings, since they get those early. This die will also allow for lovely Hanukkah tags for Kelsey's stocking!

I think these tags will look so pretty packaged up in a flat cello bag.

Supplies:
Tag die & stamps - Lia Griffith, Hero Arts
Heavy White card stock - Papertrey Ink
Green card stock - scrap
Holly punch - Martha Stewart
Bakers Twine
Glitter Dots - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Easel (for display) - Elizabeth Craft Designs
