Heart Pivot Anniversary Card and Tent Gift Card Holder

Good morning friends

I have a gift set to share today, that we gave to our friends who are celebrating their 40th Wedding Anniversary.

For their card, I used the Heart Pivot, a Pop it Ups die by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft designs. While this die works for all kinds of different occasions - it is also perfect for Anniversary cards!

I added some pen work and fussy cut flowers to use as embellishments. Here is the front of the card:

And here is the card opened. I just love how much WOW you get from a Pivot Card! The decorated hearts pivot into the card as it is opened.

The stitched label is where we wrote our message and signed our names.

We also wanted to give them a little something, but we knew they'd be gifted with a lot of wine. Instead we gave them a gift card to a restaurant they go to frequently so they can treat themselves to dessert.

I LOVE the Tent Card that fellow teammate Frances Byrne came up with so wanted to make another one of those. Yet another way to use your Accordion dies! I used the Gift Card Accordion for this one, and a fussy cut flower was the only embellishment.

Usually when I make a Tent Card, I stamp a greeting on a decorated panel on the back. For this one though, I kept it really simple and wrote our message under the gift card.

Remember to check the Elizabeth Craft Designs Blog later this morning, when Karen Burniston has her post for the November 2015 Designer Challenge!

Karen Burniston November 2015 Designer Challenge Card #2

Good morning friends

Today I have my second share for Karen Burniston's Designer Challenge: "Pop it Ups Video Techniques - Choose any technique from any of my Pop it Ups videos going back to the beginning and use it for a card of any theme. Put your spin on the video techniques and make them even better!"

To make the challenge even sweeter, check out this ECD Promotion!... To coincide with the November Designer Challenge, every purchase made over $40 of Karen Burniston's Pop It Ups will receive a FREE $10 Gift Card. You will receive your Gift Card with your order in the mail and your Gift Card can be used on the Elizabeth Craft Designs website. This offer only applies to purchases made on our website between Tuesday 17th November and Thursday 19th November.

I sort of cheated on this one. You see, teammate Shelly Hickox made another amazing concertina card and posted it on the Elizabeth Craft Designer Blog and I immediately wanted to try it out. You can see Shelly's card HERE and HERE.

This is not the first concertina card Shelly made either - her first one can be seen HERE, along with a little video clip showing how it works. She credits Karen Burniston as coming up with the method of using the Accordion dies to create a concertina card, which is totally brilliant.

Don't you love it when you can get double duty from your dies? Below is the card folded up and ready to go into the envelope. While it's a very dimensional card, it folds down almost completely flat for easy mailing.

When you take the card out of the envelope, it springs open showing these fun farm Characters ready to party.

The expanding tree from the Christmas Tree Pop Stand works perfectly on the back page ... I couldn't resist adding it. To make it more festive and less like a woodland tree, I added a bunch of tiny flowers from the Props 7. It cuts three at a time, so it was fast to make a whole bunch of flowers. They were lightly coloured with PanPastels before adhering to the card.

While Brownie the Cow was cut from digital printed paper, Snowball the Sheep, Cheepers the Chicken and Virgil the Pig were cut form the new Elizabeth Craft Designs Soft Finish Card Stock and coloured with PanPastels.

Here is another look at the expanding tree - SO fun!

Another look at the card ... it was so much fun to make and I hope you will try it too!

Be sure to check out the rest of the Designer Challenge Team - they've come up with some pretty great projects for this challenge. Karen Burniston will have her post on the Elizabeth Craft Design Blog tomorrow (Yay!).

Karen Burniston November 2015 Designer Challenge Card #1

Good morning friends

Welcome to Karen Burniston's Designer Challenge -  "Pop it Ups Video Techniques - Choose any technique from any of my Pop it Ups videos going back to the beginning and use it for a card of any theme. Put your spin on the video techniques and make them even better!"

I chose to do a Double Katie Label Pivot Card, and you can see Karen Burnston's video HERE

Here is the front. I used a lightly patterned paper for the card base,  and added colour with Pan Pastels. I cut the Western and Outdoor edge pieces from scrap white paper using them as a stencil.

Here is the card fully open!

I combined stamps from THREE different clear stamp sets on the labels. You can click on the pictures to enlarge them if you want to see more detail.

Howdy gorgeous ... it's your birthday, and yee haw ... kick up your heels are stamped on the first two labels.

Celebrate Baby, and Happy Birthday are on the final two.

I added a couple of extra horses to add some interest and to keep the border from looking too repetitive, since I used four of them.

I hope you will see how the rest of the Designer Challenge team has interpreted this challenge - they are linked on the right side of my blog. Karen Burniston will have her project on the Elizabeth Craft Designs Blog on Wednesday

Puppy Birthday Card

Good morning friends

Every once in awhile I like to pull out my older dies - and this puppy is one of them.

I cut her out of sparkly patterned paper, and added some of the ECD black velvet adhesive for her nose. The cupcake dies don't come with the shadow layer, so I attached them to black card stock and fussy cut it out. Otherwise it just seemed to disappear into the background of the card.

A stamped greeting inside, with a little Peel-Off candle and the card is done.

Card blank and envelope - Michaels
Puppy Dog die - Sizzix
Patterned paper - DCWV
Elizabeth Craft Designs Clear Double Sided Tape

C4C312 Feminine with Buttons

Good morning friends

It's Saturday and that means a new challenge at the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog:  "Hi......Joanne/jojot here with this week's challenge.  My birthday is November 16.  That day is also Button Day this year.  Your challenge this week is to make a feminine birthday card with buttons on it."

I used one of my favourite Pop it Ups dies - the Spiral Circle Pull Card - and the newest Character, Lucky the Bunny for my card.

This time, I added a panel to the SCPC, giving me lots of room to write a note inside.  The 'thanks' comes with the Flourished Frame, and I added an embossed label from the Katie Label Pivot set.

When you open the folded panel, there are three more 'thanks' ... all of them were cut from white card stock and coloured with PanPastels.

The Props 7 Basket is SO cute ... I filled here with fussy cut flowers from ta scrap the same patterned paper that I used for the card base.

Check out the C4C blog to see how the Crazies have been inspired by the challenge. We'd sure love to see your take on it, so be sure to stop by the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and link up your creations. If you are uploading to an online gallery, please use the keyword C4C312.

Christmas Pop-Up Cards #1 & 2

Good morning friends

Here are the first two Christmas cards I made using older Karen Burniston Sizzix dies. I had a dozen (or more!) inner and outer cards all cut out and ready for assembly before Karen B moved over to Elizabeth Craft Designs and I fell in love with the Pop it Ups. But I really do need to get things finished in my stamping room ... so here you go.

The word labels on the front have gold foil accents, and I added gold washi tape on the inside top & bottom edges.

The clear stickers inside (both cards are identical inside) are all glittery as well.

Into my Christmas card stash with these ones.

Supplies
A2 Pop 'n Cut with Wavy Label Insert - Karen Burniston (Sizzix)
Gold Washi tape
Clear glittered stickers - Dollar Store
Patterned paper - Momenta
Foiled accents - K & Company
