Pop-Up Thank You

Good morning friends

I wanted to make a special thank you card for someone who works very hard in our community. It had been a very stressful time for the Association and I wanted her to know that we appreciated everything she did.

I used some older Karen Burniston Pop 'n Cut dies and pretty botanical paper from my stash. In the photo below, you can see where I added some shimmer to the bird with a Wink of Stella pen, and a Glitter Dot eye.

Inside, the word THANKS is what pop's out. Love that.

I like to use square cards when I am hand delivering them - as square envelopes just look so good to me. :-)

Supplies:
Square Pop 'n Cut base with Thanks insert - Karen Burnison (Sizzix)
Thanks Sizzlett - Karen Burnison (Sizzix)
Bird Sizzlett - Karen Burnison (Sizzix)
Branch Sizzlet - Sizzix
Patterned paper - K & Company
Glitter dots - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Butterfly - K & Company

C4C314 Birthday Bunny Pull Card

Good morning friends

It's Saturday and that means a new challenge at the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog: "Tomorrow, November 29, is National Square Dancing Day.  To help celebrate this day, think ‘square’.  Make a square card OR use square elements on your non-square card.

As this is the last challenge of November, we would like to thank our guest designer, Karen Dunbrook, for sharing her fabulous talents with us this month."

I had so much fun making this card. It was one of the first times I'd used Lucky the Bunny, one of Karen Burniston's newest Character dies. I added Lucky to the Rectangle Pull Card, which has two slots cut in it to thread the seam binding through.

The patterned paper ended up cracking along the folds, so I added colourful Washi Tape along the back folds for added stability. The balloons were fussy cut from a scrap of the patterned paper, and the hill portion that Lucky is sitting on was hand cut. I also added a grass sprig from the Fence Pop Stand.

Here is a look at the card when the sides are pulled to open it:

Check out the C4C blog to see how the Crazies have been inspired by the challenge. We'd sure love to see your take on it, so be sure to stop by the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and link up your creations. If you are uploading to an online gallery, please use the keyword C4C314.

Masculine Beer Card

Good morning friends

It's Throwback Thursday on my blog and I have an older masculine card to share today.

I made it with SCAL (Sure Cuts A Lot) and my Cricut ... back before Provo Craft decided they didn't want people using SCAL with their machine. Ticked me off so much I haven't bought a Cricut cartridge since. In fact, I don't use my Cricut hardly at all anymore. So this SVG set was from SVGCuts and I thought the case of beer would be a fun card for our son's birthday, and he really really liked it!

Christmas Tree Pop-Up Cards

Good morning friends

When I first got my Pop 'n Cuts dies (older dies by Karen Burniston) I was hooked. I cut a bunch of Christmas cards and had them ready to assemble. Even though I am now all about Pop it Ups (Karen Burniston's newest line) I want to use up the things I've started so here are a pair of Christmas Tree Pop Up cards.

The tree and gifts are K & Company die cuts that I've had in my stash for a very long time.

Inside, both cards are identical. I added gold Washi tape, and a gold foiled die cut ornament (same package as the tree's.)

Here is a side view of the inside so you can see the pop up a little better.

Supplies:
A2 Pop 'n Cut Card with Wavy Label Insert - Karen Burniston (Sizzix)
Patterned paper - Momenta
Gold Washi - Stampin' Up
Words - Stamping 'Up
Stitched oval - My Favorite Things
Tree and ornament die cuts - K & Company

Santa Tent Card

Good morning friends

I have another tent card to share today, using the Gift Card Accordion. I love getting more use out of my dies, and teammate's Frances Byrne's idea of using the Accordions to make Tent Cards is one of my favourites.

The patterned paper has gold flecks in the snowflakes, and it was perfect to use this 3-d sticker from my stash.

I added a stamped greeting on the back, which is where we will sign our names when we go to send the card over the holidays.

Supplies:
Gift Card Accordion, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Flourish Frame (Rectangles, Celebrate), Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Santa sticker - Stash
White card stock
Patterned paper - DCWV
Words - Papertrey Ink

Masculine Gift Card Holder

Good morning friends

It's Masculine Card Monday here on my blog, and I have a couple of shares today. First up is the Gift Card Holder I made for our son's birthday. I had hoped to use Karen Burniston's new Gift Card Holder Accordion for this, but it did not arrive in time.

The Sizzix Card with Flap is one that works well for Gift Cards, as you can fit the cardboard holder that the gift card comes in inside it. I added some stitched kraft strips, a stamped panel and die cut button w/ twine.

Here is the inside - I adhered the gift card folder that came with the card, inside my Gift Card Holder, and stamped the words *Buy Your Own Present! on the lower flap.

Supplies:
A2 Card with Flap - Sizzix
White card stock
Patterned paper - Colorbok
Blueprints #1
Marker - Stampin' Up
Word Stamps - Stampin' Up
Kraft card stock
Fine point Tweezers - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Button Twine - Papertrey Ink

Floral Hello Card

Good morning friends

Earlier this Spring I ordered this lovely floral die cut. It cuts out a band from your card ... and I don't have anything like that in my die collection.

The card base is a beige astroparche, and I backed the opening with lightly blue patterned paper.

The Hello is one of Suzanne Cannon's 'A Way With Words' dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs. They are SO beautiful. I cut this one from a coordinating patterned paper and adhered it to the front of the card. I added a touch of yellow PanPastels to the flower enters.

Here is a peek at the inside of the card. The blue panel was also coloured with PanPastels.

Into my stash with this one!

Supplies:
Flower Border Die - Frantic Stamper
Beige Astroparche card stock
Fine Pont Tweezers - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Patterned paper - K & Company
PanPastels
Hairspray (to set pastels)
1055 Hello, A Way With Words - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Blueprints #24

C4C 313 Christmas Pull Card

Good morning friends

It's Saturday and that means a new challenge at the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog: "As is our tradition with the Crazy4Challenges DT, since this is the third challenge of the week, it is SKETCH time.  Hope you have fun with this one.  If not, you can blame me, Joanne/jojot."

My card today loosely uses the sketch.

I had coloured this pretty glitter Peel-Off last year, but didn't end up using it. So it was time to add it to a holiday card! I used the Spiral Circle Pull Card for the card base, adhering the Katie Label shaped Peel-Off on the right side of the circle.

Inside I added a patterned paper circle with fussy cut flowers, and a stamped circle as well. The right side needed something else, so I added a strip of patterned paper ... which is where I deviated from the sketch. The paper papers each have glittered bits on them, perfect for a Christmas card.

Check out the C4C blog to see how the Crazies have been inspired by the challenge. We'd sure love to see your take on it, so be sure to stop by the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and link up your creations. If you are uploading to an online gallery, please use the keyword C4C313.

Thanksgiving Flip-It Card Duo

Good morning friends, and welcome to Flip-It Friday here on my blog.

I found these resin circle stickers in my Thanksgiving stash, and knew the Triple Circle Flip-its would be perfect to use them.

The first card uses the card die as it was intended. I added a sparkly patterned paper strip down the left side.

Inside I added some die cut leaves to the circles and we will add our greeting to the scalloped circle .

For the second card, I turned the card base horizontally and used some foiled patterned paper and other embellishments from my stash.

The card opens like an Easel card when you do it this way.

Supplies:
Brown card stock - Stash
Triple Circle Flip-Its - Sizzix
Patterned paper - Recollections
All Seasons Tree (leaves), Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Resin circle stickers - Recolletions
Stamped words - The AlleyWay Stamps
Misti stamping tool - My Sweet Petunia
Acorns - K & Company
Cream card stock

Card size - A2
