Good morning friends
Yay! It's time for Karen Burniston's Designer Challenge and this month Karen's Challenge is "Pop it Ups for every month". I chose July (Canada Day) and October (Thanksgiving), and will share my October card tomorrow.
I've been using the Spiral Circle Pull Card (SCPC) die a lot lately, so I decided to use it again to create a stylized Canadian flag using red and white card stock.
The SCPC card base was cut from white, and the red panels were embossed using Karen B's Damask embossing folder before attaching to each side.
I used the same embossing folder to emboss the front circle layer - which was cut using the Clock and Gears set as it fits perfectly over the circle area. The leaf was stamped and fussy cut, then popped up with foam tape.
Inside, the optional spiral was cut into the SCPC, centring it on the circle portion. Note, this was done BEFORE attaching the embossed circle & Maple Leaf. I used the little maple leaf die that comes with the (endlessly versatile) All Seasons Tree, cutting them from red card stock scraps. Glue Dots hold each one in place randomly on the spiral, which is revealed when the card is pulled open.
A little hand lettering around the outer edge and my card was finished!
Make sure to check out what the rest of the Designer Challenge Team has come up with - their blogs are linked on the right.
