Banner Thank You Card

Good morning friends

My friend knows how much I like banners, so she picked me up this fun banner die by We R Memory Keepers as a fun surprise. I made her a Thank You card using it. :-)

I'd been in a major mo-jo slump as well, so I credit her with getting my creative juices flowing again.

The die cuts the little triangle openings, and for this card I drew little penned lines above each banner.  I die cut the Thank You from the bottom centre then lined the inside front with this patterned paper. Note, I added back in the small centre sections from the 'a' and the 'o' .

Here is a look at the inside. The patterned paper is double sided, so the black pattern that shows through the die cuts on the front is actually this pretty tan print on the reverse. I attached the white Thank You that I die cut from the front, on this flap.

Metallic Father's Day Pull Card

Good morning friends

I'm really enjoying making 5 x 7 cards these days - one of the great things about the Pop it Ups dies by Karen Burniston, is that you get to CHOOSE the size of card you want to make. That's right - with a single die, you can make multiple sized cards, and place the circle (or oval or rectangle if you chose that die instead of the SCPC) anywhere along the score line you choose to. Is it any reason why I love the Pull Card dies so much?

Today, for Masculine Card Monday here on my blog, I used the Spiral Circle Pull Card to make a Father's Day card.

The patterned paper has foiled accents which I thought were fun. My Jewel border dies (Elizabeth Craft Designs) were within my sight  so I cut two and added one to each side. Since the card is for a man, I didn't add Glitter Dots into the open areas of the borders, but I really wanted to. :-)

I have to make 4 Father's Day cards for us, and 4 for my Mom ... so I need to get working on them!

Happy Holidays Tags

Good morning friends

Today I have another set of holiday tags to share.

These ones have a glittered banner with a 3-d sticker in the centre. I've had these stickers in my stash for a very long time so it was fun to finally use them! There is a stamped 'to & from' on the back side of the tags.

These are so sparkly and perfect for the holidays. I'm loving this tag die!

On a personal note, my mouth seems to be healing very well! The antibiotics are very hard on my stomach - apparently they had to prescribe a potent one because of the Methotrexate I'm on for the RA but I only have to take it for two more days. Lots of probiotics being consumed in this house as well.

Getting a little tired of soft food but still very happy with how everything is progressing.

C4C339 - Make it Floral

It's Saturday and that means a new challenge at the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog. I am the hostess for June and our Guest Designer is fellow Designer Team Challenge-mate Caz Counsell from Stamping Caz. Thanks for joining us this month Caz!

My challenge this week is "Make it FLORAL. Add a single flower, add a full bouquet or even make a flower shaped card - let’s see some blooms on your projects this week."

I made a special card for the challenge. I was working ahead as I knew May would be too busy to do much in the way of crafting so my challenge card is the one I made my Mom for Mother's Day.

The card base was cut from purple card stock with the Oval Pull Card by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs. I also cut a window from the oval, lined it with a transparency and added a narrow oval frame to hide the glued transparency edges. That idea came from Karen B herself, in one of her Designer Challenge Videos.

My Mom loves pansies, so I added these beautiful 3-d pansy stickers that I'd purchased for her card. See the ribbon? The Oval Pull Card comes with an optional slot and slider - so I used the slot die here to cut an opening for the seam binding to thread through. I've done this before, but don't think I've ever mentioned the technique.

In the photo below, you get a better look at the transparent window.

I used a pretty, glittery stencil paste and the Swirly Flourish Stage-it Stencil to add some more shimmer, shine and texture to the card.

Cupcake Flip-It card

Good morning friends

It's Flip-It Friday here on my blog and I have a Cupcake Flip-It card to share today. The Sizzix Bigz Flip-It's are what started my love of Flip-It cards - and it's no secret I love Flip-It cards! Every once in a while I like to pull out my Bigz dies again and that is how this card came about.

The sweet cupcake is by Joset at Elizabeth Craft Designs.  I used my favourite dot stamp (Stamps by Judith) as well.

Friendship Wheel Card

Good morning friends

It's Throwback Thursday here on my blog, and I have a Wheel card to share today that I made almost as soon as I got the die.

I really haven't played with this one enough ... more ideas than time but that is not a complaint!

I added some fun hand lettering that changes as you turn the wheel.

On a personal note, I had my consult with the oral surgeon yesterday. Once he was done the examination I asked if he could do the extraction right away instead of waiting to get another appointment. He agreed so I now have one less bottom molar and hopefully the abscess will be gone for good.

A couple of days of pain & swelling and a week of antibiotics and I can move on with getting my RA into remission. Thankfully I have a couple of days of blog posts scheduled and ready to go.

Hey Chickie Pull Card

Good morning friends

Today's share is a Birthday card made using the Hanging Charm Pull Tab die by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs.

I added Cheepers the Chicken holding a balloon on the front - the Swirlydoo from the Rectangle Pull Card makes a great balloon string!

When you slide the tab at the top, Cheepers stands up and reveals the penned greeting.

Because I tend to make these flat, post card style cards I add a little decorating to the back as well.

Today is my consult with the oral surgeon, so hopefully all goes well and we can get on with things. Everything is stalled on my new RA drug but I'm thinking everything will line up for me to start on them once this abscessed molar is removed and my jaw has healed. Fingers crossed!
