New House Cards

Last month, BOTH our daughter/new hubby, and our son/girlfriend bought houses and moved in. I sent each of them a card to celebrate.

 

The card in the foreground was made using a Stampin Up roller stamp. I sometimes need to make house themed cards for a realtor friend, so that is why I purchased that particular roller. 

 

I rolled the background several times on a white card stock panel and again on a scrap. The scrap piece was cut out into a square, light colour added with a water brush and chalks, then it was matted on a caramel torn edge panel.

 

A strip of glitter house paper with layers of green card stock and orange glitter paper, and a word stamp (Gina K) stamped with orange ink. I LOVE this paper and colour combo.

We wrote our good wishes inside and sent the cards off to the happy couples.

Happy Birthday Tree Card

Hello and welcome to another Masculine Card Monday. This is the card I made for our SIL's birthday. I had found a package of these puffy felt tree stickers and of course I had to buy a package. They work so well for masculine cards!

I also used the Rolodex die I found on the SU clearance rack awhile ago. I have fun with that die for sure.

I popped it up with foam tape, after stamping it with the two (Verve) stamps.  This A2 card features a green card base and was lined with white card stock for stability. The green patterned paper was also popped up as we were hand delivering the card.

There were a couple of other tree stickers in the package and I used them for a couple of cards that I will share those another day.

'Just Because' Card

'I love this flower die from Papertrey Ink. Love it. I've had it awhile, but this is the first card I've used it on - and it completely lived up to my expectation.

I don't have my notes handy, but I believe the words are by Gina K (or Verve, or possibly MFT or PTI) but I'm pretty sure the label die is by MFT. Word window punch is by Stampin' Up, and the fabric brad is by K&Co. Papers from my stash.

The pretty orange cardstock is 'Canyon Clay' by PTI - another new favourite of mine.

It's taken me forever to get this posted today. We had to take people to the airport and have had some drop in company. But I'm finally ready to hit 'publish' now!

Anniversary Card

 

I used some metallic paper from a Christmas paper stack to make this 5.5" square card. The bling stickers were from Michaels,  and the label is a Cricut cut. I often cut a 12x12" sheet of various labels to have on hand, so I don't know which cartridge this one comes from.

I think it might need a heart or something in the center of the two glasses, I'm still thinking about adding it. At any rate, it's just a quick and easy card to add to my stash ...

Ivory Scarflet and Crochet Flower

This was a Christmas gift for my cousin. She had bought a cream crochet hat at a craft sale, so I made this to match - using a pattern by Brenda Myers. My cousin loves bling. Her Granddaughter Shae calls her Grandma Bling, ha ha.  So I added shiny gold buttons to her scarf. The crochet flower has a gold button with a rhinestone and a pin at the back so she could add it to the center of her scarflet or onto her hat!

Again, the thing I love about this pattern, is that the collar can be turned down or left up. She was so happy with her gift - I wrapped it together with my Moms and they opened them together. :-)

I have a new project on my loom right now, and hope to share pictures soon.

Hot Air Balloon Birthday Card

Well it happened! I got to go to the Mesa Arizona 'Rubber Stamp Event'. !! I've never been in the US when there has been a Rubber Stamp show on before, so I couldn't believe my good luck when I found out that I would be here for this one. AND that hubby was willing to drive me to it & come back to pick me up.

Barbara, the event organizer, told me that people come from all over to attend this show - and I can say that I overheard many people today saying just that. It was SO much fun. There were demo's, 'make & take's, classes - and lots & lots of stamps for sale. Ahhhhh - I was in heaven.

I was actually surprised to see how many punches and die's were there as well as the stamps. While I managed to find a few new dies for my collection, it was the rubber stamps I was there to see & shop for and I did just that. I didn't have an opportunity to take any of the classes, but I did watch several demos and really enjoyed talking to people while lining up to pay at the different booth's.

As always, the display boards were amazing and it was fun to see some older companies whose images I haven't seen in years. One of my favourite stops (other than Stampscapes) was the 'Stamps By Judith' booth. I have to admit that I fell madly in love with a couple of her critters and their accessory stamps. When I get home and back to my studio, I will be using them to make some CUTE cards. CUTE, versus pretty or floral or serious or vintage or anything remotely Tim Holtz. Just CUTE. I can't wait.

I made this for the Less Is More Week 52 challenge, but of course never got it posted. I used that Hero Arts cloud stamp that I found in a clearance bin at a scrapbook store; both the word stamp & balloon are from the Michaels $1.50 bin. The A2 card base is kraft card stock.

First I stamped the hot air balloon on a strip of white card stock than masked it. The cloud stamp was stamped over that, then the balloon was coloured with Copic markers. I trimmed the cloud panel then popped it up with foam tape on the left side of the card.

The card looks square in this photo, but it is actually an A2 size. I stamped the clouds again on a white panel to put inside the card, and will add words to it when I go to send the card.

I had been hoping to find some birthday verse stamps at the Rubber Stamp Show today, but - no luck. Just many different 'happy birthday' words and I have lots of those already. I don't know that my Visa could have taken much more though - it was practically smokin' after the Stamps By Judith booth.

Tins of Chocolate

I am writing this post on Saturday, as I hope to be going somewhere especially exciting tomorrow morning (Sunday). If I do end up getting' there', I will be sure to let you know with my next post. Right now the plan is for me to go, but I can hardly believe my luck and will be holding my breath until I am dropped off at the front doors tomorrow morning.  In fact, I hope I can sleep tonight I'm so excited about this adventure. Fingers crossed! 

Meanwhile, for today's share - I made these tins up for our Christmas Craft Sale back in November. They didn't sell all that well, but I figured it was because we didn't have enough people come on the Saturday (our fault, for choosing a long weekend for the sale). A friend was going into a craft sale in her neighborhood the following weekend and offered to take them to her sale. Of course I said yes, and - they all sold there!

Each tin had sparkly designer paper on the front, and die cut layers.  They were tied up with pretty seasonal ribbon and a bow, and a die cut, stamped gift tag was added.  The stamp on the tag front is by Stampin' Up, and All Night Media makes the 'to & from' words.

Here is a peek at the inside, which was also lined with coordinating sparkly patterned paper - and there were a dozen paper wrapped mini chocolate bars inside. The bars are similar to Hershey Nuggets.
