Racoon and Beaver Valentine Cards

Good morning friends

It's Throwback Thursday here on my blog and I have a couple of Valentine's to share. I really want to get those pictures filed and not hold onto them until next February. :-)

This 'Clean and Simple' Valentine was made for my parents to give our son. I had done a Valentine with both the Racoon and Heart previously, but had stamped and coloured two of each so decided to assemble them to make a second card. This one is a different layout and not going to the same family as that first card so it all works.

I had just received my new Elizabeth Craft Designs order and wanted to play with Els new Curvy Ovals. I'd had my eye on them when they were first released, so I happily added them into my Spring order and they are FUN! The Valentine papers were on my stamping table so I decided to add a Baker the Beaver character (love him!!) and get a Valentine made for next year. So technically this one doesn't qualify for 'Throwback Thursday', but hey - it's my blog and I can bend my own guidelines. And now I can get that photo filed as well.

Racoon stamp - The Alley Way Stamps
White card stock
Pink card stock
Heart stamp - Verve

Cup of Hearts Valentine

Good morning friends

It's Throwback Thursday here on my blog, and I have a Valentine to share today. I just adore the shape of the cup from the Cup Pop Stand by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs, and when I cut it out of pink patterned paper I immediately thought of Valentine's Day.

The banner and puffy heart stickers were in my stash.

The inside was done on the computer, with some stamped hearts. This isn't for next year, it was mailed out for this past Valentine's Day.

Bee Mine Valentine and a Zentangle Tile

Good morning friends

I still have Valentine's to share! This is one that I made for my parents to give Zachary. The cute little bee was made last year when I was experimenting with the Silk Microfine Glitter over stamped images. There was a little wrinkle in the adhesive, but it still turned out pretty cute so I decided to keep it as Zachary won't notice that wrinkle.

I'm also sharing my Zentangle tile #10

C4C323 Racoon Pull Tab card

Good morning friends

It's Saturday, and that means a new challenge on the Crazy4Challenges BlogFebruary's hostess is Peggy McCurry and the Guest Designer is Vicki Dutcher at http://allidoisstamp.blogspot.com

Here is Peggy's Challenge: Tomorrow is Valentine’s Day and I am sure we will be seeing a lot of pinks and reds. The challenge today is to make a monochromatic card using pinks and reds.

I chose to use only pinks for this monochromatic Valentine, made using my new favourite Pop it Ups die - the Hanging Charm Pull Tab.

When you pull the tag, the little frame stands up and reveals the greeting underneath. I backed the frame with vellum and added a stamped & coloured racoon

I prefer to make my HCPT cards flat, post-card style. But I also like to decorate the back a little. This is how I decorated the back of this one.

Check out the C4C blog to see how the Crazies have been inspired by the challenge. We'd sure love to see your take on it, so be sure to stop by the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and link up your creations. If you are uploading to an online gallery, please use the keyword C4C323.

Little Plane Valentine

Good morning friends

Today's share is the Valentine card that I made for my parents to give Ethan. I'm still using up bits and pieces from my stash, and this little airplane was made last Spring. I'd been experimenting with adding the Silk Microfine Glitter over stamped images. The adhesive got a little wrinkle in it but the plane is still petty cute so I kept it to use.

The cloud background was sponged on using Karen Burniston's new Stage it Stencil, and I used her clear stamps as well.

Ethan will love this card, because it's BLUE and if you ask him his favourite colour he will shout BLUE!

Supplies:
Stitched Journal Card - Lawn Fawn
White card stock
Stage it Stencil - Partly Cloudy, Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Airplane - The Alley Way Stamps

Bee Mine Double Hanging Charm Pull Tab

Good morning friends

My card share today uses my new favourite die - the Hanging Charm Pull Tab, by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs.

I was tickled to find a Pull Tab embellishment in my stash, so that was added to the front to create a DOUBLE Pull Tab. The HCPT die sets comes with several charms - one of them is a coffee cup with a 'paper' liner. I used the liner (upside down) to create a pull on the pull tab and added an arrow from the Rectangle Pull Card.

Here is the embellishment Pull Tab open to reveal the heart inside the opening.

The back is left empty so I can write a note when I go to send the card.

Supplies:
Patterned paper - Pebbles
White card stock
Hanging Charm Pull Tab, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Be Mine Pull Tab embellishment - K & Company
Fine point pen - Staedtler

C4C 320 Challenge Card

Good morning friends

It's Saturday and that means a new challenge on the Crazy4Challenges Blog:  The 19th January was National Popcorn Day, so let's add some 'POP' to our cards be it by creating a card that includes the theme popcorn; creating a Pop Up Card; just Popping up your image using foam tape or just adding a Pop of color to a black & white card.

Popcorn is my favourite food on the planet. AND I have more than one popcorn stamp ... but I needed to be making Valentines so instead went with a Pop-Up Card.

This will be the Valentine for our Granddaughter, who at 4 will be able to read the word LOVE on the front.

Not only had I pre-cut dozens of Christmas card bases with an older Karen Burniston Pop 'n Cut die, I found three pre-cut bases in my Valentine card box. Managed to use two of them up this year though!

I had made our Grandson's Valentine's first and since they have a robot on them Olivia's had to have a robot as well. I added strips of Washi tape and doodled the dangling hearts.

Check out the C4C blog to see how the Crazies have been inspired by the challenge. We'd sure love to see your take on it, so be sure to stop by the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and link up your creations. If you are uploading to an online gallery, please use the keyword C4C320.

Valentine Flip-it Card and a Zentangle Tile

Good morning friends

It's Flip-It Friday here on my blog, and I have a Valentine Flip Its card to share today.

I continue my quest to Use Things Up, and this die is perfect for little bits and pieces.

We were recently away on a trip, and I worked hard to have my posts scheduled before we left. It was such a relief not to have to worry about posting when we were away and coming home I decided that my posts need to have less writing.

If you have questions, leave me a comment and I'll get back to you.

Today I am also sharing my Zentangle Tile #6

Supplies:
Triple Circle Flip It's - Stephanie Barnard (Sizzix)
Patterned paper - stash
Acetate embellishments - K & Company
XOXO envelope - Jolee's
Bakers Twine
White card stock
Happy Valentine's Day Flag - Recollections

Kraft Jar Pull Tab Card

Good morning friends

I have a Valentine to share today, made using my new favourite die - the Hanging Charm Pull Tab (HCPT) by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs. I have already used it a fair bit - all with the same basic layout. I have lots of ideas for other layouts on a larger card so will get to those as soon as I'm caught up.

This card base was embossed with an ECD embossing folder, but I smoothed out the area around the slider with the back of my fingernail so the sliding mechanism would be smooth. I added two arrows from the Rectangle Pull Card to indicate that the heart tab should be pulled in the direction of the arrows.

Here is the card in the opened position ...

This is a single panel card, but I still like to decorate the back a little.

Supplies:
Patterned Paper - Crate Paper
Kraft card stock
Cream card stock
Red glitter card tock - Recollections
Kraft Jar - Recollections
Hanging Charm Pull Card, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)

Rectangle Pull Card (arrow), Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)

Valentine Hot Air Balloon Pop-Up Card

Good morning friends

I have a Valentine card to share today, that is also a Pop-Up card. The front has this super sparkly heart patterned paper and a soft seam binding bow.

Inside I used the new Hot Air Balloon Pop-Up and one of the Pull Card Edges - both brand new sets by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs. They will be shipping later this month!

I'm really excited about the Hot Air Balloon ... and the little Pop-Up platform that comes with it is useful for putting little Pop-Ups on lots of different cards with different card sizes! I added some pen work to the card, and Zentangle inspired pen work to the lower balloon and basket. The cloud dies also come with the Hot Air Balloon.

This was one of the cards on display in the Elizabeth Craft Designs booth at CHA this past week!
