C4C 361 Strawberry Challenge Crd

Good morning friends

It's Saturday so that means a new challenge at the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog, and since it's a new month we also have a new Hostess! Our November 2016 Hostess is Maryann Einam and our Guest Designer is Doreen O'Brien from Doreen's Dream.

Maryann's challenge is:  Who resist fresh fruit that is in season, for me it is strawberries, so add some to your card. You don't like strawberries, just add you favorite fruit.

My knees had been really painful and filled with fluid so not working that well at all. I needed to do things that required little walking so I went through my bin of stamped, die cut and Cricut cut embellishments. Haven't looked in that bin since we moved and that was over two years ago! Found lots of fun goodies I look forward to creating with in the near future. One was a couple of these Cricut cut barrels, all inked and assembled and ready to go. Perfect timing for Maryann's challenge!

I chose a Centre Step card and some strawberry stamps & dies that I got when I belonged to the Stamps Of Life Die Hard club. I only used them once or twice so the challenge also worked for me trying to use some of my older products as well. The cute little fence? It's a Sizzix original die that I've had almost since I got my first Big Shot and it still makes me happy.

A little hand lettering inside and my card is ready for my Mother in Law's upcoming birthday.

Puppy Flip-It Card

Since my wonderful husband has been working on getting me a little crafting area at our cabin, my Cricut and I have renewed our friendship.  :-)

Yesterday when I was poking around in my studio, I came across this scrap of dog bone paper. Everything clicked and I made this cute puppy card using a Sizzix Flip-It die and a Cricut cut. The card itself was cut from brown Bazzil card stock, then the dog bone paper pieces were cut, trimmed and attached to the card base.

I wrapped the left side with narrow brown sheer ribbon and added some doodling.

The inside is left blank for now - the label is attached with removable adhesive so I can take it off to stamp or write a message when I decide who to send this card to and for what occasion.  :-) I didn't have anyone in mind, I was just making the card because I wanted to make a card.

I love this little dog bone, which comes with the Sizzix Scottie Dog die. I cut it twice - once from a scrap of white card stock and once from a chipboard coaster. When attached together it makes a nice sturdy embellishment.

The puppy was Cricut cut using the Doodlecharms cartridge and I added tiny black brads for his eyes. I wanted his ears to have some kind of pattern, so the dot stamp (Stamps by Judith) worked it's magic.

Santa and Rudolph and Chocolate ... Oh My ...

So the Kit-Kat chocolate bars in yesterday's photo? Well I actually had TWELVE of them. What's a better way to decorate Kit-Kat chocolate bars, than to disguise them as Santa and Rudolph.  And put them in the Craft Sale!

 

After using the Swiss Dots embossing folder to add texture to the red card stock, I taped it around the chocolate bar, enclosing it completely. Both ends were crimped, because I really like that look.

I used my Cricut and the Doodlecharms cartridge to cut out the faces, layered everything with glue and foam tape, then attached the head to the top of the wrapped chocolate bar. Glitter glue was added after the ribbon was attached around his middle. 

Instead of using the nose and hat pom-pom that cut with the file, I glued a red Dew Drop for his nose, and punched a 3/4" circle (Stampin' Up) out of sparkly white card stock.  Santa has sparkly eyes too, courtesy of black glitter glue.

I used the Doodlecharms cartridge so often last Christmas that I thought I'd give it a rest this year. Then Jayne (see my blogroll for her blog) used the Santa and Reindeer to make the most adorable gift boxes and I just had to get the cartridge out to play with again.

Next up -- Rudolph:

These are SO cute, that if they don't sell well I will have no problem tucking one in everyone's stocking this year. Rudolph was made the same, this time using kraft card stock and the textile embossing folder from Stampin' Up.

Some inking, some doodles, and a glitter glued nose.  :-)  The twill ribbon was from the Stampin' Up Clearance Rack. It is sooooo soft and easy to use. I kept thinking he needed SOMEthing else though.

The word stamp is by Verve, and the punches by Stampin' Up ... popped up with foam tape and then I was happy with them.

Here is a look at the Santa bars, all tucked into their box and ready to be put out for the sale today.  :-)
