Lotus Birthday Cards

Good morning friends

It's Throwback Thursday here on my blog, and I have a couple of older birthday cards to share. I made these to tuck into my Mom's stocking.

They are a large 5 x 7, and when I saw the water lily patterned paper while flipping through the stack for a different project, I knew just what I wanted to do for these cards.

The beautiful die is by Elizabeth Craft Designs, and I added Stickles around the petal bases for some shimmer & shine.

Here is a peek at the inside:

Masculine SCPC With An Extra Flap

Good morning friends

I was supposed to be on the  Elizabeth Craft Designs Blog this morning, but due to a glitch the post was mistakenly published on Wednesday You can find my post HERE. It's a masculine birthday Spiral Circle Pull Card with an extra flap, which gives you more room to write a message or add a larger greeting. Here is the card in the closed position;

Here it is part way open ...

And finally all the way open.

I added some gears from the Clock & Gears set, with red mini brads and fussy cut embellishments from patterned paper as well. The '4' was computer printed and fussy cut. For full step-by-step directions and measurements, be sure to check out Wednesday's post on the Elizabeth Craft Designs Blog.

This type of extra flap works for many different occasions, and all the Pull Cards! It's an easy way to change up the look of your cards in addition to giving you extra room for decorating. Try adding a spinner to that inner fold - or add the spiral to that side!

Masculine Beer Card

Good morning friends

It's Throwback Thursday on my blog and I have an older masculine card to share today.

I made it with SCAL (Sure Cuts A Lot) and my Cricut ... back before Provo Craft decided they didn't want people using SCAL with their machine. Ticked me off so much I haven't bought a Cricut cartridge since. In fact, I don't use my Cricut hardly at all anymore. So this SVG set was from SVGCuts and I thought the case of beer would be a fun card for our son's birthday, and he really really liked it!

Karen Burniston November 2015 Designer Challenge Card #1

Good morning friends

Welcome to Karen Burniston's Designer Challenge -  "Pop it Ups Video Techniques - Choose any technique from any of my Pop it Ups videos going back to the beginning and use it for a card of any theme. Put your spin on the video techniques and make them even better!"

I chose to do a Double Katie Label Pivot Card, and you can see Karen Burnston's video HERE

Here is the front. I used a lightly patterned paper for the card base,  and added colour with Pan Pastels. I cut the Western and Outdoor edge pieces from scrap white paper using them as a stencil.

Here is the card fully open!

I combined stamps from THREE different clear stamp sets on the labels. You can click on the pictures to enlarge them if you want to see more detail.

Howdy gorgeous ... it's your birthday, and yee haw ... kick up your heels are stamped on the first two labels.

Celebrate Baby, and Happy Birthday are on the final two.

I added a couple of extra horses to add some interest and to keep the border from looking too repetitive, since I used four of them.

I hope you will see how the rest of the Designer Challenge team has interpreted this challenge - they are linked on the right side of my blog. Karen Burniston will have her project on the Elizabeth Craft Designs Blog on Wednesday

Puppy Birthday Card

Good morning friends

Every once in awhile I like to pull out my older dies - and this puppy is one of them.

I cut her out of sparkly patterned paper, and added some of the ECD black velvet adhesive for her nose. The cupcake dies don't come with the shadow layer, so I attached them to black card stock and fussy cut it out. Otherwise it just seemed to disappear into the background of the card.

A stamped greeting inside, with a little Peel-Off candle and the card is done.

Supplies:
Card blank and envelope - Michaels
Puppy Dog die - Sizzix
Patterned paper - DCWV
Elizabeth Craft Designs Clear Double Sided Tape

Lucky Bunny Pop Up Gift Card Holder

Good morning friends

I have a scheduled post for today as we are on the road. I am loving Karen Burniston's newest Character - Lucky the Bunny, so I wanted to use her on a feminine birthday card. This card is also a Gift Card holder!

Lucky is on the front holding a bear balloon, which has been coloured with pearlescent PanPastels.

The Pop-up Sleigh Gift Card Holder is a great die set for making Gift Card Holders, and since the sleigh is independent of the Pop-Up mechanism, you can use it for any occasion! Here I used an Elizabeth Craft Designs cupcake die and mounted that on the Pop-Up platform.

There is even a set of clear stamps that coordinate with Lucky the Bunny Character, and I used them on the card as well. So fun! The stitched label is a decorator die that comes with the Lorna Label Pop-Up, and the little heart label is from the Lucy Label Pop-Up. The Pop-it Ups dies work together seamlessly.

Here is a side view of the Pop-Up so can can see the tuck slots for the Gift Card.

Supplies:
Patterned paper - Crate Paper
Sleigh Pop-Up Gift Card Holder, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)

I found a half-completed card on my table, so used the new Props 6 by Karen Burniston to finish it off! Poppy the Owl got a cute PanPastel coloured cowboy hat with a wheat stalk tucked into the brim.

The pretty foiled paper remained from a Seniors Secret Service special birthday card, and the felt cupcake I've had in my stash for a couple of years. It was the last one on the sheet so it was good to use it up.

This card also went into my donation box for Seniors Secret Service.

Card and envelope base - Michaels
2577 Large Happy Birthday Peel-off in Gold - Elizabeth Craft Designs
