Little Christmas Treats

I have some older pictures to share today ... I made these for our Christmas Craft Sale, but never did post them!

They were made with the Stampin' Up 'Candy Wrapper Die'.  I have got to make some of these cuties for our Thanksgiving table using different papers and pumpkins.  :-)

The sparkly paper was just calling for a sparkly embellishment ... and these fun-foam snowflakes from Michaels fit the bill. I thought they would make cute stocking stuffers.

Pine Cone Gift Tag Set

It's Saturday, and I have a holiday share today.  There are many Christmas pictures still in my file that have not been posted, and I hope to continue with the Merry Monday's challenge and work on my holiday cards all year long. Saturday's sound like a good day to share them!

I just found these photos in my file ... they are actually from 2011 when we had our Christmas Craft Sale. I made a couple of packages of these for the sale, and some to tuck into stockings.

The image was stamped with brown on white card stock, coloured with chalks then punched out with a coordinating punch. I packaged them in a polka dot cello bag with brown bakers twine. I thought they were so sweet!

Most people who visit my blog have a pretty good idea what supplies I've used, so I am not going to continue to list them. If you have questions though, please feel free to leave me a comment and I'll give you the specifics.

Tins of Chocolate

I am writing this post on Saturday, as I hope to be going somewhere especially exciting tomorrow morning (Sunday). If I do end up getting' there', I will be sure to let you know with my next post. Right now the plan is for me to go, but I can hardly believe my luck and will be holding my breath until I am dropped off at the front doors tomorrow morning.  In fact, I hope I can sleep tonight I'm so excited about this adventure. Fingers crossed! 

Meanwhile, for today's share - I made these tins up for our Christmas Craft Sale back in November. They didn't sell all that well, but I figured it was because we didn't have enough people come on the Saturday (our fault, for choosing a long weekend for the sale). A friend was going into a craft sale in her neighborhood the following weekend and offered to take them to her sale. Of course I said yes, and - they all sold there!

Each tin had sparkly designer paper on the front, and die cut layers.  They were tied up with pretty seasonal ribbon and a bow, and a die cut, stamped gift tag was added.  The stamp on the tag front is by Stampin' Up, and All Night Media makes the 'to & from' words.

Here is a peek at the inside, which was also lined with coordinating sparkly patterned paper - and there were a dozen paper wrapped mini chocolate bars inside. The bars are similar to Hershey Nuggets.

Butterfly Journal

While our Craft Sale is long over, I still have some photos of projects that I haven't shared yet. Today's post is a Butterfly Journal.

 

Most of the journals I made for the sale had a ribbon bookmark attached, with a bead at the end. This one didn't need any other embellishments.

Both the papers and 3-d stickers are by K&Co. The label was cut with my Cricut and embossed with a Sizzix embossing folder before inking. These were 5" square journals, with not-so-nice chipboard covers that were just begging to be altered. I love a nice heavy cover, ha ha.

More Hard Cover Journals

Here are a few more of the hard cover journals I made for our Craft Sale,

 

I covered these with scrapbook paper from my stash, as well as stickers & other embellishments. Each one had a ribbon bookmark with a bead at the end. 

I've been busy wrapping gifts, gifts and more gifts - just stocking stuffers but there are a LOT of them. My Mom and I exchange stockings on December First each year, and there is usually something to open every day between the first and Christmas Day.  I continued the tradition with each of our three children when they moved out. So now, I have like 100 stocking stuffers to buy and wrap. 

I haven't had a chance to upload the deck photos or spend any creative time in the studio, but will be back later in the week with some new cards.

Santa and Rudolph and Chocolate ... Oh My ...

So the Kit-Kat chocolate bars in yesterday's photo? Well I actually had TWELVE of them. What's a better way to decorate Kit-Kat chocolate bars, than to disguise them as Santa and Rudolph.  And put them in the Craft Sale!

 

After using the Swiss Dots embossing folder to add texture to the red card stock, I taped it around the chocolate bar, enclosing it completely. Both ends were crimped, because I really like that look.

I used my Cricut and the Doodlecharms cartridge to cut out the faces, layered everything with glue and foam tape, then attached the head to the top of the wrapped chocolate bar. Glitter glue was added after the ribbon was attached around his middle. 

Instead of using the nose and hat pom-pom that cut with the file, I glued a red Dew Drop for his nose, and punched a 3/4" circle (Stampin' Up) out of sparkly white card stock.  Santa has sparkly eyes too, courtesy of black glitter glue.

I used the Doodlecharms cartridge so often last Christmas that I thought I'd give it a rest this year. Then Jayne (see my blogroll for her blog) used the Santa and Reindeer to make the most adorable gift boxes and I just had to get the cartridge out to play with again.

Next up -- Rudolph:

These are SO cute, that if they don't sell well I will have no problem tucking one in everyone's stocking this year. Rudolph was made the same, this time using kraft card stock and the textile embossing folder from Stampin' Up.

Some inking, some doodles, and a glitter glued nose.  :-)  The twill ribbon was from the Stampin' Up Clearance Rack. It is sooooo soft and easy to use. I kept thinking he needed SOMEthing else though.

The word stamp is by Verve, and the punches by Stampin' Up ... popped up with foam tape and then I was happy with them.

"Homemade Fudge" Bars

I made some of these last year for our Christmas Craft Sale, and they sold out right away. So - I did them again this year, only this year I made more of them.  :-)

I did not come up with the verse, I saw it in several different versions all over the web. I may have tweaked it a little - but it's the same verse as last year's purchased chocolate bars. They were wrapped up with sparkly Christmas scrapbook paper, and tied with a pretty ribbon bow.

These chocolate bars are huge. I mean HUGE. Here you can see it against a normal sized chocolate bar. They are nice and heavy too - so it feels like a substantial gift.  I hope they sell as well as they did last year!

These ones have a pared down version of the poem. These bars are what I would consider a LARGE chocolate bar. They sold out last year too.

Again, wrapped with sparkly Christmas scrapbook paper, and these ones have a Nestability label cut out of red to mount the verse on. I used Sizzix snowflake dies and pretty sparkly red sheer ribbon.

I have had these stored in a plastic bin all week -- no way I was taking a chance on mice getting in the house and nibbling on all my hard work. The bows will all have to be adjusted before I lay them out for the sale but other than that - they are done!!

Ladies Loom Knit Hat

I've hat this hat done for awhile now - it is for our Craft Sale, but if it doesn't sell I'm keeping it for ME. I love it - it is SO soft and cuddly and warm.

 

I mixed a brown alpaca wool with a wonderful multicoloured yarn I found at a little yarn store. It is thick and thin and ranges in colours from brown and grey through to purple and pink! The full range of colours don't really show up in the photo's though.

I crochet a double flower and sewed it on with a button. 

 

I had some of the soft brown yarn left and was going to put it in a baggie to save for another project. It disappeared when I went for the baggie, and by the time I found it Jasper had made quite a mess of the leftover skein.  Sigh.  He sure had fun with it though.

Baby Boy Hat

This is a loom knit baby hat that I did when I first started knitting:

It has a double knit brim and a pom-pom. Have I mentioned how much I dislike making pom-poms?
I do. I really do. I have some Santa hats finished for the sale and have been procrastinating on finishing them as they require pom-poms.

This one is ready for the Craft Sale.   :-)

Hard Cover Journal

I found these lined journals - about 5" square, and loved the nice heavy covers. I decided to decorate several for the Craft Sale. Here is one of them:

I added patterned paper to cover the front, and inked the edges. Before attaching the paper to the back cover, I added a ribbon with beads strung on the end for a bookmark.

Kitchen Scrubbies

Bethany Dailey at 'Gettin' It Pegged' has the neatest pattern for loom knit Kitchen Scrubbies. I had to make some for our upcoming Christmas Craft sale:

I used the Bernat pink and white cotton yarn, as a portion of the proceeds from the yarn sales went to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

While it's hard to see in the photo, there is netting knit along with the yarn. Brilliant!

And here is what they look like all packaged up for the sale. I have six of these all ready to go.

Yesterday I got six tissue box covers all finished and packaged, AND remembered to take photos. I will upload them for sharing soon.

Christmas Photo Clips

Happy November!  Our Christmas Craft Sale date is fast approaching (November 11 and 12th) so I thought I'd post the photo clips I've made for it:

These are just so much fun to make, I had to restrain myself from making dozens.  I have a little card to put inside the clips, but only have one shown in the photo. We found last year, that customers really like things CLEARLY LABELED.  :-)

I used various items from my stash - stickers, Cricut cuts, and punches as well as strips of sparkly Christmas patterned paper.

Mini Coin Purse

I came across a YouTube video on crocheting a Mini Coin Purse and it was SOOOOO cute I had to try it. Worked like a charm, so I made 5 using leftover bits of wool and have them all packaged up for the Christmas Craft Sale.  Thanks BobWilson123.

They are the perfect size to hold a Loonie or Twoonie, and I immediately thought of 'Shopping Cart Coins'. I included a Loonie (our $1 coin) and a Quarter (25 cent coin) in each little pouch.

They are held closed with a button, and there is a little loop to attach it to your keychain or inside your purse etc.   Here they are, packaged for the sale:

 

The little frame graphic is by Lettering Delights, but I adjusted the colours on the original file to better match my projects.

Dog Cards

Here are a couple of dog themed cards I'm putting in our Christmas Craft sale ...

The printed paper is all from a paper stack by DCWV that I found on clearance at Winners last summer. I cut the square focal images from a different sheet of paper from the same stack, attached them to a piece of card stock to give them more 'body', then popped them up over the paper panels & ribbon with foam tape.

These three cards are approx 4.5 x 6.5", so larger than my usual A2 cards.
