Tulip Oval Accordion Card

Happy New Year!!

I've decided to start a 'Throwback Thursday' section to my blog ... as I seem to have more and more older cards sitting in the To Post File.  Today's Throwback Thursday card is an Oval Accordion I made to demo at Paper Pastimes in Calgary last winter.

The Tulip Peel-Off's were adhered to water colour paper, and coloured with water colour pencils and a wet brush. Then they were fussy cut so I could pop them up on the oval panels with foam tape.

These Flourished Frame Edges are SO pretty! If you adhere double sided adhesive to white card stock before die cutting, they are easier to adhere then trying to get glue on all the little flourishes.

I added gold glittery Peel-Off borders for some sparkle and shine, as well as a sparkly butterfly body & Happy Birthday die cut.

The card was assembled at the Demo, so I took the pictures there afterwards. Sorry the pics are a little 'busy'.

Here is the card all folded up and ready to pop in an envelope ...

C4C266 - Winter Birthday Card

Good morning friends

It's Saturday and that means a new challenge at the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog.  Our hostess Heather asked us to create A Winter Themed Birthday Card.

My brother has a December birthday, and he loves wolves so I thought I'd make him a special wintry card with the Accordion Circle die by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs.

All the Frame Edges were embossed with the new Snowflakes embossing folder at ECD. It's SO pretty!

I used some lovely, heavy textured card stock I had in my stash and the die cut snowflakes come with the Spiral Circle Pull card (also by Karen Burniston for ECD).

As hard as it was for me, I refrained from adding any Glitter Dots to this masculine card. I embossed one circle on the back side of the Accordion, and we will write our message on the other one.

Check out the blog to see how the Crazies have been inspired by the challenge.  We'd sure love to see your take on it, so be sure to stop by the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and link up your creations. If you are uploading to an online gallery, please use the keyword C4C266.

Supplies:
769 Accordion Circle, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
770 Square with Circle Frame Edges Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
917 Clock and Gears (Circle) Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
916 Spiral Circle Pull Card (Snowflakes) Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
E-126 Snowflake Embossing Folder - Elizabeth Craft Designs
506 Double sided tape - Elizabeth Craft Designs

Mary is 108!!

Good morning friends!

I have a special card to share today - one I made for Seniors Secret Service for Mary - who is turning 108!!! Isn't that amazing?  I made a nice big 6" square card, since it is being hand delivered by volunteers.

The green pattern paper has gold foiled bits in it, so I added some more gold with a gold marker - on each of the letters for her name, and on the green piece that was cut with the Agatha Edges. The green card stock used is beautiful, heavy weight and pearlized.

Of course I had to make it a Pop Up card, using Karen Burniston's Pop it Up dies! And yes, I used the Lorna Label for the base. I know I use that die a lot, but it makes such a perfect Pop Up for decorating.

I added the new Transparent Double Sided Tape that Elizabeth Craft Designs is carrying, to a strip of white card stock and die cut the script Happy Birthday from the Happy Birthday Pop Up. With the thinner liner, it cuts SO easy - and adhering the words to the green shadow was then easy peasy.

Since Seniors Secret Service makes sure that isolated Seniors are recognized on their birthdays, I know Mary will appreciate knowing she was thought of on her special day. This will likely be the only card she receives and I wanted it to be one that would make her smile. It's such an honour to be asked to create these milestone birthday cards.

Happy 108th Birthday Mary!!

Balloon Flip-It Card

Good morning friends

It's Masculine Card Monday here on my blog, and I have a cheerful Flip-It birthday card to share today, that I donated to Seniors Secret Service.

I had a leftover piece of this sparkly confetti paper, and the wonderful thing about these Flip-Its is that they come with the layering pieces which are a great way to use up scraps!

I also used the balloon die from Elizabeth Craft Designs - love that set. The little bow comes with it.

Cupcake Birthday Card With a Surprise.

Good morning friends:

It's Flip-It Friday here on my blog, and I have a Z-fold card to share today using the Spiral Circle Pull Card die.

I had fun with this cupcake die, cutting it out of black card stock, then snipping it apart so I could paper piece the cupcake with different patterned papers. It turned out cute and it's a technique I'll be using again.  The little banners were fussy cut from some paper in the stack, and I added black Peel-Off borders to them as well as one vertically down the right side.

Karen Burniston designed this die so you can use it with or without the spiral inside, and I use it quite often without. For this card though, I cut the spiral and attached the die cut, layered candles onto it.  They bob on the spiral when the card is opened, which just adds to the fun.

The Happy Birthday was die cut from black card stock and adhered on the inside of the circle. This was one of those cards that was a lot of fun to make and I hope will be fun for the recipient too.

Supplies:
916 Spiral Circle Pull Card, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs
769 Accordion Circle  (black circle), Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs
715 Cupcake with Cherry on Top, Elizabeth Craft Designs
732 Candles, Elizabeth Craft Designs
783 Happy Birthday, Elizabeth Craft Designs
1134 Lines Dots Border Peel-Off's, Elizabeth Craft Designs
1167 Borders Assorted Peel-Off's, Elizabeth Craft Designs
Patterned paper - DCWV

White card stock

C4C261 Number It

This is my first post today, if you are here for the Handmade Holidays Blog Hop it should be above this one as it will be posted about 8 hours after this one goes live.

It's Saturday and Saturday brings a new challenge at the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog.
"November 8 C4C261 Number It.  Number It .... Include a number or numbers on your creations this week. You can make an aged birthday card; number themed designer paper, number themed embossing folders or dies. Anything goes as long as there is a number somewhere!"

I made an 80th Birthday Card!

The pretty floral patterned paper has a dusting of glitter on it - it's just lovely stuff. I think this was the last of it too. Sigh.

I kept the inside nice and clean lined, but the fun comes from the Pop Up.  I used one of Karen Burniston's older Pop 'n Cut dies with the Wavy Label Framelits for layering.

Both the orange and the green printed papers have glitter on them and the numbers were cut with a Sizzix die set.

Be sure to check out the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog to see what the rest of the Crazies came up with for the challenge. We'd love to see your number creations as well, so link them up from the blog.  If you are uploading to an on-line gallery, please use keyword C4C261.

Pop 'n Cuts A2 card base with the Wavy Label insert - Karen Burniston (Sizzix)

Birthday Flip-It Cards for Seniors

Good morning friends.

It's Flip-It Friday here on my blog, and I have four nearly identical cards to share today. I had fun using up bits and pieces from a paper stack to make these birthday cards for Seniors Secret Service.

Each card uses the Fancy Edge Flip-Its and paper flowers, with the birthday words on the flip side.

Since these are obviously cards for ladies, I added some bling as well.

I like to think the Seniors enjoy getting interactive cards like this on their special day.

Supplies:
Fancy Edge Flip It's - Stephanie Barnard (The Stamps of Life)
Pink Card stock - Stampin' Up
White card stock
Patterned papers - DCWV
Paper flowers - from my stash
Bling - Recollections
Word stamp - MFT
