Good morning friends.
I have three sympathy cards to share today. My Uncle recently passed away and I wanted to send his family cards to know that we were thinking of them.
This first card went to my cousin, who is also a card maker. I used the Butterfly Pivot card by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs, and a sheet of semi-glossy roses patterned paper from my stash. In fact, I used the same paper for all three cards.
Here is the front of the card:
Inside, I added narrow strips of the roses patterned paper on either side of the spine, which not only brings some colour inside the card but adds stability to the spine.
The butterfly overlays and bodies were cut from white pearl card stock.
Here is the back view of the card.
This second card went to my Aunt. I used the same pearlized card stock as the butterflies above, and embossed it with the roses embossing folder. The panels were cut using MFT's Blueprints and assembled on a white card base.
The rose overlay layer was cut from red pearlized card stock that was attached to ECD Transparent Double Sided Adhesive so it was easy to adhere over the base layer. The green stem was die cut from green card stock then the rose was adhered with foam tape.
Finally, this is the card I sent to my Dad. He is in a nursing home, and even though this isn't 'happy mail', he will appreciate knowing that we are so sorry for the loss of his brother.
I used a Flip-Its card because they are easy to open and my Dad has limited mobility in his hands.
I've had to make far too many sympathy cards lately, so hopefully that will be it for a long time.
