Be EWE-nique

Good morning friends

This is the third card in a row that I've used Karen Burniston's Character dies with a play on words. Ha, I'll give it a rest for a bit now but I sure had fun making these cards!

Having some bright and colourful 'Chilly the Penguins' was on my Idea List, but I couldn't resist doing something similar with Snowball the Sheep. I kept the front fairly simple, using the Chicken Wire, Hay There Pop Stand dies as well as Snowball. Snowball is on an Action Wobble, so she bobs and wobbles around.

Inside I used my newest addiction - PanPastels. I don't know why it took me so long to try them - considering how much I like adding colour with chalks. I picked up a few colours to see how I felt about them and was immediately smitten. You will be seeing them in my Supply List a fair bit!

I used lots of Karen Burniston's Pop it Ups dies for Elizabeth Craft Designs on this card - everything works together so seamlessly.  Here's a look at my colourful sheep:

... and the hand lettering. I also added a string of Barbed Wire across the inside bottom.

Here is a side view so you can see the 'Lots of Pop's Pop-Up a little better.

Finally, you can see the Action Wobble that the front Snowball is attached to, as well as how nicely the card all folds up.

I've just GOAT to say ...

Good morning friends

I'm back today with a second card using a play on words. This one has William the Goat - another one of Karen Burniston's Pop it Ups Character dies, and I added a stitched circle for the message.

William's horns, nose and beard were cut from white card stock and coloured with markers. His hooves were cut from a black velvet adhesive sheet.

The card opens up completely flat, with the Fence Pop-Stand in the centre. The Fence Pop-Stand is SO much fun!

Another character - Snowball the sheep is attached to the centre posts.

I used the Happy Birthday from the Happy Birthday Pop-Up for the top, and another stitched circle for the words 'to EWE'.

I added the Outdoor Edges to the top and bottom edges - all Pop-it Ups dies by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Into my stash with this one.

We've Just GOAT To Wish You ...

Good morning friends

I have a fun Thanksgiving card to share today, made using the Rectangle Pull Card and other dies by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs.

William the Goat is on the front along with a partial fence from the Fence Pop Stand, grass clumps and a glittered acorn.

Seriously, how cute is William? I cut his hooves from Black Velvet Adhesive Paper and added colour to his body with chalks. His horns are a little glossy, as I used recycled packaging to die cut them.

When the card is pulled open, the glittered acorns & oak leaf spin up and into view. I penned the words "we've just GOAT to wish you" on the left and added a gourd & grass clump embellishment. The right side says simply 'Happy Thanksgiving' and has another glittered acorn.

I have to send this one to someone who has a sense of humour!

Supplies:
William the Goat, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Rectangle Pull Card, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)

C4C 305 Hanukkah Card

Good morning friends

It's Saturday and that means there is a new challenge at the Crazy4Challenges Blog. Raquel Mason is our hostess for September and this is her challenge:  September's Birthstone is the sapphire. Show me the blue! Make blue the most prominent color of your card.

Getting a jump on our holiday cards, I made a 'Happy Hanukkah' card card for our daughter and family. The Circle Accordion is an Accordion die by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs and it worked perfectly for this card! Below is the card folded up ready to be put in the envelope ...

... and here is the card opened. I have been having a lot of fun lately, die cutting glittered fun foam. That is what I used for the star on the front  of the card.

While it's hard to see in the photo, there is glitter glue on the word 'BRIGHT'.

I also used the Square with Circle Frame Edges, cutting them out of the same blue card stock as the card was made from. They were each embossed with an embossing folder before adhering to the card. For some seasonal sparkle, I added Glitter Lines Peel-Off's on each inner edge.

Check out the blog to see how the Crazies have been inspired by the challenge. We'd sure love to see your take on it, so be sure to stop by the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and link up your creations. If you are uploading to an online gallery, please use the keyword C4C305.

Layered Butterflies

Good morning friends

It's Throwback Thursday here on my blog, and I have an older sketch card to share today.

This is another card I made for the Freshly Made Sketch Blog (FM 65) but didn't get it posted in time.

I liked the pops of red in the patterned paper, so used that as a jumping off point for the rest of the (large) card. This one is 5 x 6-1/2".

104th Birthday Card

Good morning friends

I have a special birthday card today, one I donated to Seniors Secret Service for a lady named Violet, who was turning 104.

The floral patterned paper has a soft, felt finish and gold foiled bits. Beautiful stuff.

I added a stitched oval to the inked label, and a 3-d butterfly sticker to the oval. The front was done - I made it a Pop-Up card and for those I like to keep my fronts fairly simple.

Inside I used the Lorna Label Pop-Up, which is my second favourite Karen Burniston card die. I know I use it a lot, but that's because it's so versatile!

I hope Violet had a wonderful day.

Lorna Label Pop-up, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)

Sleeping Fox Tent Card

Good morning friends

I was inspired by Designer Challenge Teammate Frances Byrne's Tent Card, and had to make one of my own. This was the first one I made, although it's not the first one I've posted on my blog. I decided not to cut away the centre circle, instead leaving it in place and decorating it.

I love it when my dies can be used more than one way - and these Tent Cards are a great way to use your Accordion dies! I used Karen Burniston's Circle Accordion, a die set available through Elizabeth Craft Designs for the card base. I added the All Seasons Tree, as well as the Grass Clump from the Fence Pop Stand.

Inside the card, there is some patterned paper that you can see from the sides and through the centre areas around the circle.

The sleeping Fox is a Peel-Off by Elizabeth Craft Designs ... so sweet.

The back has a stamped greeting and room to write a message.

I will be making more of these for sure - the Accordion Dies make it so easy!

Accordion Circle, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)

Goat Smile Card

Good morning friends

I had this piece of patterned paper left on my table, and I was going through my stash of die cut journal cards when I realized this one had come from the same stack. William the Goat, a Pop it Ups character by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft designs was also sitting on my table.

I combined the three for a quick and easy flat card.

I think that William would make anybody smile!

William the Goat, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Stitched Journal Card - Lawn Fawn
Patterned paper - American Crafts
White card stock
Cream Linen card stock - stash

Butterfly Spinner Card

Good morning friends

I had a little bit of this pretty paper left over from a different project, so used it on a birthday card. I left the front simple, with the paper doing all the work for me. I did add some Stickles to the flower stamens and that was it.

I couldn't have a card that does nothing when you open it up though! I added a layered butterfly to the spinner that comes with the Rectangle Pull Card. The RPC is an interactive die set by Karen Burniston through Elizabeth Craft Designs.

The smaller butterfly spins up as the card is opened. I added a few Glitter Dots to the butterfly bodies, because you know I love those Gitter Dots!

Into my stash with this one.

Supplies:
Light purple card stock - Core-dinations
Patterned paper - Make & Create
Lavender card stock - Papertrey Ink

C4C 304 Sketch

Good morning friends.

It's Saturday and that means a new challenge at the Crazy 4 Challenges BlogRaquel Mason is our September Hostess, and Fran Sabad joins us as our September Guest Designer. Raquel has a sketch for us this week:

I used the sketch on the outside of my card.

Inside, I made a Pop-Up using the Lots of Pops die which is a set designed by Karen Burniston through Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Brownie the Cow was coloured with chalks, and I penned the 'I'm thinking of Moo' on the oval label. The label was stamped with my favourite dot stamp. I like the black 'smile' on the top speech balloon, it just pops!

Here is a side view so you can see the Pop-Up a little better.

Check out the C4C blog to see how the Crazies have been inspired by the challenge. We'd sure love to see your take on it, so be sure to stop by the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and link up your creations. If you are uploading to an online gallery, please use the keyword C4C304.
