Woodland Critters Pop-Up Christmas Card

Good morning friends

I admit, I went a little overboard on this card. I should have been happy with the card front, but oh no - I have to also make it a Pop-up using the Twist Circle Pop-Up by Karen Burniston. When finished, the card weighed a lot with all the layers and foam tape - and I had to add extra postage on it. Lesson learned - but I AM really pleased with the finished card regardless.

The card base is a larger card/envelope set from Michaels ... I love that with Pop it Ups YOU get to choose the size of card. I had been saving this sticker sheet to use on a card for my friend and the Lawn Fawn Leafy Backdrop seemed the perfect die to use with them. (SO happy I added that one to my collection).

Below you can see the card as it is opening ...

And here it is fully open - with a cute squirrel and log on the Pop-Up embellishment. I am adoring all the different plaid patterned papers that are so trendy right now, and this one has a bit of sparkle to it.

At the Mesa Rubber Stamp Show this Spring, I picked up this Impression Obsession sprig set that cuts 6 little sprigs with one pass. I just knew it would come in handy and I've already used it a fair bit. Here I added some of the sprigs to one of the pine cone stickers on the sheet and an IO cardinal cut from red card stock touched with a Wink of Stella.

I hope my friend likes this card as much as I did making it! And I know she will have fun recycling & repurposing the elements on her cards/tags next year.

***NOTE:  I will be moving my cards and paper crafting to Painted Mountain Cards in the New Year. I've been thinking about it for a long while, and the New Year seems like a good time to make the change. I will leave this blog open, as there are frequent hits from Pinterest and over 5 years worth of cards etc to reference.

'Wagon Full of Pumpkins' Card Duo

Good morning friends

Lawn Fawn's September release was amazing, and I could have just hit the BUY ALL button. But I exercised great restraint, getting this portrait Leafy Backdrop die and one other. But you should see my Wish List! Ha. It took awhile for me to get the die ... first it was pre-ordered, then there seemed to be a delay in shipping it to me, then they sent me the landscape die instead of the portrait orientation. As soon as I got it though, I made some Thanksgiving cards for the Grandkids. Since it was so late in coming, these will be put aside for next year.

I think this Leafy Backdrop is going to be SO much fun! The Happy Harvest set is one that had been on my Wish List for awhile, so I finally added it to my collection. I used the wagon full of pumpkins as the main embellishment for these two, and the cute crows come in the same set.

These two will be for the youngest Grands ... there are three others with a Scarecrow that I will share another day.

Leafy Backdrop - Lawn Fawn

'Love Ya' Twist Card

Good morning friends

This card popped into my head and I had to head straight to the craft room and make it. I started off with Karen Burniston's Stripe/Plaid Stage it Stencil in grey and red.

The All Season's Tree is done in white and the foliage in white with grey sponging on the edges. I finished off the front with the Beach Edges, Bakers Twine and three hearts from the Oval Accordion. I adore the shape of those hearts.

Here is the card as it opens ... the circle embellishment is sideways.

When it is opened all the way, it twists and pops up into the centre! It's created using the Twist Circle Pop-Up, by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs

I'm still having fun with Lawn Fawn's "Into the Woods" set, which is where the deer and heart speech balloon are from.

I also used my new Lawn Fawn tree border, sponging the foliage as I did on the card front. The tiny hearts are from the Merry Christmas Pop Up, also by Karen Burniston.

Wobbly Squirrel and Deer Thanksgiving Card Duo

Good morning friends, and welcome to my new followers!

I've been having fun with Lawn Fawn's 'Into the Woods' stamp and die set recently. I've had it since it first came out and I'm so glad I got it - those critters are just adorable. Here are the two cards I'm sharing today.

The squirrel is on a mini Action Wobble, and he has Wiggly Eyes. So when you flick him with your finger, he not only wobbles - you get the sound effect from the eyes. It's addicting!

Inside the card, I added stamping and some stickers from my stash.

The second card has the deer ... man, I love LOVE that little deer. This one has a wiggly eye and is also on a mini Action Wobble.

I had these cards out on my craft room counter for the longest time - just so I could flick and wiggle them as I went by. Ha!

Supplies:
Patterned paper - Doodlebug
Brown card stock
White card stock
Stamps and dies - Lawn Fawn
Stitched Rectangle die - Elizabeth Craft Designs
Wiggly eyes
Glaze Pen
Wink of Stella
Bic Markers
Watercolour crayons
Coloured Pencils
Gambol & blending stump
Mini-Action Wobbles - Art Impressions
Fun foam
Stitched oval - My Favorite Things
Clear double sided adhesive, 1/8" - Elizabeth Craft Designs

C4C356 Into the Woods

Good morning friends

It's Saturday  so that means a new challenge at the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog. Our October 2016 hostess is Caz Counsell and our Guest Designer is Heidi Green - The Crafty Goat Girl

Caz's challenge is:  Forest fun... a forest scene or your favourite forest critters.

A perfect challenge, since I've been playing with Lawn Fawn's 'Into The Woods' stamp set lately! I ordered that set when it first came out but haven't used it all that much. I LOVE it though - and also the coordinating patterned paper. Which I admit that I've been hoarding .

I cracked it out for this card. Cut right into two different sheets - held my breath - and the world continued to spin. Sheesh. Seriously though - when it's gone it's gone and that freaks me out. It will be awhile before I can bring myself to use more of it up.

The oval from the Anita Frames Pop-Up worked perfectly for the greeting on the front.

Inside there are birch trees (as in a forest of birch trees!) and those sweet stamped critters.  I used the Anita Frames Pop-Up for the inside - it's such a fun Pop-Up to use.

To get the brown scalloped edges, I simply cut long brown scraps using the edge of Els' Dotted Scalloped Rectangles. Worked like a charm - going to use that technique again for sure!

Finally, a view from the top.

Check out the C4C blog to see how the Crazies have been inspired by the challenge. We'd  love to see your take on it, so be sure to stop by the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and link up your creations. If you are uploading to an online gallery, please use the keyword C4C356.

Wobbly Acorn Card

Good morning friends

I had SO much fun making this card - I think I smiled the whole time. My friend "B" scored us some of the new MINI Action Wobbles and I was happy to see that they fit on the 'Into the Woods' stamp set. Now this is a set I've had pretty much since it came out.

I love it.

I love to look at it - those adorable critters just make me happy.

But I hardly ever use it.

Since I'm working at giving my older products some love these days, I pulled out this set along with some of the adorable Lawn Fawn plaid patterned papers.

I don't really get shopping very often anymore because of my RA but thankfully Amazon had a nice assorted package of Wiggly Eyes. Amazon.ca has really improved their product line in the past couple of years - which makes my life so much easier! Anyhow, I haven't used wiggly eyes on projects for a VERY long time, but when I saw how darned cute the acorn looked with wiggly eyes? I was sold. And hooked, I'm afraid - you will be seeing lots more wiggly eyes on things in the future.

The acorn is on one of the Mini Action Wobbles, and when you flick it with your finger you also get the noise of the wiggly eyes. It's addicting. Ha!

The card inside is sweet and simple...
