Puppy Pull Card Valentine

Good morning friends

It's Flip-It Friday here on my Blog, and I have another Valentine to share today, this one was sent to a friend who likes dogs. I used the Spiral Circle Pull Card (SCPC) by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs, and a cute digital dog stamp.

The notches that cut with the SCPC keep the card in the closed position until it is pulled open ...

I didn't add any layers to the card base, as I love the pink and brown polka-dot patterned paper. Ha, I just generally like polka dot printed paper period!

I added a glaze pen to this puppy's nose to make it look wet and shiny, & the heart and arrow were brushed with my Wink of Stella pen.

Scottie Dog Valentine

Good morning friends

I have another Valentine to share today, this one was for my parents to give to our son and his girlfriend. Haha - we are such a dog family.

I printed the cute graphics out on glossy photo paper, then used Pop it Ups dies to cut them out. The front Scottie has a pink Glitter Dot on her nose, and tiny black Glitter Dots for her eyes.

Inside I used the Lorna Label Pop Up. Love those cute Scottie Dogs holding the bone together. I added Glitter Dots to these two dogs as well.

Here is a side view so you can see the Pop Up a little better. It looks like it might be complicated, but Karen Burniston has taken all the guesswork out of Pop Ups.  You simply place the alignment nubs (that come on each Pop Up die) along the card fold and run it through your machine. The cuts and scores are done for you and you simply have to 'train' the card stock to fold. Karen B even has lots of video's on her You Tube channel to help guide you if you are nervous.  Trust me - these dies make it so FAST & EASY to create Pop Up cards.

Heart Pivot Valentine

Good morning friends

I have a couple more Valentine's to share this week - I didn't want to post them before Valentine's Day  so they would be a surprise to the recipients. This is the card I made for my parents to give our eldest daughter and her hubby.

I used the Heart Pivot Die by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs and some pretty patterned paper from my stash.

The decorated hearts pivot to the inside when the card is opened, which is the main feature of the pivot dies. I added a glossy rose sticker to one of the hearts, and a punched label as a place to sign our names.

Owl Valentine Pull Card

Good morning friends

It's Flip-It Friday here on my blog, and I have a Z-fold card to share today using Karen Burniston's new Rectangle Pull Card die (through Elizabeth Craft Designs).

I had a leftover piece of patterned paper from the Rectangle Accordion Anniversary Card (see HERE)  so used it for this card. It's a narrower card than I usually do - but that's the beauty of the Pop it Ups dies. YOU get to decide on the size of the card!

I penned Happy Valentine's Day on the Word Bubble that comes with the Rectangle Accordion - but you can see that it works perfectly on the Rectangle Pull Card too.

I added a red strip to the right side, and one of the new Paris Edges on the left.  The little owl spins up when the card is open - the spinner die comes with the Rectangle Pull Card, but it works on other Pop it Ups die sets too!  I added baby powder to back of the sticker once it was attached to the spinner, to remove the rest of the 'sticky'.

The little heart is one of the decorator dies that comes with the Rectangle Accordion. I had a little scrap of red card stock leftover and the heart fit it perfectly. So ... a card finished and I was able to use up all my scraps from the Accordion Anniversary card. Love that!

Triple Circle Frog Valentine for Zachary

Good morning friends

It's Flip-It Friday here on my blog, and I have another Froggy Valentine to share today.  Once again I had a strip of patterned paper leftover. This one is from my Spiral Circle Pull Card Frog Valentines (click HERE  to see them) so I used it with the Triple Circle Flip-It's to make our Grandson's Valentine.

There were some frog stickers leftover as well, so I adhered them to white card stock and fussy cut them out to sit on the circles. Those wiggly eyes crack me up.

My Mom gave me this die in my Christmas stocking - and I'm going to have fun playing with it. Thanks again, Mom!

C4C272 Royally Blinged Out Valentine for Mom

It's challenge time at the Crazy4Challenges Blog, and since it's a new month we have a new Hostess and a new Guest Designer! Our Hostess is Kelli Hull and our Guest Designer is Holly Tracy - The Paper Mint.     Welcome Holly! ... so glad you can play with us this month.  I would also like to welcome our new Design Team members, Raquel Mason and Vanessa Buzard.

This is Kelli's challenge: I have a love of the Royal Family so for my challenge this week it will be about The Queen! February 6, 1952 Queen Elizabeth was crowned Queen Elizabeth II. Make a card that is fit for a Royals Crown! Bling it up.

Originally the challenge was to make a Valentine for your Mum, and because I try to work ahead I was finished my challenge card before it changed to a general Valentine. I turned to Karen Burniston's Heart Pivot die. I love that die for all kinds of occasions but it's SO perfect for Valentine's Day I couldn't not use it.  I paired it with some deep red card stock and sparkly glitter paper for some eye popping BLING.

I cut two of the Fancy Frame Edges from Glitter Paper, adding them to the inside and finishing off the corners with Glitter Dots.

Gasp - here is the blinged out card in the closed position. This blinged flourish is one I've had in my stash for years ... it was so fun to actually know where it was, and to use it!

Here is the closed card from the back.  The camera didn't capture all the sparkle in the Glitter Paper ... it's just lovely stuff.

Valentine Fancy Edge Flip It

It's Flip-It Friday here on my blog, and I have a Valentine's Flip-It to share today.  I had a strip of the patterned paper leftover from my Tag Pivot Valentine, so was able to use it to decorate this card. I love it when there are no leftover bits from a project.

The embellishments are acetate, and attached with glue dots.

Jars of Love Valentine Pop Up Card

Good morning friends

I have a Valentine to share today, using bits and pieces from a fun paper stack. This is the Valentine I made for our eldest daughter and husband.

The front has a fussy cut jar, and a fussy cut printed jar panel from the same stack. I penned the words below the jar in the white space that was already there, and added a puffy heart sticker to the hearts in the jar.

You know I had to use one of Karen Burniston's Pop it Up dies, so I chose the Lorna Label. I like how it pops up the jar, but still blends into the background for a floating effect. Well sorta - but I like the look anyhow.

I added another jar with printed hearts, this one is a chipboard embellishment made by the same company as the paper stack. I tied on the Sweet banner with some bakers twine, then added a die cut heart and some more puffy heart stickers.

I wrote the words on the little banner that comes with the Lorna Label and attached it to the box platform below the label.

I also like how the Katie Label dies mimic the curves on the Lorna Label, so I used the stitched label from the Katie Label Accordion as a place for us to add our message.

Froggie Valentine Pull Card Duo

Good morning friends

Today I have two Valentine's to share, made for our Grandson's. It's no secret how much I love Karen Burniston's Spiral Circle Pull Card (SCPC) so I pulled it out for these Valentine's. Ethan is going to love pulling his card open.  Ilai is only a 4 months old - so he won't appreciate that part - but I bet his parents will!

I found this fun printed paper in my (huge) stash, and thought the colours would be perfect for frogs AND Valentine's Day.  The frog stickers have wiggly eyes, which crack me up. The stickers were adhered to white card stock and fussy cut so I could use foam tape and pop them up onto the centre circles.

You can see the tuck slots that cut with the SCPC, which keep the card in the closed position until the recipient pulls the card open.

I computer printed clip art for the inside of the cards, and cut them out with the circle die that comes with the SCPC.  I cut a second circle from fun foam and attached it to the back so the whole printed circle would be popped up without any buckling. Then I added a second blank circle which is where I will add our message.

This is the second card, made the same but with different words inside. I also had this circle border sitting in my 'Odds & Sods' pile, so added it as well.

Kisses and Hugs Valentine Pull Card

Good morning Friends

Today I have a quick and easy Valentine card, made using the brand new Rectangle Pull Card die by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs.  ECD caters to independent retailers, so be sure to ask your shop to bring in the dies, if they haven't already stocked them. They are shipping now!

I cut the card base from black card stock, then add a 3/4" strip on the back of the left hand side and a 2" strip on the back of the right hand side. The black card stock I used was fairly lightweight, so this gave the card some stability.

The Word Balloon comes with the new Rectangle Accordion, but it works perfectly on this Rectangle Pull Card too.  The glittered stickers refused to stick on their own, so each one was glued onto white card stock and fussy cut before adhering to the card.

Inside, I used the optional spinner feature of the Rectangle Pull Card to attach another sticker. It's hidden when the card is closed, but spins up as the card is pulled open.

The rectangle die I used to cut the red mats come with the Rectangle Accordion, but they are sized to work with this Rectangle Pull card as well.

I think my hubby is going to like his Valentine!
