Poinsettia Wine Bottle Tags

In addition to making lots and lots of embellished gift tags for the holidays, I plan on making lots of wine bottle tags! I've wanted to do holiday themed ones since I first saw the die at Papertrey Ink.  I think they would make sweet hostess gifts for my friends that make their own wine. Also to add to a bottle of wine we are bringing as a gift, or to decorate the wine bottle on our Christmas Eve dinner table, etc etc. I have a 'wine' themed gift idea for my sister-in-law, and decorated wine bottle tags will be included for sure. They will make a novel little gift for sure.

Like my gift tags, I want the wine bottle tags to be nice and sturdy. These three were cut out of heavy champagne Stardream so as well as being sturdy - the base in nice and shimmery!

The bottom of the base tag was embossed with a Stampin' Up folder because it reminds me of poinsettias. The white label was cut with a MFT die, stamped with a Hero Arts greeting, and embellished with a 3-d poinsettia made with the small Tim Holtz Tattered Floral die. I'm sure it makes other flowers too, but as I showed earlier on my blog - as soon as I got home with that die I made a poinsettia.  It's what I see when I look at the die shape, ha ha. The sparkly brads were from my stash.

I made three different ones to bring to a friends last weekend. They were hosting a brunch and I know they not only make their own wine - unlike me, they know a lot about wine. Anyhow, it was kind of a test run to see how they felt about decorated Wine Bottle Tags and they were both THRILLED. So now I know I'm on the right track for hostess gifts.

Happy Happy!

Thanks for stopping by today - have a great week.
