Scenic Christmas Cards

Whew - I've had a busy day, and I'm late getting this posted. There is no chance of me getting into the studio to play with the Merry Monday sketch, or tomorrow's Dynamic Duo challenge. But I do have three (identical) cards to share today.

I couldn't believe this Stampin' Up set was being retired. I'd had my eye on it since it first came out, so no way could I let it get away. The first thing I did was cut the bird away from the tree on the rubber, so I could stamp it back in in a different colour.

The trees were stamped on white card stock using a rainbow ink pad (love), then cut with a Nestie die. Then the bird and words were stamped in red. I punched slits (Stampin' Up) and threaded red grosgrain ribbon through them.

The beautiful turquoise paper is from my stash and I matted it with a darker turquoise card stock before attaching everything to the card front.

These are not A2 cards - they are 5 x 6.5" ... a size I really like using  these days!

Thanks for stopping by today.

  2. This is such a stunning card Karen! I love the way you're not afraid to doctor your stamps and that little bird will probably come in very handy for lots of projects!
