Outlet Birthday Flip-It Card

Good morning friends!

It's Flip-It Friday here on my blog, and I wanted to share the card I made for our Son-In-Law. Yes, he is an Electrician by trade.  I saw something similar on Pinterest somewhere along the line, so came up with my own version.

In doing a search to give the original creator credit, I see that I didn't actually remember it correctly and it really should look more like hers.  You can see it HERE.   Ahhh well - he will get a kick out of anyhow.

I used a chipboard coaster to add the outlet's to, and a screw brad. Love those things!

Here is what the card looks like when you pull it open. That little plug stamp is so fun - I bought it from the Stamps by Judith booth at the Mesa Rubber Stamp show last year ... after you stamp it, you just add a thick line wherever you want with a marker.  The little hour glass timer was in my stash, and it seemed to fit perfectly.

Supplies used:
Rectangle Flip-It - Stephanie Barnard (Sizzix)
Blue card stock - Club Scrap
White card stock
Chipboard Coaster - stash
Birthday words - Papertrey Ink
Brad - Spare Parts
Plug stamp - Stamps by Judith
Punch - Stampin' Up
Slots - Lots of Pops, 778 Pop it Ups, Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)

'Boy' Baby Card

Good morning friends!

Today's share is another Pop it Ups baby card, made using the 12x12 Scrapbook kit "All About A Boy".

I tied pretty blue seam binding around the outside front, keeping the bow off to the far right. Then I added the "B is for Boy" journal card from the kit and a 'clipboard' sticker.

The inside was trimmed slightly smaller and I cut the pop-up with Karen Burniston's Lucy Label die. This is one of the new dies in her Pop it Ups collection at Elizabeth Craft Designs. There is an additional 'bump 'that cuts with the label portion. You can choose to use it or not and for this card I opted to use it for mounting the hot air balloon sticker on. First though, I brushed baby powder everywhere on the back of the hot air balloon I didn't want to be sticky.

I added some cloud rub-ons and a border sticker from the kit, and stamped 'Welcome little one' directly on the Lucy Label.

Here is a look at the card from the side ... You can see I added some 'sprocket' print paper on the inside fold of the card front, so that is what you see in behind the pop-up. It looked better than the brown print that is on the double sided sprocket paper.

Another journal card from the kit, some star stickers and this card is ready for my stash.  My 'baby Card Stash' ... because our family will be welcoming THREE babies in 2014.  Three! My knitting looms will also be getting a work out this year as I make baby blankets.  :-)

Supplies used:
Lucy Label, 779 Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Patterned paper, journal cards, stickers - "All About A Boy" by Echo Park
Card Size  4.5 x 6"
Seam binding - Really Reasonable Ribbon
Cloud rub-ons -  Studio Calico
Word stamp - Fiskars

Cream on Cream Butterfly Card

Good morning friends!

I joke with Karen Burniston, that her wonderful Pop it Ups dies have ruined me as I have a terrible time making a flat card anymore.  I saw a pretty butterfly tone-on-tone card on Pinterest though, and thought I could put my own spin on one and still use Pop it Up dies.

This is a standard A2 sized card, I cut a smaller cream panel for the front and embossed it with a pretty embossing folder. The oval and stitched frame are included in the Oval Accordion die set (Pop it Ups), and the butterfly base/lacy overlay/body are included in the Butterfly Pivot die set (Pop it Ups).

I've added this to my stash, thinking it would make a lovely sympathy card. Just in case I go to use it for something else though, I have left the inside blank for now.

Supplies used:
Cream card stock - Hobby Lobby
Embossing folder - Paper Studio
767 Butterfly Pivot (butterfly) - Pop it Ups, Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
772 Oval Accordion (oval and stitches) - Pop it Ups, Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)

"Relax" Masculine Birthday Card

Good morning friends!

It's Masculine Card Monday here on my blog, and today's share is the birthday card I made for my Brother In Law ...

They like to spend time in the Miskoka's, so I knew the Adirondack chair would be perfect for him. I like to keep my pop up cards fairly simple on the front, so I just used the Agatha Edge die and matching scroll on the front.

The bottom Kraft card stock is embossed with a Happy Birthday embossing folder, and I dabbed on some ink for contrast. I hand lettered the little banner, which was trimmed smaller by running it through the Big Shot again and moving the banner up the die a little.

On the inside of the backing card (the reverse of the tree patterned paper on the front) I added small piece of tree patterned paper above the fold and Kraft below the fold so white doesn't show through  from reverse side of the patterned paper ...

Supplies used:
782 Agatha Edges - Karen Burniston, Pop it Ups (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
A2 Pop 'n Cut Card with chair insert - Karen Burniston (Sizzix)
Banner - Banner and Borders, Karen Burniston (Sizzix)
Label - Butterflies and Labels, Karen Burniston (Sizzix)
Tree patterned paper - DCWV
Kraft card stock - Michaels
Embossing folder - Cuttlebut
Birthday stamps - Papertrey Ink

Butterfly Pivot for Linda's Birthday

Good morning friends!

I needed a card for a friend's birthday when we were in Arizona in February, so I turned to the Butterfly Pivot die, which is in the Pop it Ups collection by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs.

You can make a card that really impresses with this die - those lacy butterfly overlays are a perfect finishing touch.  I also added some labels cut with the Katie Label pivot set as an area to stamp my birthday verse on and a butterfly cut with the Butterfly Accessory die set.

Since I was tucking the card in her front door, I popped this A6 card into a clear cellophane envelope - and did it ever look nice!

Finally, here is a look at the card from the top and from the back ...

Supplies used:
767 Butterfly Pivot - Pop it Ups, Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
773 Butterfly Accessory Die - Pop it Ups, Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Patterned paper - Crate Paper
Word stamp - PTI

'Cheers!' Wine Bottle Tags

Good morning friends.

I made these for our middle daughter, and will wrap them up for her Christmas stocking. She is going to love the fresh colours, and the chalkboard motif patterned paper which is so trendy now.

I cut the different glasses from a lovely charcoal Star Dream, so they have a pearlized finished. The white banners were hand cut. I added a Glitter Dot to some of the glasses - you know I love those Glitter Dots!

Supplies used:
Wine Bottle Hanger die - Paper Trey Ink
Different glasses dies - My Favorite Things
Patterned paper - We Are Memory Keepers
Glitter Dots - 7018, Elizabeth Craft Designs
Charcoal Stardream card stock - stash
Cheers! stamp - Stampin' Up
