Bright and Cheery Flip-It Birthday Cards

Good morning friends!

Thanks to everyone who came out to my Demo yesterday morning at Paper Pastimes in Calgary. It was so much fun showing you the sneek peeks of Karen Burniston's newest Pop it Up dies! Remember there is more to come in this release. Woot!!

The new Character dies are SO much fun ... and since they will be shipping next month, you can contact your local retailer to place their pre-orders. :-)  The new Ring Accordion Album die is my favourite accordion - and you will be seeing a lot of it here and from the rest of the Karen Burniston Designer's Challenge team.  Be sure to check out Karen B's blog post HERE to see a video with details and tips  on assembling the Characters and the coordinating Props die.

Today is Flip-It Friday here on my blog ...

I couldn't help myself - I had to order a couple more Flip-It dies. This one is also by Stephanie Barnard, but is exclusive to The Stamps of Life. I thought about it for awhile before ordering, and when I finally decided I had to have it - it was sold out! I had to wait several weeks, so when it was back in the store I ordered it right away. I love that these dies come with the dies for layering, and that they are wafer thin dies. SO much easier to store!

I also find that the base doesn't cut through on the edges, even using light weight card stock and running it through the Big Shot two or three times. Shims on the ends are necessary, which while is a disappointment - isn't going to stop me from using the dies. I am storing the card stock shims right in the storage envelope so they are always handy when I go to cut.

I like making Flip-It cards to donate to Seniors Secret Service, as they are just a little more special than a flat card and not something the Seniors will be used to seeing.

These new Flip-It Framelits are sized to A2, so they fit perfectly in a regular A2 envelope. Those are much less expensive than the square ones I use for my regular Sizzix Flip-It cards, and when you are donating as many cards as I do - every little bit helps.

Supplies used:
Card size - standard A2 (5-1/2 x 4-1/4)
Red card stock - Bazzill
Fancy Edge Flip-It Framelit - Stephanie Barnard, The Stamps of Life
Patterned paper - scraps from my stash
Gel hat sticker - Jolie's Boutique
Gift and star 3-d sticker - Forever in Time
Words - MFT

Thanks for stopping by today!
