Sparkling Girl Mother's Day Card

Good morning friends!

My Mom asked me to make them a Mother's Day card to give our Daughter. I knew what I wanted to do, but this card ended up going in a completely different direction.  I have to jot down the idea I had originally so I remember it!

The girl holding the barrel, flowers and sign are all new images from SugarPea Designs. I stamped them on white card stock, coloured them with coloured pencils (blended) then I covered the stamping with a sheet of double sided adhesive. I removed the remaining liner and sprinkled Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter all over and polished it in with my fingers.  As I did with the bunny pop up earlier, I found that the outline was just too muted for my taste so I went over the entire thing with a Pigma micron pen.

Just to be safe, I let the images dry overnight then fussy cut them out.

Next I sponged grass on the front of a folded A2 card, and stamped the clouds. See THIS post on how I made the stamps using Karen Burniston's dies.  The cute frame comes from cutting the center away from one of the Oval Accordion panels! I ran the die and white card stock through the Big Shot with a silicone mat to emboss the stitches, then traced over the embossed lines with a yellow Tombow marker. Yes, yellow. Yellow is appealing to me more and more these days!  I tied a yellow bow around the right edge of the frame then popped it up on the card front. The girl, flowers and sign were then adhered.

Even though it wasn't the way I planned it, I think the card turned out pretty cute!  There is some patterned paper layered with white card stock inside.
