Happy 105th Birthday Agnes

Good morning friends

I have a special card to share today made using this lovely pearlized rose patterned paper. I cut the bottom edge with one of the Agatha Edges (by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs) and added a black flourish for pop. Coral sheer ribbon was tied around the front and I was ready for the inside ...

Seniors Secret Service asked if I could make Agnes a special card for her 105th birthday and I was more than happy to make one.  Inside I added two more black flourish pieces, and I used the Happy Birthday Pop Up. The Happy Birthday layer was cut from a Black Velvet adhesive sheet  which makes it really easy to adhere to the base layer.

I sprinkled around some punched flowers ...

... and added a label for the birthday greeting ...

Friendship Pop-Up Card

Good morning friends

Today I have a Pop-Up card to share, that I made for a friend. I made it while visiting Arizona in the late fall and I didn't have too many supplies with me. I did have a couple of my Pop it Ups dies though!

Here is a peek at the inside - I love the Lorna Label Pop Up, by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs. For this card, I made a Double Lorna Pop Up.

Then I decorated the card with various stickers etc from the paper package ...

... and the card was ready to send in the mail.

Here is a better look at the Double Lorna Pop Up from the side ... such an easy technique  but it is SO effective!

Supplies:
915 Lorna Label Pop Up, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Patterned paper - Momenta, and Crate Paper
Stickers - Basic Grey
Card size - 4-1/2 x 6"

Bird Love Notes

Good morning friends

Today's share is a couple of Love Notes for my stash.

These dies crack me up - and I really just wanted to play with them. When I was done, I thought the grandkids might like to see these cards turn up in their mailbox one day. But I will have make another one so Zachary doesn't feel left out. Little Ilai is still a little young for Happy Mail, but his turn is coming.

Supplies
Bird Dies - Sizzix
Heart Dies - Karen Burniston
Large Heart Die - Lawn Fawn
Patterned Paper - Crate Paper

Wobbling Reindeer Cards

Good morning friends

I like to work on Christmas cards all year long, so today's share are the cards I made for our Grandkids for next holiday season. This year things were so hectic that I struggled to get their cards made in time. Next year, I'll be prepared.

I had purchased this Reindeer die on clearance last Spring when we were visiting Arizona. I haven't done much with it so decided to go ahead and use it for these cards.

I ran the die through a second time cutting just the head area, and popped it up over the base layer with foam tape. The antlers were sponged darker and I added glitter glue to it as well. Then, tied some Bakers Twine around their necks. Oh, and I used a regular hole punch to punch their noses out of red card stock.

The ground pieces were cut with Karen Burniston's Outdoor Edges, and the card bases are A2 in size and GLOSSY. It is hard to see in the photos, but it makes the reindeer really pop as the gloss catches the light.

Just for fun, I attached each reindeer with an Action Wobble so they bob and wobble around  on the card. Totally fun and I'm going to need to buy some more Action Wobbles soon. :-)

Supplies:
"Dress a Critter" Reindeer - Sizzix
914 Outdoor Edges, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
White card stock
Black card stock scraps

C4C267 Poppy Valentine

Good morning friends!

It's Saturday and that means a new challenge at the Crazy4Challenges Blog.  It's a new month so we have a new hostess (Peggy McCurry) and a new Guest Designer (Jennifer Dove at Dove Art Studios).   Welcome Jennifer!

Here is Peggy's Challenge:
"Happy New Year! Every year we have the opportunity to start with a clean slate. I don’t know about you but I like to keep things in my life simple. So let’s make today’s challenge “Clean and Simple”.

I don't do many Clean and Simple cards, and it was kind of fun!

I made a Valentine for my Mom and Dad to give Olivia, using Karen Burniston dies and her new clouds embossing folder. I lightly sponged pink and orange on the clouds so it wasn't quite as stark.

Poppy has some glittered feathers, beak and heart, and black Glitter Dots work perfectly for eyes.

Oh, and did I mention that she is on an Action Wobble? So she bobs around when the card is moved. Olivia is going to love that.

The words were done on the computer.

Check out the blog to see how the Crazies have been inspired by the challenge.  We'd sure love to see your take on it, so be sure to stop by the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and link up your creations. If you are uploading to an online gallery, please use the keyword C4C267.

Valentine Deer Pull Card

Good morning friends

It's Flip-It Friday here on my blog and I have a Valentine Z-fold card to share today!  I am working at using up things from the little piles that accumulated on my stamping table over the holidays.  This deer is one of them ... it was stamped in pink on blue - just to see how I liked it. Then I die cut it and put it in the pile as it wasn't what I was looking for at the time.

The green striped circle was also in the pile, leftover from the front of a shaker card (that will be shared later, when I can show some of the new Karen Burniston CHA release dies.)  The deer fit the striped circle perfectly, so I decided to use them together to make a Valentine for our Granddaughter Olivia.

I cut the Spiral Circle Pull Card from green card stock, then added printed paper borders and some stickers.

Inside, I penned 'hello Deer' and there is a circle for us to write a Valentine Greeting. Olivia knows when there is 'no writing' inside a card, and she will ask you where it is if you forget.  Man, I love that little girl.  :-)

Supplies:
916 Spiral Circle Pull Card, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
917 Clock & Gears (for large circle), Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Green card stock - my stash
Patterned paper - We R Memory Keepers
Heart stickers - Target
Deer stamp & die - W Plus 9
Fun foam (to pop up the large deer circle)

Tulip Oval Accordion Card

Happy New Year!!

I've decided to start a 'Throwback Thursday' section to my blog ... as I seem to have more and more older cards sitting in the To Post File.  Today's Throwback Thursday card is an Oval Accordion I made to demo at Paper Pastimes in Calgary last winter.

The Tulip Peel-Off's were adhered to water colour paper, and coloured with water colour pencils and a wet brush. Then they were fussy cut so I could pop them up on the oval panels with foam tape.

These Flourished Frame Edges are SO pretty! If you adhere double sided adhesive to white card stock before die cutting, they are easier to adhere then trying to get glue on all the little flourishes.

I added gold glittery Peel-Off borders for some sparkle and shine, as well as a sparkly butterfly body & Happy Birthday die cut.

The card was assembled at the Demo, so I took the pictures there afterwards. Sorry the pics are a little 'busy'.

Here is the card all folded up and ready to pop in an envelope ...

772 Accordion Oval, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
