Karen Aicken (that's me!)
Ruby Rock-It is offering our beautiful Essence Empire Bebe collection to one lucky winner!
And the Elizabeth Craft Designs prize is a package full of fun Peel-Offs from their new collection, Stand Up Helpers Set 2 and a pack of Watercolor paper.
Another thing I loved about the Ruby Rock-It items, is that everything that was included in the embellishment packages were printed on the back of the package. You didn't have to dump the whole package and root through it to see what was in there. Well, of course I DID because I had to look at and touch and feel and oooooh and aaaaaah over each piece. But when I was planning my first card, it was so nice to flip the over package and refresh my memory. Ahh the small things that make me happy.
You may as well settle in with a hot drink this morning - I have a long post with lots of photos.
My first card is a Congratulations Card, as our Son In Law just earned his PHD. I love the fresh patterns in the Ruby Rock-It 'Handi Scandi' paper package and immediately gravitated to this triangle print.
I love Kraft paired with red anyhow - but with strips of glitter? Swoon. I had to use this tag right away.
I made it a Pop Up card (no surprise there) and used the Lorna Label Pop Up, a Pop it Ups die by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs. The larger area is perfect for decorating, and I added another tag, owl and apple from the Ruby Rock-It Handi Scandi line. Oh, and the coordinating twine is also part of the same line!
The Congratulations is one of the new larger word Peel-Off's by Elizabeth Craft Designs. This was gold, but I wanted it to be blue. So - I coloured it with a royal blue Copic marker before peeling it off the backing sheet... easy peasy.
I also added some star border Peel-Off's to echo the glitter on the embellishments.
The eye glasses from the Pop it Ups Props 1 die set by Karen Burniston are so fun paired with the owl die. This guy just cracks me up now.
Onto my second card, which is a Stand Up card using one of the word Stand-Up Helpers by Elizabeth Craft Designs.
It was so much fun choosing which embellishments to use for decorating. I really like all the glitter on these Ruby Rock-It embellishments, but they are double sided so you can use them non-glitered as well.
The flowers on each side of the stand-up area are actually cut from one of the Ruby Rock-It border embellishments, and I used two sections of an ECD border Peel-Off at the top. I die cut some Elizabeth Craft Designs ladybugs from black and red velvet sheets and added glitter dots (also by ECD) for more shimmer and shine.
Here is a peek at the inside -
My third card is a Quick and Easy one, that practically made itself.
The cute owl panel was fussy cut from one of the printed papers in the Handi Scandi package. I inked the edges and popped it up on the feather printed panel which also has inked edges. I die cut the HELLO from a piece of Pink Velvet sheet and attached it onto the label portion of the owl panel.
The card base is Kraft card stock. I added an owl embellishment to the inside, and then added Glitter Dots to each of the owl's eyes on the card front.
For my fourth and final card, I really wanted to use this fun patterned paper. I also wanted to try my hand at adding colour to the wood veneer pieces. I did it but decided I like them naked better. There are several left in the package so I can still make more cards with them.
I had lots of fun choosing embellishments to add around the inside of the card, including one of the wood veneer pieces that I coloured with Copics and glitter glue.
The banners were fussy cut from the reverse side of the 'Meadow' printed paper. I popped them up at the top and bottom inside edges of the card, adding Peel-Off borders and Glitter dots as well.
I hope you enjoyed my cards for the Ruby Rock-It and Elizabeth Craft Designs Blog Hop. Once again, here is the list for you to hop along with:
