Bee Mine Double Hanging Charm Pull Tab

Good morning friends

My card share today uses my new favourite die - the Hanging Charm Pull Tab, by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs.

I was tickled to find a Pull Tab embellishment in my stash, so that was added to the front to create a DOUBLE Pull Tab. The HCPT die sets comes with several charms - one of them is a coffee cup with a 'paper' liner. I used the liner (upside down) to create a pull on the pull tab and added an arrow from the Rectangle Pull Card.

Here is the embellishment Pull Tab open to reveal the heart inside the opening.

The back is left empty so I can write a note when I go to send the card.

Supplies:
Patterned paper - Pebbles
White card stock
Hanging Charm Pull Tab, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Be Mine Pull Tab embellishment - K & Company
Fine point pen - Staedtler

C4C 321 - Down Under Card

Good morning friends

It's Saturday, and that means a new challenge on the Crazy4Challenges Blog:  The 26th January was Australia Day, as I live in the "land down under", lets celebrate with a Down Under Challenge. Create a card with something down under, it could be under the sea, or a tree or underground, under an umbrella or even from down under in the world.

I have a mischievous Jinks the Monkey on my card, who is after the slices of birthday cake. Obviously one of the party guests is a little scared of monkeys and is hiding under a bowl (made from the Cup in the Cup Pop Stand set).

I added the slider mechanism from the new Oval Pull Card on this Rectangle Pull Card so when you open it, Jinks slides across the card. You can see how he swapped out the slice of cake with a banana. Ha!

I drew the little banner - the card was made before I discovered how wonderful the Frame Edges for the Ring Accordion worked as banners. Balloons are from the Lucky Birthday Clear Stamps and colouring was done with coloured pencils. The sweet little frame around the words is from the Hanging Charm Pull Tab set.

Check out the C4C blog to see how the Crazies have been inspired by the challenge. We'd sure love to see your take on it, so be sure to stop by the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and link up your creations. If you are uploading to an online gallery, please use the keyword C4C321.

Love LOVE the new Pull Card Edges by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs. They work with all three of her Pull Cards!

Circuit Cut Wedding Card

Good morning friends

It's Throwback Thursday here on my blog and I have a pair of older cards to share today ... MUCH older.

The accent was cut with my Cricut and the Paper Lace cartridge, then the whole piece was embossed with clear powder. I adhered the flat gems with my iRock tool.

It never takes twice as long to make a second card while you have all the supplies out, so I made a second one. I think that second one is still in my stash, but the first one was given to a Bride and Groom.

95th Birthday Cake Pop-Up Card

Good morning friends

With their Christmas letter, a friend said that his mother was turning 95 in January and if anyone wanted to send her a card they knew she would appreciate it. Like I was going to pass up an invitation like that?

Inside, I used the new Cake Pop-Up by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs. The flowers were fussy cut from a scrap of the floral patterned paper, and I added Frame Edges from the Ring Accordion as a banner above the cake.

Butterfly Pull Tab Card

Good morning friends

Today's share uses my new favourite Pop it Ups die ... the Hanging Charm Pull Tab (HCPT) by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs.

It is a flat card (does not open like a traditional card) and fits easily into a standard envelope for mailing with a single stamp.

The patterned paper has beautiful gold foiled accents. To make the butterfly charm I used the butterfly charm that comes with the HCPT, lining up the die over one of the printed butterflies on a scrap.

When you pull the tab the frame slides up to reveal the greeting and the charm dangles in the opening. So sweet.

This is the back of the card, using the new Just A Note Clear Stamps, coloured with pencils.

Supplies:
Patterned paper - Kaisercraft
Hanging Charm Pull Tab, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)

Cream card stock

Barn Star Oval Pull Card

Good morning friends

I was just playing around with the new Oval Pull Card and this is what I came up with.

The notch keeps the card in the closed position, and when you pull on the sides to open the card, the dimensional barn star slides across the card centre. I added the steam from the Cup Pop Stand as 'star trails'.

I added several of Karen Burniston's clear stamps, with Cocoa the horse wearing a hand drawn holiday hat.

Supplies:
Patterned Paper - Scrapbook Customs
Oval Pull Card, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)
Star Accordion, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)

Reindeer Gift Tags and a Zentangle Tile

Originally I planned on sharing a Gift Card Holder I made for friends, but I cannot find the photos in my files. I will keep looking for those pictures, but meanwhile I thought I'd share some holiday tags.

I was SO excited when Karen Burniston came out with her Props 5 which included ANTLERS. I used them here along with the 'Rudolph' nose and Glitter Dot eyes.

These turned out so cute - I am going to make more of these to use for Christmas 2016.

C4C 320 Challenge Card

Good morning friends

It's Saturday and that means a new challenge on the Crazy4Challenges Blog:  The 19th January was National Popcorn Day, so let's add some 'POP' to our cards be it by creating a card that includes the theme popcorn; creating a Pop Up Card; just Popping up your image using foam tape or just adding a Pop of color to a black & white card.

Popcorn is my favourite food on the planet. AND I have more than one popcorn stamp ... but I needed to be making Valentines so instead went with a Pop-Up Card.

This will be the Valentine for our Granddaughter, who at 4 will be able to read the word LOVE on the front.

Not only had I pre-cut dozens of Christmas card bases with an older Karen Burniston Pop 'n Cut die, I found three pre-cut bases in my Valentine card box. Managed to use two of them up this year though!

I had made our Grandson's Valentine's first and since they have a robot on them Olivia's had to have a robot as well. I added strips of Washi tape and doodled the dangling hearts.

Check out the C4C blog to see how the Crazies have been inspired by the challenge. We'd sure love to see your take on it, so be sure to stop by the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and link up your creations. If you are uploading to an online gallery, please use the keyword C4C320.

Valentine Flip-it Card and a Zentangle Tile

Good morning friends

It's Flip-It Friday here on my blog, and I have a Valentine Flip Its card to share today.

I continue my quest to Use Things Up, and this die is perfect for little bits and pieces.

We were recently away on a trip, and I worked hard to have my posts scheduled before we left. It was such a relief not to have to worry about posting when we were away and coming home I decided that my posts need to have less writing.

If you have questions, leave me a comment and I'll get back to you.

Today I am also sharing my Zentangle Tile #6

Patterned paper - stash

Kraft Jar Pull Tab Card

Good morning friends

I have a Valentine to share today, made using my new favourite die - the Hanging Charm Pull Tab (HCPT) by Karen Burniston for Elizabeth Craft Designs. I have already used it a fair bit - all with the same basic layout. I have lots of ideas for other layouts on a larger card so will get to those as soon as I'm caught up.

This card base was embossed with an ECD embossing folder, but I smoothed out the area around the slider with the back of my fingernail so the sliding mechanism would be smooth. I added two arrows from the Rectangle Pull Card to indicate that the heart tab should be pulled in the direction of the arrows.

Here is the card in the opened position ...

This is a single panel card, but I still like to decorate the back a little.

Supplies:
Patterned Paper - Crate Paper
Kraft card stock
Cream card stock
Red glitter card tock - Recollections
Kraft Jar - Recollections
Hanging Charm Pull Card, Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)

Rectangle Pull Card (arrow), Pop it Ups - Karen Burniston (Elizabeth Craft Designs)

Sparkling Birthday Cake Pop-Up Card

Good morning friends

Today I have a second card to share for Karen Burniston's January 2015 Designer Challenge. It's another Birthday Card, this time a very feminine one. The pretty roses patterned paper has glittery bits on it so I paired it with pearlized and glittered card stocks.

The 'Celebrate' comes from Flourished Gift Frame, and the butterflies are from the Butterfly Pivot and Butterfly Accessories.

After yesterday's card using the Ring Frame Edges as banners I had to try a different Frame Edge from the set for this card. Cut from green pearlized card stock I embellished it with Glitter Dots. I love finding other uses for our dies than what they were intended for.

Inside I used the new Cake Pop-Up. Oh, this is such a cool Pop-Up! You can use so many different patterned papers and/or colours to change it up for any occasion, including masculine cards! Karen Burniston has a YouTube video showing how to assemble this card which you can view HERE. She recommends that you try it first on some scrap paper and I agree. It can be hard to see the fold score lines when using patterned paper if you are unfamiliar with assembling the Cake Pop-Up.

The Lorna Label Pop-Up is such a nice shape, I used it here and fussy cut the white mat. The label was die cut from pink pearlized card stock then coloured outside the stitched lines with a Copic marker. The white banner was hand cut, and the stamps were selectively inked, stamped and coloured with coloured pencils. The butterflies were cut from the same silver glitter paper used throughout the card, and coloured with Copics.

I used the scalloped border from the Pull Card Edges for the top edge of the inner card, added a strip of silver glitter paper, then the Ring Accordion Edges as a banner across the top edge above the cake. Honestly, I'm just hooked on this idea.

Finally, here is a side view so you can see the Pop-Up a little better. Before assembling the card, I adhered some DSP behind the cake opening so you wouldn't see the pink patterned paper on the outer card through the Pop-Up opening.

I hope you will check out the rest of the Designer Challenge Team to see what they've come up with for this Designer Challenge. Their blog links are on the right. Karen Burniston will have her post tomorrow (Wednesday) on HER BLOG.
